HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the owners of this store!!! This is the WORST buying experience I have ever had. I wish that I had read the reviews of this store before I bought furniture from them. I wanted a particular brand of patio chairs, and this was the only store in the area that carried the brand. Being new to the area, I called first to get directions. One of the two owners answered, and she was rude on the phone. I should have listened to my intuition and not driven over. But, I made the mistake of going to the store and ordering 2 patio chairs. I was told that they would be available in 6 to 8 weeks. I called after 7 weeks and was told that the material was on backorder. I asked why they didn’t tell me that the material was on backorder earlier so that I could have selected a different fabric, and the owner gruffly said “it’s common for custom furniture to take longer than expected”. Then, the owner said that she originally told me the chairs would take up to 10 weeks to arrive - which was not at all a truthful statement. My “friend with a truck” was not going to be able to pick the chairs up for me since they were going to arrive weeks later than promised, so I had to ask the owners to deliver them to me. There is a $50 delivery charge, and they would only deliver them if I sent a check to them prior to the delivery. They would not accept my credit card because they said “I changed my mind once about delivery already” - not taking into account that the lateness of the chairs arrival impacted my ability to get them myself. I told the owners of my dissatisfaction with their “customer service”, and they said that 99% of their customers loved them, and that I was the one being difficult…INCREDIBLE! If I had it all to do over again, I would never step foot into this store. more

I just had the worst experience in a retail store where people spend their DISCRETIONARY income in my entire life. I am somewhat comforted by the reviews below knowing that I am not the only one who has had poor service directly from the owner. I have never dealt with someone in a poorer mood and as incredulous as he was when I asked if the now outdated Christmas trees and ornaments would be marked down any further. He says to me ""Absolutely not! That price is a good deal!"" I suppose 50% off of anything is a good deal but with an attitude like that my future business apparently is not. He struck me as another stereotypical Brentwoodian, air of entitlement because of the zip code and insulted by an inquiry of further markdown. In this economy, every dollar to your bottom line matters. Allison Y., the reviewer below who states we should be ashamed of ourselves for our opinion, has it all wrong. Maybe they had a decent experience spending THOUSANDS of dollars on patio furniture but I did not get the benefit from the owner. If you are smart you won't let your shadow cross the threshold of their door because from where I stood he doesn't appreciate anyone's business and probably laughs at those who spend a fortune after they leave. Just a reminder, the CUSTOMER is always right! more

Customer service is non-existent. Owner (white-haired man) is hostile to the point of abusiveness when approached with a customer service issue. I finally pushed the $15@ broken Christmas ornaments, which had been improperly packaged when purchased, toward him and told him to keep them because they were of no use to me. No refund, no apology, no exchange. I worked in retail management for many years and never once had such a poor encounter. He's a sorry excuse for a local merchant. more

Terrible customer service! The owner has a bad temper and was extremely rude to me. Christmas lights for my tree did not work when delivered. When I contacted the business the owner immediately got defensive and raised his voice. If you expect nice, respectable service - GO ELSEWHERE! more

Bought my patio set from here 3 or 4 years ago and have been nothing but pleased. I went to Citysearch to check their store hours, & was astonished to see the reviews. Inside-Out has been exceptionally great to work with every time I've been to their store. They've been right about everything they've told me & I will continue to buy from them. You people should be ashamed! more

I had just moved here from California, and my movers lost/damaged some of my outdoor furniture. Attempting to replace the broken furniture, I found that this store is the only one that carried my brand of patio furniture. Despite the nasty reviews on here, I gave them a shot and was pleasantly surprised. A salesperson, even though I had not purchased my furniture from her store, helped me match what I had, and even called the manufacturer to see if they had any more of my discontinued fabric. They were a great help even though I wasn't their customer, but I will be next time! more

As far as the other reviews on here, I don't understand. I found Inside-Out to be refreshing after all the other places I tried to find wicker furniture. They had more different choices than I'd seen anywhere else and the prices were comparable to other places I'd been. They were extremely helpful to me and they had answers to all my questions. I will definitely buy here again. more

I almost didn't go here after reading the reviews but that would have been a mistake! The salesperson , Jerry, couldn't have been ,nicer, more helpful or more knowledgable. The furniture is such great quality! Nothing like it anywhere else! more

