Houndstooth Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

Far surpassed my expectations. I arranged to have my whole house cleaned and deodorized for an extremely low price. I wondered what to expect. I thought there would be some kind of hassle over the price. They honored their pricing and did a good job, even removing a couple of stains that I didn't expect to come up. My carpets look good, in time for the holidays. more

I love Houndstooth. I've been using this company for years. I figured it's time I wrote a review on them. They've been around a long while and have always done me right with cleaning the carpets and upholstery. I've recommended them several times and my friends have also been real pleased. more

I used Houndstooth carpet cleaning because I recently returned to my home after a 4 year absence and needed my carpets cleaned quickly. The tenants who lived in my home during my absence, left the carpets extremely dirty with pet urine and other very dark nasty stains. I actually thought my only choice was to replace all the carpet but that would have been too expensive. I read all the reviews and was very nervous about calling Houndstooth because the reviews weren't good even though the coupon stated they had an A+ rating. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The technician was very professional and friendly. He pre-treated all the stains and cleaned 8 rooms and stairs in less than 2 hours. The carpet looks AMAZING and it cost was a fraction of what I normally spend with the higher priced national chains. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors. more

I didn't imagine that they could do such good work at such a reasonable price but I decided to chance it. Boy, am I glad I did. Great service! more

I KNOW THIS IS A BIT LONG, BUT PLEASE READ! YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I RECEIVED. I SHOULD HAVE READ UP ON THE REVIEWS BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY!!!\r \r \r I used Hound's Tooth last a couple of weeks ago to have a large room cleaned in my home. The cleaning did not take up any of the stains and the man that came out to clean the carpet was a little rude and over charged me from what they quoted me over the phone. I was not going to complain about any of this, but two days later a very strong mildew smell was coming from that room. It smells terrible!! So, we called Houndstooth and they sent the same man out again and he said he needed to re-clean it.. The day after the second cleaning, the carpet mildew smell was back! I called and and they said they would send someone out. Since this would be the third visit, I asked them what the plan was. I didn't know if cleaning it again would help or if the carpet needed to be replaced. The manager started yelling at me! I was so shocked that I knew nobody would believe me. I told my husband and he called and spoke with the manager and he admitted he yelled at me and was unapologetic! He then yelled at my husband and said he was tired of having to defend himself. I was actually glad that he yelled at my husband so there was no question that he went off the handle with me! \r --Long story short, when the ""expert"" was supposed to come to look at the carpet for the third time to fix it he never showed up. \r Their customer service is unbelievably bad and if I were to speak to someone the way the 'manager' spoke to me, I would lose my job! \r DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!! \r USE NO-RES! My friend recommended them and I should have listened and then I would be having to beg the company to come and fix my mildewed carpet in the room that is unusable now!\r more

Would not recommend, EVER. Mildewed up my neighbors house, then the manager became obscene when we called to complain. We had him on speaker phone and could every word! more

I have my carpets cleaned about twice a year & we have some problem areas where my dogs like to use the bathroom so i know what to expect. they showed up on time but charged me 25 dollars each time he sprayed his "" Rug doctor"" pre treament ! ( yes i saw him pour it out of the jug into his outdoor bug sprayer) Anyhow it went from a 64.00 job to a 175.00 dollar job & it looks & smells worse then before. The stains were not visable unitl after he left & the odor removal & protection is BOGUS ! Left my carpets soaking wet for over a day & dumped all of the water in my upstairs tub ! i could have rented a rug doctor for 40 bucks & did a better job ! Very dissapointed . more

I never got to use them cause they were late!! i had a 10-1 appointment and they didn't call until 1:15 to say that they weren't gonna be there til after 2 sometime!!! What a waste of time, Lucky for me i found another company that could come same day!!! more

I posted this review on another site and I am posting here to make sure no one else makes the same mistake as me of trying to use these people. I will pay more not to use these people. Their ridiculously low price is NOT worth the wasted time, headaches, and simply unprofessional service. Here is my experience with them: I called and made an appointment for a 1-4pm window. I had to call them at 4:30pm to ask where they were. I received a call at 5pm saying that they were really busy and that they would be there in 45 minutes. I then told them to forget about it. I received a call the next day from the manager to apologize and he offered me another $20 off their special if I would reschedule. I rescheduled for the first appointment of the day thinking that there was no way that they could be extremely late to that. They didn't show up at the 8-8:30am window. I called at 9am to ask where they were and the guy on the phone said I would received a callback from a guy in the field. Fourty-five minutes later still no call back so I called again and demanded that the guy on the phone actually be the one to call me back. He soon called me back and told me that the hose of the truck was frozen and that the cleaner was working to get it thawed. I had my doubts on whether or not this was truet. Regardless, I should of received a call earlier to notify me that they would not be on time and an option to reschedule. I wish I could write a review of their actual cleaning, but I never even got to that point. Based on all of my experience with them I wouldn't be surprised if that was a disappointment as well. more

Fully satisfied. No hidden fees at all. They send independent cleaners. So you might not get the same result every time. From my experience best result for the $. Ideal for the annual cleaning. more

The technician was supposed to be at my house between 9-11 a.m. They finally showed up at 12:15, asked for duct tape to tape their equipment before even starting, did a rush job, left my carpets SOPPING wet, and dumped all the dirty water and debris on my driveway. We had to call them back out to vacuum the excess water out. They were supposed to deodorize the carpets since we have pets and now it smells and looks even worse to me. They didn't get spots out where dogs frequently lay (even though my walmart spot cleaner could). I have my carpets cleaned 1-2x a year professionally and they just didn't get the job done. Very disappointed! (the only positive thing was that the technicians that came out were very nice). more

I didn't think they could do it! A good job for such a low price. But they did. They seem to know how to give good value all around. Don't be scared of their price. It is real, it is low, and it is for a good job! Peace out. more

Houndstooth really wasted my time on a airduct cleaning. Maybe they're good with carpet. I wouldn't know for that but I do not recommend them for Airduct service. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING Cons: Poor service, Do not complete the Job more

none of that awful shampooing with this company--they steam clean!--they got up almost every spot I had--and I had a bunch! They also stretched some wrinkles out of my carpet that have been bugging the you-know-what out of me. Houndstooth: I love 'em!!! Pros: steam cleaning more

I called at 9 Am in the morning to have it done, and they were out at my house by noon. Did a good job too! Easy five-stars. Pros: Quick and good Cons: nothing as far as I see more

i have been seeing these guys advertising for years; top ten this, top ten that; and great great prices! I had no idea that they did such a great job! I finally tried them and from now on I use no one else but the good folk of Houndstooth. Pros: awesome Cons: so many coupons in my mailbox! more
