The Right Decision 11/11/2010

The only reason why I called early options was because my sister recommended them. When I found myself in this situation, I called my sister. She told me that she went to early options and I should definitely go there. We made the appointment together and the girl answered all of our questions. I was able to go on Saturday and get it taken care of before work on Monday. The staff was very nice. The doctor spent some one on one time with me and she explained both procedures to me. I decided to go with the aspiration procedure because it felt like the right decision for me. I was at the office for about an hour. My nurse was very sweet. I really became nauseous and she was very attentive. I really appreciated my whole experience. If you need to make this kind of decision, this is the place to come to. : ) more

Decisions, Decisions... 11/4/2010

All I remember is walking into this office and feeling so much anxiety and just thinking whether or not this was the right thing to do. From the very moment you walk in everyone from the person up front to the very doctor who performs the procedure is so kind and make you feel a way that you can't even explain. They comfort you from the moment you walk in to the very second you walk out. They make sure that you're ok mentally, physically but overall they don't make you feel as if you're being judged. Am I proud of what I did??? Absolutely not but mistakes happen and I just thank god for putting this place along with these people in my path to help me get through it. I would definitely recommend to a friend the same way it was recommended to me. You guys are truly amazing and thank you for helping me get through one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to do. more

very helpful 11/4/2010

I know firsthand how hard it is. However, as soon as we walked into the office we were greeted with a warm smile. The staff was very helpful and most important my husband was able to stay with me. I would definately recommend this office to anyone. :) more

Trust Me 11/4/2010

I'm am outraged! I came to this office a little over 8 months ago with my 21 year old daughter. She wanted to terminate an unwanted pregnancy and I wanted to be by her side. It was a small and private office. We sat in the reception area for a few minutes before we were called inside. Everyone at the office was very helpful, especially the doctor. For every question my daughter had, I had two! Everyone was very compassionate and considerate to my daughter's needs. So, when my best friend told me she was pregnant, I referred her to Early Options. She called me about an hour later to tell me about the previous review and how horrible it was! I really don't understand how anyone could have anything negative to say about this place. The only thing that seems to be true about this review is that you need a key to go to the lady's room! The building is very clean. I live in Yonkers and it was not difficult to drive to the office. The office wasn't crowded. The doctor was very knowledgeable. Everyone was very patient. And the list just goes on and on! I asked my girlfriend to trust me and make the appointment! more

Citysearch removed my review! 11/3/2010

Citysearch removed my review of early options! Aapparently earlyoption dont have negative reviews becuase they complain to city search and get them removed? ill post my review again. if citysearch removes it, then it will completely degrade the quality of their obvious biased review system. to the city search staff, please dont remove this, the public have a right to know about my first hand account with early options! im just trying to legitimately help those who think this place isnt who they say they are! all those other reviews are all written the same style and probably the accounts used free email accounts like gmail. after i posted, coincidentally, 3 more positve reviews where posted! dont let early options manipulate your system or your review system! here is original review - oh my goodness! that one review was so true. i experienced the same exact thing 2 weeks ago! if it wasnt true, then why is the medical director getting defensive? where was this highly skilled mdical director for my appointment? this clinic is a scam! they also have a fake office picture and a fake address! the office looks so much different and decrepit . they dont have any clinic in manhatan. its in deep downtown brooklyn. if you dont believe me, call them like you want to make an appointment and they themselves will confirm what im saying about the address! they are fakes and they brag about how good they are, but they dont compare to a real women's clinic. they also keep all your ""medical waste"" outside their office door for the whole world to kick over. arent they supposed to put medical waste somewhere safe and out of reach of public? I even took a picture with my blackberry of that metal medical waste box sitting outside the door next to elevator and ill upload it as soon as i can find out how. i also had to pee when i was waiting over an hour with other gurls in a closet sized waiting room and i did need a bathroom key, so what the other gurl was saying was true. true true true. sure the people are nice, but once you pay them (I paid $600!) its no more nice. that one review from that one girl said the doctor was going to go for a walk with them and discuss her relationship is so BS. these poeple are desperate for business even if it means they will go to dishonest and unethical lengths to get it! stay away. if it smells like bullsh*t, walks like bullsh*t and talks like bullsh*t, like my mum always said to me, it's probably bullsh*t. go to any reputable clinic, or somewhere else where there are real doctors and nurses who know how to handle an emergency if there is one. I would never waste my time here if i wasn't genuinely concerned for my sisters. Stay Safe! more

