This January I took my Audi in and had a new belt and fan put on for hundreds less then the dealer. Great costumer care!

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/21/2013

Bad experience. Towed my Subaru and charged $254 for them to disassemble and diagnose. They disassembled way more than necessary. They said I needed a new timing belt, water pump, and other parts for $1335.00. They also said there is a very high probability that the heads are damaged and if bad, then cost $3500 to repair. Of course they would know that until I did the $1335 repair job on top of the $254 diagnosis.\r Luckly I was able to contact my Subaru specialist quoted me $500 to replace the timing belt. Better yet, before replacing it he could put on a spare belt and run the engine to ensure no additional damage prior to doing the timing belt job. I proceeded to have my specialist complete the job. My mechanic had to charge me much more ($954) because many additional items were disassembled with several parts being lost by Ken Caryl imports (thermostat, bolts, clamps, antifreeze, etc).By the way, the water pump was fine. Ken Caryl Imports was happy to charge me the $254 but refused to compensate for the lost parts Not a good business practice. more

far better than any dealer 6/26/2011

I recently took my mercedes in for service, I was promptly called back with a diagnosis. the repairs were top notch at a very reasonable rate. the service writers were honest and acurate. when i picked up my car the technician came out to the car with me, expained the repairs and even taught me some features the car had that i never knew about. so as i said no more dealer for me, I've found my new shop. more

The Only Place I'll Ever Go 6/23/2011

WOW! is all I got to say. This place really now's how to run a honest and fair business and treat there customers. I took my Mercedes and wifes Toyota in there and have had nothing but good experiences. I met and talked with the owner (Vern), manager (Chance) and service writer (Matt) and it was the best customer service I have ever received at a car shop. They kept me up to date on all my repairs and were honest enough to tell me things that could wait to replace rather than just getting every dime out of me. They explained things in terms I could understand and my cars have always returned perfect. They even drove me home and picked me up. I have finally found a good/honest mechanic shop and I'll will be back. I'll refer all my friends and family. THANKS KEN CARYL IMPORTS!!! more

Good and Honest People 6/21/2011

I was refered to Ken Caryl imports by a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to have such a good experience. I use to take my cars to dealerships for repairs, but they are overpriced and I felt taken advantage of especially being a woman. The dealership gave me a list of things I needed fixed that totaled close to $2800. I took that list to Ken Caryl Imports and they told me most of those things wern't needed. Chanc and the mechanic who worked on my car explained things in terms I could understand. I only needed about $450 in repais and my car has been great. The customer service there was outstanding, I will take my car there from now on. more

NOT TO BE TRUSTED! 7/7/2010

My first experience last year was when I took my van in because the belts were squeaking. They told me all my belts needed to be changed, so I paid around $300 for this to be done. Next day, belts still squeaked, so I had to take it back in to be adjusted. Now that I've had another bad experience with them, it makes me wonder if they needed to be replaced to begin with, since I never look at the old ""bad"" belts. This last experience was horrible and life threatening. My axle had a leak, which was dripping on my exhaust pipe. Took in for repair before a road trip to the western slope. On Wednesday, they ""fixed"" it. That evening the drip was worse, so on Thursday, I took it back in. After they had it for another 6 hours, they delivered it to my house, stating it has been fixed properly this time. I made the mistake of believing them. The next day we started our trip to the western slope, which he knew we were taking. Three hours into the drive, we stop to use the restroom, and we now have smoke coming out from under our van! Past the point of no return, and in the middle of nowhere, we decided to keep heading west and try to make it to the Toyota dealer in Grand Junction. When we finally arrived, the van smoked so much, they thought it was going to catch on fire. We were told that chances are it did, and thankfully we were driving fast enough to extinguish the flames. Bottom line - gear oil dripping out of our axle itself, and had nothing to do with the gaskets they replaced. They did return our money, after we insisted, but their ""fix"" could have cost us our lives! Value yours, and DO NOT go to them. Cons: Customer Service and Quality more

Bad Experience 6/11/2010

I brought my truck in for lower ball joints and a wheel alignment. When I picked it up, I could see that the front left side was 1/2"" lower than the front right. Also, the front was 3/4"" lower than the rear. The torsion bars were not adjusted correctly after the work was done. When I told them, they said, ""bring it in, we will take care of it."" This time, the got the front right and left level, but the front was still 3/4"" lower than the rear. Out of frustration, I decided to adjust the torsion bars myself. I then said that I wanted the alignment redone, since the ride height had been changed. They took care of this too. But after bringing my truck in 5 days in a row, they never offered an apology for all of the hassle, or for me having to go back and fix the work that I paid them for. Poor attention to detail, and poor customer service on a simple, routine repair. Pros: After 5 tries, they got it right Cons: It took 5 tries, and I had to do some of the work myself. more
