Jason made me fell confident in my decision to work with Capital Heating for replacement of my water heater, although, I do feel I made a mistake by taking his suggestion on getting a boiler Tune-up. Clayton did a good job but there was nothing to be done to make the $189, plus tax, worth the money. I wished I would have not had it done. Scott put in a lot of time and effort installing the water heater and assuring that my the heater and my boiler were running good together. He did point out a few things to me that need to be taken care of in my furnace so it can run more efficiently and he put the items on a list to be handed in to your office. I am glad to have found Capital Heating on the BBB bureau web site because all three men who I dealt with were obviously experienced with my Combo Gas Boiler and Indirect Water Heater. I had a service issue from the original installation of my system by Capitol Heating. This system was installed in 2011 and in 2015 I explained the problem and they sent their tech to repair the problem, without charge. Initially, I was concerned with contacting Capitol and expected a large bill for the correction. I called others and they could fix it for a cost and I told them of the problem and they all stated that i should contact the installer. When I called them I was pleasantly surprised, as they took care of the problem, without a fee!!! Call Capitol for your heating and cooling needs! more

I will post another review when they come back to my home a second time to correct the issues I brought to their attention. I chose Capital on recommendations from friends who used their service for duct cleaning. I called to make an appointment and thought the price was fair. The person who answered the phone was very knowledgeable about the process they used and referenced all their certifications. For most these certifications really would not mean much but being in the construction industry for 28 years was something I was looking for. The technician arrived on time offered his identification and his truck was clean and well kept. I not was to able to stay home during the cleaning and the technician called me as planned when complete. He was very courteous and payment via credit card on their tablet was seamless. I was not offered a hard copy receipt and I did not receive one via email as promised. I did not have time to check the technicians work before he left but talked to him for about 8 minutes or so. During our conversation he stated he usually is not the one to do this service and he was filling in. The regular duct cleaning technician was not available so they sent him. This comment and the way it was delivered did not give me much confidence that the work was going to be satisfactory. When I arrived back home later that evening I was not surprised to find a substandard job. I have used duct cleaning services in business for 15 years so I know what the end result should look like. I have personally inspected over one hundred cleanings because of the industry I was in. So I think my review is very credible with that much experience. The technician showed me before and after photos but only from my horizontal return ducts. My ducts were not cleaned since my house was built "1989" and it was obvious. I literally had to change my filter every other week it was that bad. The before and after photos he showed me were extreme and in my horizontal return ducts he did a good job. I did not get the same results in my horizontal supply ducts. I used my iphone to stick down in my ducts for photos and they looked like they were never touched. In my photos there was debris as far back as I could see. It was obvious they were either never cleaned or not cleaned very well. I did only check two but the two I checked were both the same. The reason I did go around and check is because several of my return air covers had the same dust and debris still on them and because of the conversation with the technician. . Now it may not be Capitals practice to vacuum supply & return covers and ducts you can see but perception is reality. If it looks dirty it probably is which prompted ever further inspection. My second floor return air ducts looked like they were never touched. I do not know their process for reaching the second floor but it was obvious their whip never reached the top. When I went downstairs to inspect my ducts (they have to drill holes and cut into your duct work to do the cleaning) I was less than pleased. Typically they drill smooth holes for access and use caps to close the hole in my case they did neither. It looked like he drilled a small hole then used a tin snips to enlarge the hole. The technician left jagged edges on all holes if you would run your hand over them you would get cut for sure. After that he put the silver tape used for HVAC over the holes. The tape was well over sized and looked sloppy on the ducts. Even if you did not have the knowledge I had you would know this is not right. My call to inform Capital of my findings: When I called the woman I talked to was very apologetic (sorry I did not get your name) and assured me those results were not typical. She made NO excuses for the substandard resutls I received and assured me everything would be taken care of. She told me she had to talk to the service manager and I would receive a call back the following day. I did receive that call back and again she was very apologetic and set up an appointment for them to come back. She told me everything will be taken care of to my satisfaction. My appointment is next week Friday November 27th in the AM. Being in this type of business for many years I understand her position completely. What I liked is she offered no excuses for sub par work but rather results on how it was going to be resolved. She did everything she promised in the time frame she said it was going to be done. Again I do not know your name but your did a wonderful job taking care of a customer who was not pleased with the results of your work. Not enough can be said for honest no nonsense explanations and doing what you said you would do. I want to thank you for that because that is not an easy position to be in. I will follow up this review with another after they finish at my home on Friday, Hopefully the results will be better the second time. Everyone knows its easier and cheaper to do it right the first time. Mistakes happen I have been there and remember its not how you start but rather how you finish that brings them back.......... Alex was very knowledgable and did a good job.it was a snowy day, but Alex was careful not to track snow in the house. He arrived on time and called before to let me know he was on his way. I liked that the company emailed me a picture of the service man so I knew who to let into the house. more