The Early Options Experience 11/1/2010

I am the medical director of Early Options. I wanted to respond to the one star review written by someone who has never been to our office to plant the idea of suspicion that our reviews are fraudulent. Our office is dedicated to providing high quality care in an ethical way. Our real patients and their partners take the time and effort to write 4 and 5 star reviews. more

Previous patient -- will always choose EO! 11/1/2010

My jaw is on the floor at the last reviewers comments. I am a patient who has been to Early Options a few times over the last years, twice for aspiration procedures and other times for Gyn and birth control visits. It's hard to express what it means that I've been able to form relationships with the providers there, that every phone call and visit is professional and that I never feel judged. They have been available for whatever things come up and always squeeze me in within a day or two. I've always hesitated to speak with my Primary Care doc about my abortions, but I always felt that I was getting the best possible care with Early Options and didn't need to share the information. When I came in for my second procedure a few days ago, my circumstances were more difficult than the first time -- relationship ending, a lot of sadness. The doctor sat with me when I cried, she always made me feel like I was on my own clock - at one point she told me she'd make a slot for me later in the day if I needed to go for a walk. I feel protective of this place like it's my sister. As I process my feelings about this time, I find the procedure is a smaller piece of the whole picture. What my experience at EO has given me is the space to process my feelings, rather than dreading the procedure or feeling like I need to recover from the physical experience. My emotions get to take center stage rather than fear or anxiety. I unequivocally recommend this place to any woman. I can't imagine a more discrete setting. I've never seen a protester and always felt that I could come and leave on my own without question. The place offers one of the more unusually comfortable and personal health visits I've ever had. more

early painful 10/28/2010

i had 2 abortion here. first i tried the pill. girl, was that a mistake! i bled for 3 weeks, and the cramping was utterly painful for a week straight. i lost sleep, i couldn't eat! their after aftercare sucks! they rush you off the phone and are disinterested! and i only tried to call them twice. its not like i was harassing them or nothing. if you try to scedhule a followup, they tell you go to your prvate gyn!!! the second time, now a year and a half later, i tried the vacuum way. they said its not painful, bullsh*t!. thy also said instant recovery, but thats bullsh*t also. their great at getting your money. nothing more. there is only ONE doctor there. no nurses, no licesnced medical staff. no one! they also said it was private! bullsh*t! i was there with 8 other girls. sure i didnt know what they where there for, but considering they dont make appointments for anything else, its clear their a cheesy abortion clinic like all the rest. the doctor isnt even a GYN! They dont even have a private bathroom! I had to get the bathroom key and wait for someone else from another office finished! you much better off going to a REAL abortion specialist, not some hole in the wall in the middle of brooklyn, in some dirty building. And definitely get the anesthesia and other pain meds another clinic would give you. you wont even know what happened, and in 2 days your back to normal. this early options place is a scam. dont do it to yourself girls! those other reviews here are mostly bullsh*t, probably written by early option staff! more

Early Options 9/13/2010

Fez toda a diferenca!! Hoje fazem 3 dias que fiz a aspiracao e me sinto otima! Eu recomendo 100% Early Options! Eu estou super satisfeita com o atendimento e com o procedimento! Obrigada mais uma vez `a equipe toda que me atendeu!! more

