Greg Curran Goes Above & Beyond 1/6/2011

My family got caught up in the economic downturn in a big way and found we needed to explore our finance/refinance options for our house. We contacted Greg Curran at First Ohio Banc and couldn't not have been more pleased with his efforts on our behalf. My situation is probably a bit different than most positive reviewers here simply because we did not ultimately get the refinance we needed and hoped for. ...However, that is not a reflection on the efforts of Greg and First Ohio. To the contrary, we felt that he explored every avenue available and put effort over and above that of any other lender we had dealt with. Even though we ultimately did not get our refinance, at the end of the process we knew that if there had been any way possible, Greg would have made it happen. It's that kind of personal attention and dedication we felt he had to us that will make us contact him again when the need arises. more

Chris Tanko helps me save money 12/3/2010

I don't have a lot of time, but if you are thinking of re-financing, go with First Ohio Banc and ask for Chris Tanko. He was polite, friendly, curtious and most of all understood my needs/financial situation and got me the best deal out there. When we came accross some road blocks, he was qucik to come with solutions to make this process run smoother and get us closed asap. Thanks again CT. Happy Holidays!! more

Jeff Mix the most helpfull loan officer yet 12/2/2010

Every time I called for an update or with a question jeff was honest and made sure if he didn't have the answer he would find it and relay it back in a timley manner. I will be telling all my friends about his great service. more

Maria was referred to me by a good friend who told me that she was an excellent loan officer. That was an understatement! Maria was an exceptional loan officer who worked diligently with me to get the best loan under my circumstances. She was a honest person who went the extra for me and really listened. Maria knew the mortgage market very well and was able to guide and explain things in the process. more

Greg Curran- professional and realistic! 11/28/2010

Me an my wife were in the market to buy a house shortly after our marriage in 2008. Greg expained that we may be able to qualify for a FHA loan. What is that? Ask him and I am sure he will explain it to you as he did to us. He didn't make any empty promises, pull my credit w/ asking or refuse send me a good faith estimate. I have no idea what these other peoples experiences really were but I have to believe most didn't have a shot at a decent rate or were simply trying to get to the end of a mortgage rate rainbow. Anyway, we had a great experience. We do not plan to refinance but if we do it will be with Greg and First Ohio Banc. more

Shopping for a mortgage to refinance our home in Westlake. Not something we were looking foreward to, but rates have been dropping and it was time. Spoke with our local bank and the current lender, both were very slow in returning calls. Our local bank pulled our credit and because there were some issues with it, we were told that they couldn't help us. I received a letter from First Ohio and called them. I spoke with Mike Mulhall who was very helpful. He took our information and within 24 hours called us back to go over the information and we had a loan package the next day. It was easy and quick. Mike and Doug answered our questions and did what they said they would do. We closed in less than 3 weeks. We got a great rate and were able to save quite a bit of money. We have since referred family and friends to them. If you want to work with someone who is straight forward and honest ask for Mike Mullhall at the independence office. 216-642-8900. more

Positive Experience! 11/23/2010

I received a solicitation from First Ohio Banc & Lending just three weeks ago, offering two programs that I didn't think I qualified for. After making contact with Doug Mathews, I became a believer. Frankly, after becoming frustrated by conversations with other companies, working with Doug was very refreshing. Very professional, told the truth, and did what he (and the company) said they would. They closed my loan in under three weeks. I ended up saving enough money that i can pay my house off ten years sooner than what I expected. Kudos all the way around. more

Refinancing a great success! 11/20/2010

I recently refinanced through First Ohio Banc & Lending, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to finance or refinance, as rates are incredibly low right now. I worked with Matt Bohach and Kim Massey. They were fantastic - kind, informative, knowledgeable, quick, helpful - I could go on and on. My first experience was not nearly as worry-free!! more

I had the most professional experience with First Ohio Banc & Lending. At first, I was very hesitant as there are many companies out there right now making empty promises. Every thing they said they would be able to do, they did. I applied and closed my loan in less than 2 1/2 weeks which was also something they said they could do. I would refer anyone to this company without a moments hesitation. Ask for Andy Toth. He will help if you meet the qualifications. I look at some of the other negative reviews and I must wonder if perhaps the people who wrote them didn't actually qualify and then were angry at the firm. If Andy Toth researches your specs and then says he can help, he will. Hope this review helps people feel more confident as most home owners these days receive bundles of mail from lenders who say they can help when, in fact, they may not and may just take you for a ride you don't want to be on. The one I went on with First Ohio and Andy Toth was wonderful and it changed my life. more

Lending the old fashioned way 10/20/2010

Our family went through some significant credit challenges in 2008-2009 due to my job situation. After a referral from a friend, I contacted by a licensed loan professional, Sonya, from First Ohio Banc & Lending. She assured me my credit situation was not going to get in the way of receiving a great loan. She was right. First Ohio worked with me to improve my score substantially. When I recieved my loan approval, I did not believe it. After our loan closed, only then did it sink in. I had just gotten an interest rate and payment that saves me about $5,500 a year. Great service, great program, highly recommended. more

After being denied by three seperate lenders for what other companies told me was to hard of a loan to get done First Ohio closed my loan in just two weeks! more

High Closing Cost!!! 10/16/2009

If you don't believe me just ask them to send you a copy of the good faith estimate. With processing fees, underwriting fees, administration fee, courier fee, title closing fee, attorney fees your looking at $5,000 before you even hang up the phone. And that's not even including their origination and discount fee either. Save your money and equity and stay away from this company and go to your local bank. more

Great rates 10/16/2009

There rates were better than my bank. The closing costs were less. I closed my loan in one week best experence I had doing a mortgage would refer to my friends. Pros: closed in one week more

After receiving a letter in the mail, I called First Ohio Banc for more info on refinancing our property. I spoke with one of their loan reps who was very rude and condescending. more
