Called customer service. Said they have no email to write in the questions/complaints you want to address.
Salesman & the service techs tell very different stories.
Not sure our system is really clean…not sure the one photo they showed us was even our system…just not 100% confident in the service we got from this COIT.
We first used COIT in San Francisco, and then in Denver…both were excellent.
This one has us saying…”What?? Really??”
Which is true?
Salesman: Charge of $100 because duct work runs were over 10’… said Tech’s have to go into the crawl space to cut open, clean from there and reseal.
Tech: No..The charge of $100 is because of OSHA law that they have to charge to go in crawl space and inspect for asbestos. They did not open anything under the house. Said they always do the suction from inside, even though duct runs are over 10’.
(Please send us a copy of that OSHA law)
Salesman: Service includes cleaning the fan/blower area
Tech: No…they do not clean those areas – ducts only
(NOTE: other companies were a lot cheaper, but said they didn’t clean these areas. We chose COIT and paid more because your salesman said they would be cleaned.)
Salesman: Best equipment in the industry
Tech: I pointed out a large hole in the suction tube and asked if that wasn’t just blowing stuff out into the house. Tech said, No…the machine is so powerful it just goes right past that hole.
REALLY??
Tech: Said to shut down system & close off returns/ducts for 7 days…so as not to contaminate them now that they had been cleaned.
Salesman: No mention of shutting down system for a week. Is that even a true statement? People have to shut down their systems after you clean them?
IF we had been told that was required, we would have waited until fall.
Tech: billing $490
Salesman: Said we would get a 5% discount for taking their ‘next available’ appointment.
Even though this was not convenient for us, we did this.
No 5% discount…please rebate that 5% discount
Salesman: They’ll give you photos of your system before & after cleaning.
Tech: Only give you photos if you ask for them…had the other tech sent one photo by text.
Tech showed me the dirt in the machine…I told him it was nowhere near what I thought they would pull out of there (based on what I had vacuumed from the surface areas I could reach)…again asking about that hole in his suction tube…and wondering how much was just blown into the air in the rest of the house.
We have another HVAC system that we were going to have done by COIT at a later time, and several area rugs laid out for them to pick up for cleaning…but will hold off until we see how management handles these issues.
