It is always amazing to me when a company comes within an inch of getting a superb review, and then completely falls on their face. We rented a townhouse near Eagle and Ustick in July of 2020. We had just moved here from Georgia to be near our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. We were in an Air BNB, and basically had 10 days to find a place to rent while we looked for a home. When we viewed this unit and like it. The agent Debby took us to the side and told us if there were no applications yet, and if we put in a qualifying application, we would get it. We immediately sat in our car, and submitted an application. We were approved the next day, and moved in two days later. We did have some challenges, but the management company took care of them based on the approval of the owner. We spent a year in the unit, and had a pleasant time. We purchased a house, and moved into it in June. That gave us a month to clean the unit, and prepare it to be returned to DJW Management. And clean we did, top to bottom. Any hanger hole was filled and sanded. We had paint matched to fix any mark that would not wash off, as well as touch up any spot we found. We cleaned and deodorized the townhouse top to bottom. It was in better and cleaner shape then when we moved in. On the day of the walk through, my wife met with Debby. The ONLY thing Debby said was that the carpets needed to be clean. We do have a Dog and a Cat, of which both hardly shed and never ever marked the carpet in any way. We conceded to having the carpets professionally cleaned. Debby said that was all that needed to be done. Imagine my surprise when I receive the final statement. There was also a $70 charge for cleaning! Of course the owner will get on here and say something about me, yet I don't care. When I confronted Debby about this here response was, and I quote: "Good Morning, unfortunately I do not determine charges. I take my notes, and turn in the photos and then turn ithem(sic) into the office". Well Debby, you have no integrity. more

Terrible experience! 8/16/2019

RENTER BEWARE!! I moved here from out of state and found a brand new house for rent online. I didn't think much about the property mgt company because it was a new property and why would I care. I have excellent credit, income etc. I could get any property I chose, provided it was available. I received the rental with no problem. Well, my issues came when I had to break the lease early. I already knew I would forfeit my full $1500 deposit and have to pay rent until they re-rented the property. No problems with that. We paid that with no concern. My issues came about when I received a $300 carpet cleaning bill and nearly $300 in repairs. Mind you, I stayed in this brand new house 6 months. I work full time and barely used the house. I hired a professional cleaning service to insure the house was spotless and in the same condition I received it in. When I did the final walk-through check out with the rental agent, she even remarked how the unit looked perfect and she found no issues. We signed off on the final walk through form and thought we were done. So, why did after the fact we receive a bill for carpet cleaning and repairs?? Good questions, right? I called the office hoping to speak with someone about this. I was quickly told by the person who answered that they do not take any questions over the phone and that all questions must be made through email communication. OKAY!?!?! So, I put together a detailed e-mail trying to understand why we would be charged all these various charges that were not disclosed in our final walk through. Their response - they referenced the lease which basically states that every property will be subject to a carpet cleaning fee. It doesn't disclose for how much and the way it's written seems to imply that it only happens when there is more than average wear or soil. In our case - these carpets were as new as the day we moved in. The repairs - they sent us an invoice showing very minor repairs that were not pointed out in the walk through and the invoice didn't even look like it came from a professional company. The parts and labor for the repairs were insanely inflated and unbelievable. As I continued to email back to the property mgt company, they continued to respond with "we have provided you everything we are required by law and will not make any changes". They didn't even have the courtesy to answer many of my specific questions. They wouldn't even give me a copy of the walk through form that I signed!! Upon many requests in email I asked for a simple phone call to discuss the matter. It never happened. After weeks of emails, I feel forced to pay the fees because the last thing I'm going to do is hurt my credit over a stupid rental. But, the fact that this company couldn't give me a simple phone call or come us with any type of resolution was absolutely the worst example of management I have ever had to experience. I gave them numerous opportunities to call me and work towards a resolution that would be fair. They never did and their communication is very dry, cold and non-caring. Now reading though some of their other poor reviews and seeing their indifferent, unconcerned and unemphatic responses - I wish I would have been aware of this poorly managed company before I agreed to rent from them. RENTER BEWARE!!! more

