I was amazed at how this place with such a good reputation could give me such a hassle! First of all, they tried to reschedule me twice. I requested to have a haircut with DJ (the owner). They continuoulsy tried to reschedule me with someone else after they had already scheduled me with her. The day FINALLY came for my appointment and then she said she did not have time. She offered to reschedule again and said she would like for my cut to be modeled and displayed with the other stylist and agreed to do it for free. She told me to call back in a couple of hours after leaving the salon, when she could check her schedule. I called back and she would not accept my phonecalls (she was busy) and after I left a message, she didn't ever call me back. I was polite the enitre time. Although I was frustrated, I didn't show it and I was excited to get a free haircut and a model!!! I am wondering if that was just her way of blowing me off. She never followed through with what she planned. It took me an hour (one way) to get there but I was still willing to give it another chance. She is the owner and it just seems she would have more respect for her customers and follow through with what she initially planned. No discounts were offered for my services for that day (a color). I even tipped the colorist. I guess there is no respect for the costumer, now there is no respect for their business and the way they conduct it. I wished things would have been different. After seeing some of the negative reviews here I was wary when I got a gift certificate to KLP. Surprise - I had a great experience! The staff was very nice and my stylist (Billy) was awesome. I have terrible hair but he took it on enthusiastically and, when I showed him a picture of the cut I wanted, he tailored it to suit my face shape and profile. It even cost less than I had expected. I love the results and will definitely go back again. more

These may be the most incompetent hair stylists in the city. They seem incapable of handling a routine dye job and keep you waiting to boot. I don't really understand some of the negative reviews of KLP. Mimi has given me the best hair cut I have ever had. Seriously. She is the only one who has ever gotten my hair. And Donna gave used several different colors to give me the coolest color -- it's natural but just a little bit funky. It does take forever, but the results are worth it. And I think their prices are very, very reasonable for an in-town salon. I've also had a pedicure at KLP and it was very relaxing. more

I love the energy of this salon. My colorist Danica created a magic blend of color spending a lot of time weaving wisps of hair to hide gray, and give me an overall sophisticated fresh color. Mimi the stylist, takes time to talk about cutting options listening to my requests and offering good alternate ideas. I've always had helpful, energetic people help book my appointments even when I change plans on relatively short notice. A good vibe for those who get it. I agree that there is much attitude and stress between the employees. I actually had one of the more senior hairdressers come over and tell the person cutting my hair that he was doing it wrong. It looks to be a stressful place to work. It's definatly a stressfull place to get a haircut. Also, I made my appointment over the phone, but was told that there was no record of it when I arrived. I ened up having to wait an hour and a half, then the cut took another hour and a half. I was the last one left in the salon after everyone had left for the day. I was not completely happy with my cut, but I was so ready to get out of there that I didnt want to say anything. more

I was skeptical about scheduling a couple's massage with KLP after reading the reviews on this page, but a friend had recommended them and I was pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful experience we had. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive. Apparently, there are different levels of massage therapists. Our couple's massage was only $130 (significantly cheaper than most of the other spas in town). The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. I would definitely go back for another massage. more

Key Lime Pie has done an amazing job with the asthetics of this place as well as having very hip looking hair dressers. Beyond that, the cuts are pitiful. DJ, the owner chopped my hair almost above me ears. I asked for a trim and my hair was at my shoulders. I was devastated. She didn't seem to pay attention and seemed like she was in her own world. Oh yes, and it took a little over two hours. I HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE KEY LIME PIE. My hair color was....well, I still can't figure it out.
