Problem with my request and their fulfillment- I wanted true knotty pine and got what looks like standard yellow pine. Very few knots with most boards having no knots at all. I accepted the order anyway, but am without a new knotty pine floor to match our existing 100 yr. old floors. more

We are replacing carpet in our newly purchased retirement home in NC. After reading reviews of Hurst Hardwoods on multiple websites, I ordered unfinished 3/4" solid hickory in 3 widths, 2'-10' planks. I needed a quick delivery during a 2-day window in Murphy, NC. I was skeptical about purchasing flooring online, but my experience was flawless. Service was excellent from the initial purchase of samples (prefinished, engineered walnut)to the final transaction. Shipping was reasonably priced and delivery arrived on time with no damages. The flooring was in excellent condition and was easily installed with minimal waste, though installation instructions from the manufacturer could have been clearer. The price of the flooring was significantly lower than anything available locally and much more attractive than higher priced products. I would definite do business with Hurst again. more

Be careful with the #3 common red oak. I was interested in this product because of the cost and because of the rustic appearance, which fit the type of look I was trying to achieve. The product description states "This grade of flooring may also include splits, cracks, open knot holes, broken tongues/grooves, and other natural defects". The other "natural defect" is "burned" edges or edges that are not 3/4' thick. I ordered samples and of the 12 samples sent NOT ONE BOARD DISPLAYED THIS DEFECT! APPROXIMATELY 80 OF THE BOARDS SHIPPED TO ME DISPLAY THIS DEFECT ON THE TONGUE EDGE! This makes for an uneven floor and exposes the edge fo the adjacent board that is 3/4" thick. The description should address this condition and the samples that are sent should also include boards that have this condition but that was not and is not the case. RESPONSE FROM Hurst Hardwoods: This customer says the product was not as advertised but then goes on to say how all of the issues he had were advertised. With the samples we send we try very hard to ship pieces that are a good representation of the product but when compared to an entire floor they may not be able to show all of the details. It is partly for this reason that we describe the product so well on the website. This customer purchased #3 common which is the lowest grade of flooring available. It just sounds like he wanted a higher grade floor but liked the price of the lower grade. We describe this product very well over the phone and on our website because we want to make sure customers know what they are getting and to make sure they are going to be happy. more

Bought a few Hundred Sq. of IPE prefinished . The total cost + shipping was reasonable, the phone service was friendly and the online shopping was easy. even months after install the look of these floors just wows me ! more

The product advertised met or exceeded all my expectations. My experience with the sales person was without exception excellent. Everything promised materialized. Within a short period of time the flooring was delivered arriving all intact. The builder found no damage whatsoever. The installed flooring without question really looks fantastic. I ordered a wood floor for my new man cave. The floor arrived in just over a week. There was a small problem with a threshold i ordered "wrong color" I called and it was taken care of. BTW the floor prices are great! more

I am leary about what I buy on line, however, once I contacted Hurst they were more than competitve, gave me the needed guidance to insure I bought what was right for me, I purchased flooring and sent a sizable deposit, anticipating I would sell my home and start building immediately, well the real estate market is not great so I did not sell my home, I got diagnosed with Cancer so building at this time was put on almost permanent hold, and this is all 2 years later, and they refunded my deposit and appologizsed that it did not go out immediately, The service, people, and everyting I experienced told me that this is a reputable company and will be the first I call for any flooring needs. more
