A review for my sister 9/29/2017

My sister has been very pleased with the care that was provided by Jamecca, Romeo, Bebe, Dominic, Desiree, Lawanda, Chris, Nicki, and Ron from Pulmonary! Kudos to all. Thank you for being so kind to my sister during her stay at Kindred! Ps: we like George too? I have personally dealt with Karim and he has been so wonderful to me...keeping me constantly informed about my sister. Thank you so much!? Susan Marterella more

For my father 9/29/2017

Our Dad's second visit here; they are an excellent facility with excellent, caring staff; in particular, LaWanda, Ben, Hong, Bresetta, Adam, Daniel, Crystal, Brooke, Tracy, Claire, Robert, Dr. Watkins and most importantly, Dr. Adamo. I know there were many others, some of whom I never had the pleasure to meet because they are behind the scenes. We thank you all for caring diligently for our Daddy. God bless you all! Good people 9/25/2017

Dr. Mott and Laura from Weatherford Regional we're the ones that admitted me to Kindred. It's a little far from where I stay but I didn't have much choice. Heard a lot of good news from the doctor about Kindred. Didn't really know what to expect from the hospital but all I knew was I needed additional therapy. What I have experience from the pulmonary program has been exceptional. Eric from the therapy department worked with me on my exercises and helping me to build my endurance and muscle strength. Also Ron a really cool guy who is the instructor for the pulmonary program taught me a lot of things that I didn't know before. Which was helpful because now I'm not only educated but I'm also able to do the things that I didn't do before. After my discharge, I'll be receiving additional therapy in Weatherford and looking forward to it. But I have some really great nurses who work with me that include Lawanda, Carrie and Romeo. Lawanda has been terrific. She has a very pleasant and polite demeanor while the care has been very good. One of the nicest nurse I have met in quite some time. Carrie and Romeo also fit into that same politeness category. Actually the whole nursing staff has been exceptional. I did have some problems with the food some items didn't come. For example one day I have tater tot's but no hamburger. They also forgot to bring the condiments. But they were able to take care of it. That would be the only suggestion for improvement that I would recommend. I would have no problem to recommend anybody to come to Kindred for therapy. I hope my experience that I am sharing with you helps in your decision. William Street more

Great Care from everyone 9/20/2017

As for the hospital, I would have to give this place a 5 star because the people are great and very hospitable. The staff is fantastic and very responsive to your needs. The food is terrific and I think I have gained some weight. Hehe. I noticed that there is a strong team effort and everyone works great with one another. It's actually was my first visit as my doctor referred me there. I honestly believe that he referred me to the right place. I was admitted on a vent at Kindred but now I'm off and recovering well. Some of the staff at the hospital stood out. Such as Tracy who works in the physical therapy department. She was very encouraging and has a positive attitude. She made things look simple and made my workout a great one even though it was hard workout. Very happy she pushed me to give 100%. Thanks for the care that you gave me. I'm very surprised of a hospital of this size was even there. But definitely would recommend. Just hope I don't have to. Just to let you all know, I'm a nurse actively work at Providence. Loved it 9/16/2017

It's my first time at Kindred Southwest and my doctor from Granbury actually referred me here. I think he made the right choice because the moment that I arrived the atmosphere and the feeling was very different in comparison to the other hospitals I have been too. They have a lot of trees and greenery which makes it feel very soothing. And to top it all off the nurses and the entire team has been very welcoming on my first of admission. I used to receive Home Health from Girling however they have now switched over to Kindred at Home. So when I arrived I was very happy to know that it was the same group of people that was looking after me during the home visit. You're always going to get a positive outcome if the nurses and the people who work at the hospital have a positive attitude. Everybody from the housekeeping, dietary, rehab, nursed, tech, doctors and house keeping departments has a very positive spirit. If you're a patient and you know that these people are willing to help you and you provide them with the same courtesy and respect that they provide you than you know that your outcome will be what you want. Definitely a recommendation for other if you're looking for a rehab hospital. Thank you Laura, Dorothy, Sarah, Allison and Tish for being such a sweet heart. I can continue to go on and on with the names but sometimes I feel a little sad that I can't include everybody. Love you all. Carolyn Tubbs more

My Nurse Tara 9/12/2017

My five star goes to Tara who is my nurse during the night. Such an outstanding person and a great nurse. Very caring and always willing to help with no complaints at all. Every time I push the call light she was always there faster than the CNA's. Had some hiccups with the service but they got everything taken care of. I definitely would recommend Tara to be your nurse. more

Great Care 9/12/2017

Great care and attention from Allison and Tara who were my night nurses. 3rd time at Kindred and the care has been great as usual. Would recommend them to friends and family. Almost forgot Tiffany. A blessing she is. Roxanne P. more

Great Care 9/7/2017

5.0 /5 Sep 7, 2017 Dr Youri recommended us to Kindred. It's the first time here and we have been happy with the care. The only issue we had was with the food as some items were missing. But Stephanie, Lilla, Crystal, Ricky, Lyra, Robert, Chris, Adam and Todd have been some of the best Kindred staff we have met. Great care. more

Great 8/31/2017

The care has been great. No complaints from me at all as the nursing girls are outstanding. The entire team is professional and they have treated me right. But I have never been to Kindred before and I originally didn't make the choice to go there but was referred. It was a good choice though. Will be going home tomorrow and I'm a happy camper. Great Job 8/30/2017

