Installed a whole house humidifier as an Angie's List deal. Technician was great and did an outstanding job. Mentioned their service contracts but wasn't interested. Got a call a few hours later asking how the install went and then mentioned service contracts again. Agreed to have them come back to perform their yearly furnace maintenance for a discounted price and scheduled for a week later. Service technician came and found a weak blower capacitor. Part replacement was $360. I questioned the high cost as these are online for $5.55 (60x markup). Stated this is cost to carry parts on their trucks. Since I recently broke my ankle and couldn't replace the capacitor myself for a few months, I had to accept the cost. Checked online afterwards and based on comments made on various forums, I see parts price scamming is a way of life for many furnace repair businesses. $360 is at the high end of those reporting capacitor replacement. Most are about $120. It is a shame that businesses feel the need to mark up inexpensive parts to this extreme. It's a scam in my opinion and I cannot recommend any business that would do this to their customers. I feel they have good technicians who are very courteous and thorough in their jobs, but scamming customers by marking up their replacement parts to this type of extreme is an unacceptable practice that will loose me for an future business with them. more

Andrew did an amazing job with cleaning my air ducts. I was amazed on how clean they were after. I did like the fact that Andrew took before and after pictures of my vents. I will definitely recommend to others! Thank you so much!!! more

I switched from my furnace people that I had been with for 25 years because they didn't get back to me for months. Both Abbey and Jason K from Capital did not bad mouth them, even seemed surprised that they dropped the ball. That impressed me on the first phone call with Abbey and on Jason K's first visit. Jason also called when he was on his way and was exactly on time. He was very knowledgeable about what my needs would be for my house, even discouraged me from unnecessary gas hook-ups. He gave me several options and when I asked what his professional opinion was, he offered it and I went with his suggestion. He encouraged me to get more estimates, including the company I had been with, even telling me that Capital would probably be more expensive. Jason always told it like it was. No surprises, no hidden costs. Based on the service, the quality and the personalities of Abbey and Jason K, it was a no-brainer for me to go with Capital. When I had to change my installation date for a frivolous reason, they accommodated my request. The furnace hasn't been installed yet, but I am confident that I will receive the same considerate and professional care that has been given to me already by everyone who I have dealt with at Capital. Jason K also told me that after my installation, if there are any emergency problems after hours, the owner, Jason Fox, personally takes the emergency phone calls and personally contacts his technicians to go out and fix the problem. As Jason K jokingly put it, they are more motivated to go out in the middle of a cold winter night when the owner himself calls them. Based on the pleasant treatment I have received so far, it was an objective and gut feeling to go with Capital Heating. I will highly recommend them to others who are in need of any heating or cooling needs. more

The technician that came to my house was very professional and knowledgable. One of the best service calls I have experienced. No high pressure sales, just honest work and service. more

Furnace installation crew and duct cleaner were very friendly and professional,. There were a few minor issues. 1. A part for the new furnace was not loaded on the truck, so a second visit was required to install the missing part, but was done so quickly and professionally. 2. An outside downspout was moved to install air conditioner and the downspout was not put back after installation. 3. The air conditioner box and a shovel were on the lawn and as I was cutting the lawn, the technician made no attempt to move either out of my way despite seeing I was trying to maneuver the lawn mower around the objects. Both the box and shovel were removed when the crew left. These are not significant issues, but thought I would mention them especially since everything else about Capital is 5 Star Customer Service. more

Leslie was very quick to answer all of our questions, troubleshoot claim issues, and help to resolve in an economical and practical way. She presented all options available to us, was very clear about costs and what was included, and friendly the whole time! more
