WORST OWNER AND SERVICE IN AREA 9/30/2010

After reading all these great reviews (NOT) for this horrible rip off of a store I feel stupid that I did not find this review site before I spent thousands in the dishonest TY Dynasty with his worthless, STEVE as a salesperson. I read the exact situations I was exposed to over and over and they get that MONEY and then just run you all over the place when they make mistakes. I even purchased a warranty on my so-called expensive sectional and have found that its worthless, just like KEY HOME FURNISHINGS and OWNER TY.\r I see why the local TV Stations do not have their products anymore and I dont have to be exposed to the false commercials anymore. The BBB should take notice.\r The positive postings on here must be from the rude employees so they can keep their Jobs and more important, the MANAGER TITLE.\r TOTAL LOOSERS. more

Unprofessional & dishonest. 6/28/2010

We ordered a dining room table and chairs for $998. They printed out the paperwork, we signed the contract and paid for the order in-full with my debit card. Less than 30 minutes after leaving the store, the sales person called and said the price was incorrect and should have been $1,298. How unusual. We returned to the store and spoke to the manager and sales person. It felt like they were trying to blame me for their incorrect price. How can this be? I signed THEIR paperwork. They refused to honor their paperwork and never apologized for any mistake or inconvenience. The whole interaction could have been so much better if they simply said, ""we are so sorry but we made a mistake."" There was nothing kind, apologetic or customer service-oriented about the way we were treated. I asked for a refund. While we were discussing the matter, my copy of the contract was on the counter. The sales person quickly shredded it so there is no record of the transaction. It was a very odd and awful experience. UPDATE: We purchased the same table from a competitor for $1.098 and they delivered it for free! Don't waste your time on this place. more

Don't Expect Quaility Service or Treatment from Management 5/27/2010

We were blind-sided by the friendly staff, and exhausted from our recent move to this area. The floor room has much to offer and the sales-people are great, but the quality of the furniture is BAD NEWS! Even the peices that they call their ""best quality"" peices, which is what we supposedly purchased, are sub-standard at best! Within six months the table and chairs we purchased began to look like they were seveal years old. The chairs were splitting, the pleather was separating from the base of the chairs and the wood was chipping as if were enamal. I called , sent e-mails and when I finally spoke to the coustomer service manager she, and I kid you not, said,""So sorry, but tables take a lot of wear and tear and there is nothing we can do for you . After all, you have had it for almost a year."" I was infuriated and felt cheated! This table is only used when we have large gatherings and that is not often! In short, I cannot impress upon you the urgency to shop elsewhere and stay away from here unless you plan on replacing your main furniture peiced yearly! Best overall furniture experience 4/16/2010

We purchased from several of the local furniture stores in the past. Most of them gave me the feeling that I was honored to be in their store.\r \r Key Home Furnishings and the owner Ty made me feel like they really wanted me as a customer. To me, that's what is important. They have a great selection and the follow up blows the other stores away.\r \r I won't shop at any of the big chain stores again. The three that I went to had rookies as sales reps. Key does a great job understanding my needs.\r \r The other stores need to look at what Key is doing and try to emulate. Best Furniture Shopping Experience 3/17/2010

This was my third shopping experience with this company and I have never been disappointed. I just purchased a new bedroom set and I absolutely love it! I have bought from Key and 4 other stores over the last 6 years and this is the only company that has made my furniture shopping experience pleasurable. The sales person I worked with this time was very professional, knew how to recommend the right pieces and set for us, the delivery guys were so courteous, and my sales person Effie called me to thank us and make sure we were happy. The last set I purchased from Key Home was a sectional I custom ordered, and I had to get new new cushions after about 2 years. I called their customer service and they ordered me the cushions right away without a problem at all no charge to me. After shopping several stores and having poor service at most, I would highly recommend Key Home to anyone! I will definitely go back to Key Home! Pros: Everyone Is So Nice! more

Don't bother with this place 3/7/2010

I wish I would have checked out these reviews before I made my purchase from this business. These people are more than happy to take your money, but Lord help you if you need any follow-up help or service. You might as well talk to a wall. I get better service at 7-11. Until I heard a commercial the other day, I had no idea that Ty was the owner. If he's the guy you need to talk to about any questions or complaints, good luck, because he comes off as not really caring about what you have to say.\r \r Unless you enjoy post purchase hassles, stay away from Key Home Furnishings! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM OWNER!!! 3/5/2010

After searching all over for the exact entertainment center we wanted, we purchased one from Key Home Furnishings. List price was $1499. We got it on sale for $599....great deal, right? The unit has seven drawers, great for storing DVD's & VHS (yes, we still have some of those!) \r \r Well, after the unit was delivered, I started loading our movies into the drawers. Come to find out, two of the drawers slide open if they are more than half full!!!! I called Key to see if this could get repaired. I actually spoke to Ty, who is the owner. Ty tells me that IT'S NOT WORTH THE TIME to send someone out to fix the drawers. The reason is because we got such a great deal on the item. Then, get this, he offered our money back...saying that he could put a $699 price on the entertainment center and sell it within a day!!!! Not only did he refuse to repair the item, he offered to give us our money back, so he could sell this defected piece of furinture for $100 more to someone.\r \r Unfortunately, since this entertainment center is pretty much what we were looking for, we kept it....and just keep two of the drawers half full. Run far, far away!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/13/2009

