Review content:
Bad experience. Towed my Subaru and charged $254 for them to disassemble and diagnose. They disassembled way more than necessary. They said I needed a new timing belt, water pump, and other parts for $1335.00. They also said there is a very high probability that the heads are damaged and if bad, then cost $3500 to repair. Of course they would know that until I did the $1335 repair job on top of the $254 diagnosis.\r
Luckly I was able to contact my Subaru specialist quoted me $500 to replace the timing belt. Better yet, before replacing it he could put on a spare belt and run the engine to ensure no additional damage prior to doing the timing belt job. I proceeded to have my specialist complete the job. My mechanic had to charge me much more ($954) because many additional items were disassembled with several parts being lost by Ken Caryl imports (thermostat, bolts, clamps, antifreeze, etc).By the way, the water pump was fine. Ken Caryl Imports was happy to charge me the $254 but refused to compensate for the lost parts Not a good business practice.