My mother was brought here to ICU on a vent. I can't express how great the care that was given to our mother. Rita, Owen, Joseph in Resp., Allen P., the whole ICU crew just went above and beyond! After a few weeks our mother progressed, was taken off the vent, trach removed, and was transferred to the floor. Everyone from the valet guy , receptionist, dietary, was just wonderful. Laurie worked really hard towards helping us transition and crystal was very sweet and hospitable in making sure I was comfortable during our stay here. Great job for having an all around Group of folks and Hospital. Joe Franklin more

Amazing Professionals all around 8/21/2017

E Bellgardt in the last week Amazing Professionals all around!! I like that they encourage patients and families to speak up when something isn't quite right. Lamis was my ambassador and any concerns I had she was right there on it, and if she couldn't resolve it she most definitely found someone that could. She is a true patient advocate. Daniel, RN was extremely helpful he was courteous, very professional and efficient in his dealings with me. Answered all my questions. He has excellent people skills. Great nurse! Silvia, with EVS cleaned my room the majority of my three week stay. She always had a smile and a kind word. She was thorough in cleaning my room and very pleasant, professional and tireless. An efficient cleaning tornado. Great employee! Ron with Pulmonary rehab is a wealth of knowledge who was able to explain techniques in a simple and easy to understand manner. He was personable, competent and professional. A joy to work with complete musical accompaniment. Great therapist! Tina was my tech for several shifts throughout my stay. She is quick to respond extremely helpful, polite and personable. I felt well taken care of when she was here. A firecracker. Great tech! Marc, Occupational therapy was very knowledgeable as we worked on strengthening my skills for activities of daily living. She always met me at my physical level for that day and encouraged me to succeed. A riot. Great therapist! Annie, from dietary was very helpful in addressing any concerns with my food menu. She was polite, dependable with a calm demeanor. A problem solver. Great employee! Tracy was from physical therapy and we worked with not only strengthening my body but increasing my endurance. She showed a genuine concern for me and was a joy to work with. I went from wheelchair to walking with her assistance and encouragement. A PT expert. Great therapist! Karim, my Case worker kept me updated on my care plan. Very nice guy! With all that I have said, Kindred will be recommended by me always EBellgardt more

All Smiles 8/15/2017

I cannot choose just one person because I felt like everyone did their part toward my recovery. They were always pleasant, smiling and keeping me informed of my care and giving me encouragement. A stay in the hospital because of an injury or illness is very frustrating and it is very easy to take the frustration of a situation out on those nearby. The staff here met this challenge with patience, understanding and they tried to make my life here easier and very comfortable. If I ever need this type of care again, I will want them to send me to Kindred. Karena E. more

Great Program and Absolute Lifesaver! 8/8/2017

I think that the pulmonary rehab program here is an absolute lifesaver! I've told all the people that I know who are going to a pulmonologist to try to find a way to get into this program. What I've found to be the most helpful was all of the education that I received on COPD. I've come to find out that there are so many people that do not know how to properly use their medications and the therapists here explain everything to you in detail. I would also like to mention something else that I was very impressed with while I was coming here. After talking to the therapists here about some symptoms that I had been experiencing regularly like headaches and fatigue, they suggested that I speak with my doctor about the possibility of sleep apnea. I had mentioned these symptoms to some of my other doctors in the past and none of them ever mentioned sleep apnea. I brought this up during my next visit to my pulmonologist and he scheduled me for a sleep study. Based on the results from my sleep study, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea! It was the most amazing thing and I was so thankful that I wrote my pulmonologist a letter thanking him for putting me into this program. I have also learned breathing techniques that make it easier for me to manage my asthma and emphysema and I have benefitted greatly from the exercises which I didn't do very often before coming here. This is a great facility and I am very grateful to Kindred and this staff of respiratory therapists. I am definitely going to miss everyone when I finish the program next week. Kay W. more

Wonderful Experience! 8/7/2017

I asked my pulmonary doctor at UTSW if there was a rehab program available and she wrote me a prescription for this program. I wasn't aware of what the program consisted of though. I thought it was going to be more physical exercise and I didn't know about the education portion of it. I have really learned a lot about my condition and I found it very interesting and beneficial to me. The therapists are very sincere and caring and they're also very motivating. They are all up to speed on what they are doing and they are very personable but they always make sure that you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. Tanya, Ken, Ron and Marty have all been excellent. They are always encouraging and very confident in what they do. I am now more aware of what I should be doing and I am physically stronger. This has been a great program! Ron C. more

Kindred 8/7/2017

I used to be an employee at kindred southwest about four years back. However I have been working with kindred for over 15 years and now I'm retired nurse. I used to work with my doctor, Dr Adams but now I'm his patient, at Southwest. I really have a lot of trust in him as a former colleague and as a patient. But the care that I received from two techs has been terrific and I feel that they need to be in the spotlight. Beverly and Terry. They really go out of their way to help me from the basic needs to the most difficult request. For example some of the basic things we would do in life I have found it to be quite a difficult task however with their help they have made it very simple. I just wish I could have them at home now after the discharge. The food isn't so great nothing like my own home cooking but suitable for a hospital. Overall the staff has been nice. I see a lot of new faces that work here before during my time. I know nursing isn't the most easiest job in the world but I do admire what they do. The last advice I could give to any nurse is to call for help when lifting heavy items. Never think that you can do it even though you have the power to as it can jeopardize your body and back. Always remember to be kind to all of those that you take care of! Tammy Jackson more