Horrible company 7/28/2018

This company shouldn’t even be in property management. They are terrible. Forget about ever getting your deposit back. Everything is “a little dirty” even though it was 100 times cleaner than when you moved in. Your last month there....knowing you are going....they add charges to your account....Service Fees, etc. Not Recommended. They have been in law suits which they lost and get horrible reviews. more

Prepare for the worst 6/28/2018

My apologies to all those who accurately described their ordeal in their reviews. Now I can correlate to each one of the one star reviews. My apologies to not heeding to those voices/reviews while choosing DJW to manage my property. Calling DJW a worst company is kind of understatement. I wish I can give -10000 stars. If you have absolutely no stress in life and if you are living life of your dream and you want to experience something awful then DJW is for you. They will make sure to put your life in misery with their actions and replies. Last one year has been the worst year for us. Luckily our tenants were much better than the DJW and they managed to keep the home in decent shape. To give a glimpse of our ordeal: 1. Most likely they will never respond to your email. 2. If they respond, they won’t answer your question/request. 3. Customer service and courtesy is nonexistent. 4. Even though you sign a written document, you are pretty much at the mercy of their thoughts and they can change their rules overnight. Ohh don’t forget to read the entire website for gottchas. more

Horrible Company - very deceptive. Amanda the office Manager is rude. They do not appreciate their loyal tenants and their contracts are deceptive. Read all the Google and Yelp Reviews! I have reported them to the Attorney Generals Office. more

WORST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY EVER. OWNER IS HORRIBLE! 8/2/2017

This is the ONE property management company I say, stay away from unless you want them to take your money they unlawfully deserve! This is one incredibly shady company. They have gone through and deleted TONS of negative reviews warning future people. The owner is a creep. They will be nice when signing a lease, and working with you.... then the moment you give them the appropriate amount of notice they screw you- hold on to your money and miss their deadlines based upon Idaho State Law. Absolute scum- stay away. Absolutely STAY AWAY. Any other property management company is far beyond better than this one. more

HORRIBLE COMPANY 6/26/2017

DO NOT do business with this company! They are unethical scammers. Their leases have some very unethical clauses that essentially allow them to charge you insane amounts (in the thousands) after moving out of a 1 BDR studio apartment, on top of keeping your security deposit and making you pay for almost a month of rent after moving out on a month to month lease. They talk down to you and dont hear you out as a tenant, they don't work with you at all, and they belittle you and treat you like garabage, even after being a tenant for almost 4 years of on-time rental payments. They try every little way they can to squeeze you out of money. STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Some of the biggest scum in Idaho work here. You've been warned! more

Worst company I've ever worked with. 10/21/2015

I trusted my home to be managed by DJW mainly because they were referred to me by my realtor, and they had lower, less complicated rates than other property management companies in town. Little did I know, they make up for their lower rate with bogus charges. Their contractors steal things from your home and charge you to replace it. They charge you a cleaning fee regardless of whether your home is spotless or not, and to top it off, they have the worst customer service out of any company, regardless of industry, that I've dealt with in my entire life. They treat your house like it's their own. This sounds all good and well, but they treat it like it's their own in an absolutely terrible way. They take liberties without consulting you and charge you for it later. I've voiced my concern about several issues of the life of my contract thus far, and they have zero interest in actually listening to them. They stop talking to listen for about half of what you say, only to interrupt you and invalidate everything you've said with a very generic answer. This is regarding Gwen (no longer there), and especially the owner. The owner of DJW's justification for being so terrible is that "we manage thousands of properties, so we obviously can't be that bad at it". You are, sir. You are terrible. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! While I am reviewing from the point of view of a home owner that trusted them to manage my house, I've known several people that rented from them and were treated like scum. The homes were disgusting upon moving in, and they were nothing but nasty to them throughout the lease. They work with an aura that renters are scum and it comes out very clearly. more
