Dr. GENTRY and the staff at East Bay Women's Health are amazing. After seeking many doctors' opinions on issues I was having, Dr. Gentry was the only one to thoroughly evaluate me. She found the problem on my first visit, scheduled the surgery, and performed it herself. I continued to go to her and she took great care of me during my pregnancy and she delivered my first baby who was a preemie. She took time to visit and check on me and my son each day I was in the hospital. She genuinely cares about her patients. I would never trust anyone else to be in charge of my care and even though my insurance changed I haven't been satisfied with my medical care since leaving her. I'm actively trying to change my insurance to be back with her and I recommend her to EVERYONE I know!!! more

As a surgeon, she is GREAT. She is also kind, smart and takes time to answer my questions. I have mixed feelings about the office staff and office management. I think as a surgeon she is great. I don't know if I'd deal with the office in general for a yearly exam. more

She was warm, reassuring and very, very helpful throughout my ordeal. She visited me practically every single night during my three week stay in the hospital during the holiday season, and was there to personally do my emergency c-section. Most OBs do not even attend your delivery these days if it happens after hours or on weekends when they are not on call. I will always be a big fan of Dr. Gentry's. There aren't that many good female OBGYNs in the East Bay to begin with, fewer who are African American, fewer still who have been through infertility and IVF and high risk pregnancy personally. Dr. Gentry is beautiful, kind, and brilliant. I cannot say enough good things about her. more

There is a history of cervical cancer in my family, so I was referred to Dr Gentry by my primary care doctor when one of my yearly ""female"" exams came back abnormal. Dr Gentry is knowledgeable, patient, and caring. I am glad to have found her and her office. In fact, the office is beautifully decorated, making it a calming place to be. Overall, I am really pleased with Dr Gentry's practice, and I will refer others to her. more

As always , Dr. Gentry & her Staff are conscientious, amicable, kind & caring. They were helpful, with another medical matter & concerns, other than my the wellness of my Reproductive Health. I appreciate them so much, for putting me at ease about the matter. Many doctors & their staffs brush matters off, but are aware & attentive to all needs. I truly thank & appreciate them for it. After being told I had to get a hysterectomy because of a 9.9cm fibroid I decided to get a second opinion. A friend refered me to dr. Gentry. I am so happy Dr. Gentry is ahead of her time and i get to keep my uterus. It's refreshing having a doctor that knows her stuff. I look forward to my surgery and feel confident that I am in good hands. more

If you are one of the unfortunate few who have an extremely painful, debilitating disease called endometriosis I'm writing to tell you Dr. Gentry was my holy grail. I can only speak from my own experience. Dr. Gentry as an empathetic human being and more importantly, in my case, a skilled surgeon. Dr. Gentry has many tools in her toolbox to help. When I walked into her office four years ago she did a full assessment and when I asked her if she could help me, like I had asked so many gynecologists before her, she immediately said, I can certainly do better than this. And she did. She carefully performed five surgeries. All of the doctors and professional staff I spoke with about the surgery were in awe of Dr. Gentry and had told me before and after the surgery that I am in good hands and she is a very talented and skilled surgeon.Dr. Gentry gets my full endorsement. more

Dr. Gentry is very sweet, so smart and the GREATEST! I read about her and when it came time to have my hysterectomy, I looked her up. I felt so safe and comfortable, knowing I was in good hands. more

But I thought it was me, although I haven't been in the office in a long time that one particular office staff member always gave me these crazy looks. But the main thing is that Dr. Gentry is awesome! I want to bring my daughters to her. I would recommend her in a minute of any one needing to fine a great OBGYN. I see a lot of people had a long wait time in waiting room, but it's worth it, because you know you will be in great hands with Dr. Gentry. more

I came in for my D&C appt with Dr. Gentry (first time we had met) and she insisted on doing a sonogram before the procedure. She found what she thought was a heartbeat and insisted I go to the lab to confirm before doing anything else. She was right.My healthy baby girl is now 1 year old. There is no way to explain my gratitude to Dr. Gentry. You cannot imagine the emotion that comes over me when I think of what I almost lost. more

Dr Gentry is so awesome, I don't even care than I often have to wait over an hr. She's thorough and makes sure the job is done right and that all your needs are taken care of. more

I thought Dr. Gentry was great. I was expecting to have to wait far longer than I did, so I grateful to get in and out in a reasonable timeframe. She listened and she was thorough in her suggestions and evaluation. I would have liked her to delve more into my family and health history to uncover issues I might not have thought impt to raise, but she did address my short list of questions very well. I am grateful. The nurse or practitioner who took my vitals, however, was terrible!. She was obviously having a bad day because her mood was foul, she was curt, and visibly annoyed. I didn't think it was directed at me as the patient, but given this was my first visit, I was reluctant to ask her questions or do anything to be on the receiving end of her funk. Not sure what was going on, and we all have challenging days, but her inability to put on her game face/demeanor for the patient demonstrated a lack of professional maturity. When researching Dr. Gentry as a GYN, I noticed similar comments about the staff from others on independent reviews, so it might be an issue worth addressing. She's fantastic! I knew she would be thorough and honest, and that's why I went to her as soon as I suspected I might have a problem. She not only got to the heart of the problem but was reassuring as well. I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to her. more

I had a wonderful experience. Some people have mentioned their wait time was bad, but I didn't have an issue. I arrived 15 mins as I was supposed to, and I went in before I finished filling out paperwork. I got changed and had just enough time to finish the documents before Dr. Gentry walked in. I have no complaints. more

In 6+ years I have only experienced a long wait once in her office and that was due to an emergency with another mom/baby. The staff was very good about letting me know what was happening. Most of my visits are pretty timely - but I also mentally plan to be there for as long as it takes more

I also loved my regular visits with her nurse practitioner Kathy but she has left the practice so I really hope they replaced her with someone as wise and capable as Kathy was. more

I have been a patient of Dr. Gentry and her staff since 2006. I've had two surgeries with Dr. Gentry and she was amazing for both. I can not thank her enough for the life changing work she did for me. After a labor and delivery Dr. on-call sewed up my girly parts way way too tight Dr. Gentry gave me my sex life back. The second was this past November to remove an ovarian cyst. She is an excellent surgeon and followed up with me in person several times after surgery. more