Horrible Horrible 1/28/2012

The guy that runs the place is a COMPLETE JERK! It took 4 MONTHS to get our furniture delivered and he wouldn't tell us where it was in the process or when it was going to be in, wouldn't contact the warehouse, or look in the computer when we called every week after the 6-8 weeks it was SUPPOSED to be delivered. He was so rude on the phone that I wanted to cancel our $3000 purchase. When we were first trying to make a decision on whether the furniture would look good in our house, I took a picture of the colors to make sure. The owner came running over there and said NO PICTURES! It's over priced and the customer service is ... well there IS none. Just found out there is a 24 hour return policy AND a 30% restock fee!! Unbelievable. After 15 WEEKS we are finally getting our furniture today that we purchased in October. The owner must not care much at all about his business. I wouldn't recommend this place to a pit bull. I wish the rating had NEGATIVE stars. It would be a negative 5. more

How are they still in business?!? 11/29/2011

Purchased and/or had repairs at both this place and Mr. T's during same time frame. While furniture from here was beautiful (and, yes, expensive), it did require a couple simple repairs after the delivery people took it out of the box. The owners of this place were monsters when dealing with them,obviously working 10 years beyond their retirement. Sounds harsh but it's accurate. Will NEVER use or recommend these people to anyone - unless they like to be verbally abused. Hateful and sad people. Mr. T's staff was not perfect but a much better experience with an equally nice product. The limited number of high ratings must be from their relatives. more

Worst Customer Service Ever 11/23/2011

Purchased a $1,000 Christmas tree last week--when took out of the box and began to fluff out,several tips on the tree came off. Clearly inferior product. When I called business, Lady stated that they had same problem and that this is normal. Never had a tree that did this and would not expect such. She stated that there was nothing to be done and kept repeating same line--obviously have used many times belore. When I looked on receipt, it says No Returns on Anything--Never been to a business with this policy. Also has wrong number on receipt--Why is that? Worst business I have ever dealt with. Guess it is my loss but please STAY AWAY from this place--it is rotten to the core! more

I have been here several times. I have returned because I like their merchandise. However, I have been in for the last time. The man in charge is as rude as they come. I agree with the others who wonder how this store is still in business. His store would be much more successful if he were to stay away and hire staff who are polite. more

Miserable place and people 9/24/2011

Have gone there twice this year and am DONE. Its pricey, but that is not the problem for me. Its the owners. How have they stayed in business this long??? RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. Its no wonder they rarely have cars in their lot. Very nasty toward customers. more

Horrible Eperience 1/12/2011

A one-star rating would be too high. We were looking for Braxton Culler tables and chairs. My husband called ahead and were told they had the pieces we were looking for. We went there planning to purchase the furniture as we knew what we wanted: just wanted to sit in it and see it in person. when we got there, my husband told the lady we were the people who called. My husband sat down in the chair. In less that three minutes, the saleslady came over and said to us, ""Don't sit in the furniture if you don't intend to buy. You are just price-shopping:. We were both stunned. I explained that we had been looking for this furniture for over nine months and certainly were intending to buy. My husnad sat in another chair and she repeated herself. We decided we had better leave. My husband went up to the fron desk and told a man (we think he was the owner) that we had intended to purchase two dinig sets and he had just lost two sales as the salewoman was so rude. The man raised his arm, pointed to the door and shouted, ""Out, out! Get out right now!"" There were other people in the store. We were not only shocked but embarassed. more

Rude and Embarrassing Customer Service 12/4/2010

Poor Customer Service and Very Rude Salespeople. I walked into the store to purchase Christmas supplies for corporate business event. I was talking with my boss about items to purchase from the store. A Salesman/Owner walked up and told me to turn my cell phone off. I was shocked and in dismay. Another customer turned around and said, ""truly poor salesman"". I put down the items that I was going to purchase and began to walk out the door. I turned around and the salesman came up to me. I stated to him that he was rude and unwelcoming. He told me that there was a sign on the door. As I began to ask to speak to his manager,he put his hand up in the air and said lady in a rude and firm voice. He walked away without apologizing. I left the store. I will not patronize this business again. I will also share my experience to others to spread the word as well. If you are going to be in the retail business, please be aware of what type of service you present to your customer. more