Save time and money and shop at Big Lots or Target. They sell VERY comparable products if not the exact same. Take it from someone who knows! From the start I felt like I was walking onto a used car lot and lied to, but thought perhaps I was being a bit judgemental. However, I now know that my gut was telling me to run far, far away! Having called 3 times with no return calls on when my table would arrive, my husband finally got through and we got our table after having had to reorder it due to a scratch. I decided that this could happen anywhere and wrote it off. Having later discovered my table in a Big Lots add, I went in and showed them and they quickly refunded the price difference. Only then to call and say they gave us too much and refunded us another amount. This was fine as we had already figured their mistake. Hours later we got another phone call saying no refund as it was outside the 30 day price match (upon pick-up of the non-scracted, correct table, it was between 33-36 days). So, without our consent, they took back their money. Good thing I didn't go shopping!!! Then, they said they wanted to work with us but days later said it wasn't the same table and too bad for us. They way they handled the whole situation, the lies, the misuse of our credit card without of knowledge and lack of professionalism is unbelievable. They know nothing about customer service, sell VERY cheap, poor quality furniture and are dishonest at best. Search their name time and time again and you will find other reviews that state the same. I am convinced the good reviews are written by them to offset the bad reviews. RUN as fast as you can away from this store!!! Cons: Horrible customer service, dishonest, cheap/crappy furniture more

I wish I could rate it zero stars 1/14/2009

We purchased a couch from Key Home furniture. It was scheduled to arrive in 6 weeks. Six weeks passed and we called to check on our order and were told the staff would check on our order. We never received a call back. We called again to check on our overpriced couch and were told that the manufacture ran out of fabric. Eight weeks later we were finally able to schedule a delivery. They were hours late. When the delivery men (read goons) started unloading the truck they were giving us blue cushions. We ordered a brown couch. We were told that they just packed the wrong throw pillows and that they would replace them. When they unloaded the couch and put it in our living room, it was brown, but it was not the couch we ordered. I told them this was not our couch and that it had to be returned. The refused. I told them I will file a complaint with my credit card and have the funds reversed. The threatened to call the police on me over and over. They continued to threaten me until I was so frustrated; I called the police to ask advice. How embarrassing to bother the police over something like this. They did say it was a civil issue and I could call the cc company. The movers kept talking about felonies and criminal records - Until my large, yet sweet husband showed up. The staff was condescending and rude, they even began to accuse us of being the rude ones and told us we didn?t know what we ordered. We are out a large amount of money. Every time I see that horrible commercial with the weasel owner Ty on it I become nauseated. Stay away, Thomasville just opened across the street. furniture experiance 9/11/2008

My husband and I just bought a new home and needed furniture. We saw an ad for Key Home Furnishings and dropped by to see what they had. Steven (our sales person) was very friendly and knowledgable. He explained all warranty info, both manufactures and extended, which we purchased. The customer service was exceptional. We got a thank you card and updates on when our new furniture was coming. The delivery crew they use was fantastic. They were fast and didn't damage a thing. We did have a cushion go flat and Key Home replaced it no problem. I'm glad to tell my friends to purchase from Steven at Key Home. \r Thanks everybody! Pros: Salesman, customer service and Delivery team more

Great Service I've gotten from a furniture store EVER. 6/21/2008

I've purchased furniture from several stores around town and have never received such great service as I have from Key Home Furnishings. I purchased an entertainment center and coffee table about a month ago. They told me it would take about 6 weeks to arrive, which was fine since the remodel wasn't complete yet anyway. Two weeks after my purchase, they called me to thank me for coming in and to let me know they checked on the order and everything was right on schedule. About a week after that, I received a thank you letter from the owner letting me know he personally wanted to thank me and be sure my experience was pleasant. I received another call once the furniture arrived! I have NEVER received such wonderful follow-up from a furniture store EVER in all my purchases. It was a really nice treat! Great buying experience and customer service!!! 10/9/2007

I've read some of the reviews for this store and since we had such a positive experience I thought I'd share it with the world!!\r \r I am so in love with this company!!! \r \r Shopping for furniture is a crazy ordeal and my wife was dragging me around everywhere looking for different things. We had seen a sectional at another store that we liked and good thing we didn't purchase it there because we saw the same sectional in a different fabric that we liked better for a hundreds less. Our salesperson helped us order the right configeration for our room and had great decorating ideas.\r \r Less than a week after we purchased the furniture we got a thank you card from our salesperson and we got a call from the customer service department thanking us for our business and they told us there was no backorders and we would recieve our furniture on time.\r \r When we recieved our furniture there was a spot on a cushion and they ordered a new cushions right away and we had the cushion about a week later.\r \r Great buying experience and customer service!!!\r more

No problem here with customer service 11/3/2006

About a year ago my boyfriend and I bought several pieces from Key Home furnishings accent tables and dinning set. Within about a month a glass pieces from the coctail table (it is glued to on and swivels on the base) came off all I had to do was call them up and the replaced the piece as soon as it came in. Well it happened again all we had to do was call them again and this time they said they would replace the whole table no questions ask no problem even at the end of the warranty. They felt bad we had the problem again. They were also very fast we had our new piece within the week! Alway helpful on the phone and it the first person can't help you someone always called me back no having to track them down. Pros: Friendly people good customer service more

Their Customer Service is horrible. 9/27/2006

We bought an expensive leather sofa and loveseat at Key Home Furnishings. When the delivery truck came and they placed the set in our family room, we told them they aren't going to work. They were much to big for the room so we refused the shipment. The delivery Guys told us we had to sign for the furniture and arrange for a return through the store. We called our Salesman, then the Manager, and they both said they would not take the set back, not even for a store credit. We then attempted to call the owner but only got an answering machine. So we drafted a letter to the owner and never got a reply. We were going to stop payment on the Check but know doing that is illegal and we surely didn't want to be the bad guys. So we were stuck with a sofa and loveseat that wouldn't work for us. We ended up selling them on craigslist at a great loss. All that we can say is when you see Key Home Furnishings, keep on driving. We have never been treated so poorly by a retailer. more