The best 8/4/2010

Hi. I can honestly can go on and on about how pleasant this experience was (despite how unpleasant this could be of a situation) - but I will keep it simple and short. Early Options is the best of the best. Not only was the entire staff top-notch, kind and caring, but the procedure way surpassed my expectations as far as how quick, painless, and easy it was. I went into this with some fear of pain, discomfort and the like (because I had read many reviews about this beforehand - I had the aspiration procedure done) but when I was finished I really had to ask myself and the doctor, ""Is that it?"" Look, going through something like this is never easy, it can really stink. But when you have places like this that make the experience easier to deal with, with options that are practically painless, and caring staff who make it that much more comfortable, it truly is a blessing. It saddens me there are not more facilities of this kind in the area, but at least one does exist. So if you find yourself in the same situation, know that there is somewhere to go where you will be treated and taken care of very very well. I wish them the best and I hope they continue to help many others in the future as they have helped me. Remember, mistakes do happen, you live and you learn, but you don't have to suffer because of it. more

The Unknown 6/19/2010

Needless to say, but saying it anyway, I was truly nervous (for obvious reasons). However, as soon as I walked into the office I was greeted by a smiling face and a friendly greeting. The office has a clean, bright & relaxed atmosphere. more

SAFEST AND BEST EXPERIENCED SERVICE !!!!!!!!!! 6/10/2010

I come from a Muslim faith, and recently JUNE 8TH I found out after 2 months into my Engagement, that I'm expecting and am already almost 7 weeks into my pregnancy. I decided that i need to terminate and came in on Thursday June 10,2010. This was a very hard decision to make knowing that I am a year away from graduating college until im ready to settle in other words can't have a baby until I'm married - norms & morals speaking ! . I had a great feeling at first just to experience the earlyy stage of motherhood however only to know it lasted 7 weeks...I wish I could either rewind time and prevent this sin or move time forward so i can happily leave the center without the abortion with the hope to see this baby who marks a memory of our love... Unfortunately time and destiny were not on my side speaking as of today and hence We had to quickly terminate the pregnancy before suffering any consequences. As I walked into this private office, the minute i stepped inside and spoke to the reception a lot of my worries were gone in terms of the hospitality of service. The assistant and doctor were both very friendly and supportive all through out this terrible experience of losing my child. However, if your in for an early pregnancy that you no longer wish to keep due to your personal choice or circumstances, EARLY OPTIONS is the way to go !!!!!! All female staffed which is great because it takes a woman to understand another woman no matter where she comes from. Its the inevitable experience and agony we can share here together. The doctor was very gentle as i had a aspiration method procedure done. I did feel a lot of pain but everyone's body responds differently. The assistant was with me through out the procedure the whole time by comforting me to the best of her ability. My fiance was there and that's when reality hit us .... =(( Ladies, I would recommend Early Options to anyone out their for the best service, friendly and supportive staff, Board Certified Doctors, clean environment, SAFE and EARLY abortion methods without any surgical procedures at all. I googled Abortion clinics and this showed up. I got my procedure done in Brooklyn. Good Luck Ladies !!!! - BEBE 786 Pros: friendly supportive staff, clean enviroment, board certified Cons: losing your baby =(((( more