I was really pleased with my overall experience with capital heating and cooling - they worked above and beyond what you would expect. My both installers were really friendly and professional and the system works like a charm. more

So far I am very satisfied with Capital's service. I only say "so far" because I will also be getting my home's ducts cleaned in mid-December. I trust they will do a good job with that as well. I originally contacted three vendors... two from the Racine area and Capital. One of the Racine vendors (the president of the company) replied to my online query stating he would have his office get in touch with me. I never heard from them again. The other Racine vendor and Capital got back to me as a result of my online query. In fact, Capital called me within 20 minutes of my submittal. In the end, I went with Capital simply due to the thoroughness of Chuck's presentation and follow-up. He seemed to know what he was talking about and filled us in on many details as well as made suggestions. When he left us after our initial meeting, we knew exactly what equipment he was quoting. This is in contrast to the other vendor, who did not even state what size furnace (BTU rating) they would be installing. Perhaps we would have learned that later on, but it struck me as a lack of details. We received several calls from Capital where they made sure we knew what the installation schedule would be. The morning of the installation, we received (as expected) a call from one of the installers indicating that they were twenty minutes away. Both installers were very pleasant and professional as they went about their business. The installation looks very neat. Even though it is a retrofit, it does not look like a "cob job". I am very pleased with the final product. The installers were able to finish everything within the day. The only thing that required attention the next day was additional electrical work. The electrician was very pleasant and professional as well. He arrived at mid-morning and was finished by approximately 1pm. The HVAC installers and the electrician cleaned up after themselves. There was no mess left behind. more

I loved the way the technician entered my home: He said, "Thank you for allowing me to serve you." Impressive start. Then proceeded to put protective covers on his shoes to enter my home. Everyone that I dealt with at this company has been very friendly and knowledgeable. They keep their appointment times and call about 1/2 hour ahead to let you know they will be there.They only fix what needs to be fixed and do not try to make you spend money on something that is not broken. more

I have used this company for service on my AC and furnace for the last year plus. I have experienced nothing but exceptional professionalism and attentiveness. Dina (sp?) on the telephone who schedules appointments and calls back to ensure I am totally satisfied with the work, as well as everyone else I spoke to on the phone, was very attentive and considerate. Brett, one of the young men who serviced my systems was also very competent, friendly and efficient. My last encounter just last week was for servicing and inspection of my furnace for the winter. Alex, the technician, although quite young, had lots of experience working with his father, an HVAC specialist. It was quite refreshing to encounter such a polite, courteous and conscientious young person which unfortunately is sometimes difficult in recent times. Alex took the time to teach me many things I either didn't know or had forgotten. I have already renewed my service contract and would recommend this company in a heartbeat! more

Absolutely the worst experience you could imagine. They sent a newer employee to install new ductwork and a/c unit by himself. The unit froze up the first night and it took capital heating EIGHT TRIPS to correct the problem. The new employee ruined baseboard in my dining room. I contacted one of the managers after the problem was finally resolved and I asked what they were going to do for me for the inconvenience. He literally screamed through the phone that capital heating had done enough for me and if I didn't pay the balance due immediately HE was going to send me to collection. I thought about it and now there was only one more thing that they could do for me. I had them take the brand new a/c unit back. There is actually much more to this but I would rather forget this experience. I personally would not buy a furnace filter from capital heating much less a new a/c unit. more

I did my research in a part that was needed the part was 300$ end up paying over 1100$ I know they have to make some profit but 4x the amount never again will I use them more

I recently purchased a duplex that was winterized for over a year. I was nervous about the heating system so I called a company to have them run a check on the system. Their bid came in over $2000 to get my boiler system operational. I called Capital Heating and Cooling and they checked the boilers and registers for both units and quoted me less than $500. I didn't have to pay for unnecessary repairs. more
