As a new homeowner unfamiliar with Seattle plumbers, I opened up the old phone book when I ran into a kitchen sink drain leak. I got one of the big names in plumbing out (I won't mention their name, but S.W.P may be their initials), and though they did a good job, I felt like I was overcharged ($800 for a new sink trap?) A few months later when I had a bathroom sink leak, I did some research and came across Fox Plumbing. They charged by time and materials, which was very different (and ultimately much less expensive) than the expensive ""book price"" of the previous plumber I used. Moreover, the plumber who came out, Jason, was fast, friendly, professional and his repair was excellent. The dispatcher with whom I set up the appointment was also quite nice. Fox will definitely be my first call in the future . . . though, knock on wood, I hope I won't need to be calling a plumber again anytime soon.
Pros: friendly staff, nice billing model, professional work
Cons: calling for a plumber is rarely expected or pleasant, but fox minimizes the frustration
