I have lived at a property managed by Elly Nesis for 2 and a half years, always paid rent on time, never had a complaint against me, and have always been respectful of my neighbors. After all this time, after my second year lease ended, I was told that they are ""no longer renewing leases at my property"" and that my rent would be going up $350 overnight. Elly Nesis skirts the rent control laws by offering a ""rent discount"" and making the actual rent higher on the lease so that at any given time they can decide to raise the rent by triple the legal limit. \r
I asked if it was something we could negotiate to come to a compromise, as I knew that with the new rate, not only were my neighbors paying less, but there are also units sitting open in the building, and was told no. I then gave 30 days notice, only to find a week later an ad to rent my unit at a LOWER rent than what I was paying WITH a rent discount for a lease. This is the WORST property management company I have EVER dealt with, and as a result myself, and two more of my neighbors are all moving out of the building. This is not even to mention the bogus ""late payment"" charges that were sent repeatedly, as well as inflated maintenance bills with bogus charges that I had to take my time out of my work day to dispute and clear up. \r
