I was looking for a place to rent in Venice and found Elly Nesis ads on the web. I like their properties so I scheduled an appointment. Their service was very good. I finally rented a very nice and affordable place near the beach and have lived there for over a year. Everything has been great. more

Look at their BBB rating. F\r \r I have lived at a property managed by Elly Nesis for 2 and a half years, always paid rent on time, never had a complaint against me, and have always been respectful of my neighbors. After all this time, after my second year lease ended, I was told that they are ""no longer renewing leases at my property"" and that my rent would be going up $350 overnight. Elly Nesis skirts the rent control laws by offering a ""rent discount"" and making the actual rent higher on the lease so that at any given time they can decide to raise the rent by triple the legal limit. \r I asked if it was something we could negotiate to come to a compromise, as I knew that with the new rate, not only were my neighbors paying less, but there are also units sitting open in the building, and was told no. I then gave 30 days notice, only to find a week later an ad to rent my unit at a LOWER rent than what I was paying WITH a rent discount for a lease. This is the WORST property management company I have EVER dealt with, and as a result myself, and two more of my neighbors are all moving out of the building. This is not even to mention the bogus ""late payment"" charges that were sent repeatedly, as well as inflated maintenance bills with bogus charges that I had to take my time out of my work day to dispute and clear up. \r \r DO NOT RENT FROM ELLY NESIS. more

City search is being manipulated by marketing firms who contact businesses with negative feedback and offer to correct the problem for a fee with bogus positive reviews. Look for bogus reviewers that have 100+ all 5 star reviews and an illogical list of business reviews: multiple dentists, auto dealerships, real estate companies. more

After having dealt with this company, I am very suspicious of all these positive reviews because this company would go out of their way to have employees write false reviews. With that having been said, be forewarned - If you rent from Elly Nesis consider your overpriced security deposit an investment into his pockets. This man owns the repair company that will clean and fix your apartment and charges insane rates, no matter how perfect you left your apartment. The buildings might be nice to live in. But get ready for Hell on Earth once you decide to move out. Just walk away. more

If you want to enjoy where you live then don't rent from this horrible man. He will haunt you in your worst nightmares. - He's uncooperative - Uncaring - Will do only the very minimum - Will do repairs but force you to pay for them What is most confusing is how on earth did all these folks on here give him ""high"" marks? I have lived a block away from the beach at 101 Dudley, one of Elly Nesis Properties since 2009, and have nothing but positive remarks about Elly and his staff. They are very professional, and quick to respond. Elly is frequently found at the property doing his routine inspections to maintain the building in its best possible condition. more

My apartment is beautiful with granite countertops, nice flooring, stainless and black appliances and lots and lots of windows! The view of DTLA in the evenings is just spectacular. more

I am currently renting from Elly Nesis Co and have been for about a month. I must say so far so good. The application process was simple and quick. Edgar at the office was a pleasure to deal with and always responsive, I have met Elly on a few occassions and I like his style. He is very hands on and involves himself with all aspects of managing the property. Walk around Venice for a while and you will see that it is obvious he has a good reputation - he manages nearly half of all the rentals in the area! Being a Real Estate Broker and Community Manager myself, I understand what it takes to build a successful company and hold a high reputation in this industry. Hats off to you Elly! more

I moved here from New York a little over a year ago and moved into one of the Elly Nesis' properties on the westside. I found and moved into my place within two weeks with no problems. After only a year of residency, I had to move again due to my job relocating but I was more than happy when I received my deposit just within 3 weeks of my departure. more

I moved out recently from an Elly Nesis building and before I moved an associate met with me and did an inspection and let me know exactly what deductions would be made. I than went and did what repairs were required and all was well. They acted professionally and according to the code. more