They were there for me when I was away... 5/28/2010

I found out that I was pregnant on April 19, 2010. I was 4 days late... and I took the plan b so I assumed that it messed up my flow. But something told me to buy a test. During my lunch break, I got the test, and it was positive. I was freaking out. I was crying at work. I told the guy that I last slept with and he said he was willing to accept whatever I decide to do. I couldn't keep it. I knew that I wouldn't be able to take care of it. I want my child to live a life, I knew I couldn't. I was looking at a private doctor that can do the early abortion, but he wasn't available for evaluation for the next 2 months! Greg (changed his name) found this place by typing ""early abortions new york city"" and found this place. At first I was a little iffy. But then looking at planned parenthood while the places are crowded, the crazy mob... I decided to call early options. I told the lady when my period was and she said I might be too early, but she set me up an appointment on monday. The days passed and I was freaking out. I was mostly worried because I was going away to miami for the weekend (the appointment was on 25th.. I was leaving for miami for 30!) Monday came, and I come in to the office with Greg. Place was small, I never expected this offcie to be a clinic. The receptionist, everyone was amazing! They did the tests, explained everything that was going to happened, what was even more greater was that Greg was by my side the whole time... I asked them if I will recover by the time I go to miami and they told me yes go have fun!!! I was relieved... the procedure happened... the doctor said that I was way too early but she sees a sac so the procedure started. Greg was next to me, held my hand the whole time. I get bad menstrual cramps all my life, but the cramps that I experienced for those couple of seconds were just a little bit worse. But they didn't last long at all! Just couple of seconds. After it was done, I just started to cry. Not tears of regret, but relief. Sorry for this long story, but it will be worth it. During my visit to the clinic, when I mention to them about me going away to Miami for the weekend, they gave me a travel package for whatever happens to call them and they would tell me what to use in the envelope. When I landed to Miami, I experienced really bad cramps and I started to bleed alot. I called them, answered their questions, and I took the isoprofin (the high dose tynenol, I cant spell) and she told me if it doesnt get better to take a vicodin that came with it. The next day, early in the morning, I got a phone call from the doctor to check up on me!!! I was so suprised. She asked me how I was doing, if the pain was there. I told her that I was feeling so much better!!! The whole point of this is that they are there for you no matter what. Even though your hundred miles away, they are just a phone call away. To all the girls that are pregnant and dont know where to go, I know your scared... dont be. Everything will be ok. Early Options helped me. And they can help you. I dont know if they remember me, I was the girl that was talking about how excited I am to go to Miami... thank you. You gave my life back again. Oh... and to those nosey people that call people baby killers... IM NOT SORRY!!! MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!!! GET A JOB!!! Pros: special attention, good listeners, there for you Cons: nothing con! more

As good as something like this can be... 5/21/2010

I was referred to Early Options by my midwife after it became clear that I had a missed miscarriage. I had thought I was 11 weeks pregnant, but the baby had died around week 6. Devastated, I had a tough time even making it to the clinic, and going through with what had to be done. I'm sure the procedure is emotionally draining no matter what the situation, and my partner and I were no exception. We were given the time and space to cry, rest, talk and ask questions as we needed. The staff was excellent - the nurse in particular had a lot of empathy and coached me through the procedure beautifully. It was actually more painful than I expected (so much of what you read about it is just you're in and out, it's painless, etc.) This is probably much to do with my emotional state - I couldn't sleep at all the night before, was an emotional wreck and was still in shock about the whole thing. They also mentioned I had a healthy/strong uterus - making the contractions/cramping stronger - so the pain may have been worse. The initial pain was the worst - then once I was used to it I was able to breathe through and anticipate what was going on. The nurse was really helpful and caring throughout this. After the procedure I felt a bit crampy, but was able to rest up - drink some tea and relax before heading home. They treat you with so much respect and care - the heat pack can come home with you, as well as a host of directions about what to expect when you get home (given both verbally and in a handout). I felt safe and cared for here. Although I hope I never need to go back, I am grateful for the service they provided and would recommend them to anyone who has had an incomplete or missed miscarriage or who is looking for a discrete and caring environment for a pregnancy termination. Pros: staff, office, attitude Cons: a tough thing to have to go through anywhere... more

