DJW Property Management

This company is the most unethical company. I rented a house in Eagle for around $2K a month a couple of years ago. Deposit was roughly $2,500 and I believe first and last rent. My original contract was two years from June to June. I needed to change the contract to my name only - the paperwork they provided extended the lease in their tiny tiny disclaimers through October with the new signature. I gave notice, moved out in June, they had the house ready to rent for July 1. They refused to give me back my deposit, because they said I violated my lease agreement. I found out I am at a collection agency $6,000+ and they took the $2,500 deposit when I moved out even tho they had renters coming in. They charged me $1.1K for a door and other things. I called and they refused to talk to me. At first the lady seemed like she wanted to talk to me, but some lunatic in the back kept saying make her call the collection agency. I the Collection agency and asked them why they had a $6,000 charge on my credit and said I wanted a breakdown of the charges. The credit collection lady was super nice but was unable to send me the paperwork. The account had a $1,500 finance fee. Basically I rented a $2k house from them over a two year period that I left in very good shape. I asked the collection person to please have them verify everything and if there was something I hadn't paid for I would pay for it. My credit is awesome and I don't want something like this on it. She called me back and said DJW refused to do anything. I have never left a negative review in my life until now. Don't let them lease your properties and don't rent from them. They have a bunch of fake positive reviews. Read the negative reviews and you will realize, it's good people they are scamming, not people who don't pay their bills or trash houses. The only reason I'm giving one star is because there is not a lower rating available. This company has demonstrated itself to be unethical, dishonest and unprofessional in their business dealings with us. We rented a townhome for a year, and gave notice 3 months in advance that we were not renewing our lease. They would not let us out and were going to charge us and increase the rent by $100 until I threatened to leave them a bad review. Well, I'm sorry to say that I still have to leave them a bad review, because they only returned about 30% of our deposit - claiming that there were repairs and cleaning, etc. We left the place in pristine condition, with ZERO repairs needed. They will tell you they are going to have to pay a cleaning company to clean, yet they won't. They will take your money and keep it. The place was filthy when we moved in, and yet they'd claimed to have had it professionally cleaned. There is no way that was done. We also had to hunt down our deposit refund, only to tell them tell us they didn't have our forwarding address. Yet the very next day the check was in our mailbox. Please do yourself a favor and research this company before doing business with them. There are many other options in the Valley besides these unprofessional and dishonest people. One more thing: last year they offered me a $25 gift card if I would post a positive review for them. If you notice, all reviews are either one star or five and the positive reviews are all during the same time period. This makes me question the validity of any positive reviews for this company. more

DJW Property Management in Eagle Idaho is a Terrible company to work with as far as Renting Properties. They are very dishonest and extremely rude customer service. I called their office with several questions regarding my move-out statement and they kept giving me the run around telling me I had to send an e-mail, which I had already sent 6 e-mails with no response. Finally, they would just hang up on me when I asked for a manager. Do Not Do Business with this Company. If you are renting and this company is the Management Company, I suggest that you find a different home to rent. You will be treated like dirt and they will Never fix any problems on the house. However, when you move out - they will make up problems and charge you for them. I have sent in complaints regarding this company to the BBB and the Attorney General's Office. Companies like this should not be in business. more

Zero stars wasn't available.\r \r I trusted my home to be managed by DJW mainly because they were referred to me by my realtor, and they had lower, less complicated rates than other property management companies in town. Little did I know, they make up for their lower rate with bogus charges. Their contractors steal things from your home and charge you to replace it. They charge you a cleaning fee regardless of whether your home is spotless or not, and to top it off, they have the worst customer service out of any company, regardless of industry, that I've dealt with in my entire life.\r \r They treat your house like it's their own. This sounds all good and well, but they treat it like it's their own in an absolutely terrible way. They take liberties without consulting you and charge you for it later. \r \r I've voiced my concern about several issues of the life of my contract thus far, and they have zero interest in actually listening to them. They stop talking to listen for about half of what you say, only to interrupt you and invalidate everything you've said with a very generic answer. This is regarding specific people. DJW's justification for being so terrible is that ""we manage thousands of properties, so we obviously can't be that bad at it"". You are. You are terrible. \r \r STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!\r \r While I am reviewing from the point of view of a home owner that trusted them to manage my house, I've known several people that rented from them and were treated like scum. The homes were disgusting upon moving in, and they were nothing but nasty to them throughout the lease. They work with an aura that renters are scum and it comes out very clearly.\r \r Update 10/21/15: DJW threatened to sue me if I don't take down my reviews. dwj management company if the worst company we had to rent from. Sense we moved to this house we haven't had one peaceful day in our house leaving in this house it's being nightmare of ours, they are constantly harassing us and discriminated us, also very rude, we had not even one good phone conversation, every time they hang the phone on us. They don't want to do maintenance of the house, they want us to pay out of pocket. We just received a copy of our rental contract, the management company had not provide us with the copy until last week. We strongly suggest to look it to this management company and their costumer service that they provide. more

Horrible, Horrible customer service and professionalism. Nice at first to get you in and then horrible to deal with. Horrible to communicate with. Very much knows how to harase you kind of company that threats and threats you for things not needing to be threatened on. Says they will do something like help with home problems and doesnt. less than 1 star. Needed a short term rental that took dogs and cats, until we bought a house. The house we are stuck in is at the most expensive end of the scale. It must have been owned/rented by very filthy folks. No evidence than cleaning had ever been done to oven, dishwasher, or any bathroom fixtures. Filthy windows, light switches, missing screens, misc things do not work at all. Rep. Gwen said it looks fine to her. We called her out when we took possession and she declined to come out. I have photos available as proof.. 1000k pet deposit for carpet torn and stained from prior animals. As I speak we are in the house with out cable because the owner won't sign off on it and I'm out money and time cleaning before we can even attempt to shower or cook. Totally unresponsive, uncaring and inflexible. more

Poor customer service, I would definitely avoid using this company. They only do business that benefit themselves. If you want added stress and headaches to your life, use this company. more

We were trying to rent our home ourselves and was having a very hard time. We took a recomendation from a friend and called DJW Property Management. We are so glad we did!\r They take care of every detail and we have no hassles! They are efficient and very professional! We highly recommend them to others having a hard time renting their own homes too! more