Seriously,... believe the reviews. 5/12/2010

So I was a little scared going to this place, because honestly, it has too many 5 star reviews for a place that does pregnancy terminations. I went there, and my boyfriend was stuck in traffic on the bqe. They were very understanding and let the other people go in front of me until he arrived. When I walked in, the receptionist was really nice and asked me how i was feeling, and that if I had too much nausea i can take one of the lollipops they had to help. Once I spoke to the nurse, she even said they can give me a pill for the nausea, but I declined. During the actual procedure, I was terrified. My bf was just as scared, and while he sat next to me and held my hand, I couldnt get my mind away from what was going on and started crying. However, the nurse was AMAZING!! She and even the doctor, started asking me about school, work, and what I had planned for the week, in the friendliest of tones. It really did get me through it. Most of the pain came from the dialators they used to open your cervix, but that was like 5 seconds of sharp fading pain. I really debated coming here or to the hospital, because in the hospital they can put you to sleep. But I was scared that the doctors would be careless since I was sleeping anyways. Honestly it wasnt that bad. I am currently having the lightest of periods, which is great, as years ago I took the ru-486 and the bleeding and constant clots were really traumatizing. I also left with a 6 month prescription of Nuvaring. So all in all, if you are caught in this horrible predicament, and choose to have a termination, this has to be one of the best places to go to. Pros: Were very understanding, and sweet more

best experience during a hard time 3/28/2010

I went to early options about a year ago and meant to write a review then- also, I see a lot of people being skeptical on this site, so I thought I'd help out with that! When I found out I was pregnant it was very difficult to find information about where I could go besides Planned Parenthood (a place I think is soo important and I'm so happy they exist, and I've gone to PP for years when I didn't have insurance but found the experience a bit jarring, and knew emotionally I couldn't handle that level of stress during that time). My regular OBGYN recommended EO. So the nitty gritty: - small office. they actually spend time to explain everything, sit down with you, walk you through the whole process, answer questions, my boyfriend was with me the whole time and also asked a lot of questions, they will NOT RUSH YOU out the door like most doctors, they don't judge, they make you feel comfortable, clean rooms, friendly and knowledgeable assistants, phone receptionist friendly, friendly-intelligent doctor who sits down with you as well and takes the time to get to know you. I wish all doctors were like that. For a medical experience that was very sad and hard for me, it was the most positive I could have experienced. yes, it's expensive, it was $600 but I was able to put in on my medical spending account- so free for me. the actual aspiration is quick, and painful (sharp cramping). Afterwards I was cramping intensely for about a full day. If I remember this was because we terminated very early in the pregnancy. A year later, I am healthy and much more financially stable and got married and we're now ready for a family. We were not ready a year ago and I am still glad we went through the procedure as it was the best decision. so EO is a safe place, where you will not be judged, and will be treated with respect and dignity and privacy. The office is like any other midtown office- as if you're going to the dentist's office or something, without crazy pro-lifers blocking the door. Pros: friendly, private, personal, quick Cons: somewhat expensive (but so worth it) more

if you need an abortion, this is the place 3/24/2010

As hard as every abortion is for a woman, early options makes it much easier with this very gentle procedure.\r The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable not only on the medical side but also with more alternative ways for women to deal with abortion, protection and strengthen themselves after the procedure, open for questions and having time to answer them.\r more

great place very nice people 3/13/2010

The service was great/. The doctor and the female assistant was so nice and understanding. I really recommend this place. Pros: great staff more

Much Needed Peace of Mind 2/14/2010

When I learned I was pregnant, I did not have the reaction that other women - who are ready and in a good, stable place to raise a child - experience. I was an emotional wreck, and when a friend said she had seen the Early Options Web site and encouraged me to make an appointment, I had no idea just how caring and exceptional the staff would be. They made a seemingly unbearable situation as tolerable as it could be, and I know I wouldn't have had the same experience had I gone to a busy clinic. From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease; the waiting room is very calming and tranquil - it's almost like being in a spa lounge. Although I did spend a good amount of time in the office from start to finish (about 1.5 hours), I was so relieved by how quickly the procedure went, and how the staff put me at ease. I knew I made the right choice, and even though I ended up spending money out of pocket, I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. Thank you for taking such good care of me during one of the most difficult times in my life. Pros: Caring and friendly staff; unbelievable kindness Cons: Some insurance plans are not accepted more
