Impressed by hotel 8/5/2011

hotel was very convenient to all the sites in EL Paso, however check in and out was very confusing. Front desk , stated that many of the hotels reservations were not coming through. Tried to double charge us! Breakfast buffet vouchers were hard to get, as we had to wait in check out line, every morning , to get vouchers. LONg lines! overall was impressed by hotel. more

The hotel bar is grand 8/3/2011

Great hotel located downtown El Paso. Walking distance to many local bars of every type ;). The parking garage below the building is very secure and well lit with security cameras. The hotel bar is grand with the amazing dome. more

Second time staying 7/27/2011

This is the second time I have stayed at this lovely old hotel. Staff was very helpful. Coffee shop has tasty food with attentive waiters. Room was adequate with comfortable beds. After having difficulty with the room temp. the desk quickly sent someone to explain the controls. Located within easy walk of several museums and music venues. Hotel celebrates 100 years in 2012 and would loved to have a booklet explaining some of its history. more

Got some great deals 7/21/2011

We had to change rooms 4 times due to noise issues: first nite was a convention, second nite street party,but the front desk people were great each time. Yes it is an old hotel but still nice as it was within a block of the start and finish of the marathon--also great to have the free airport shuttle. ALso next to the golden horseshoe shopping at the markets -got some great deals there as well more

They had a great breakfast buffet 7/18/2011

My Husband and 23 year old son stayed here for the Sun Bowl Game. They said the room was very large, comfortable, and clean. They had a great breakfast buffet at the restaurant. It was in a convenient location, and they walked everywhere they needed to go. Juan at the front desk was very helpful, and the entire staff was friendly. They would not hesitate to stay here again. more

Quality Hotel 7/14/2011

I recently stayed at the Camino Real in El Paso for the weekend. If you are into the nightlife the union plaza is amazing and the camino real is conveniently located just a few blocks away. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and always more than willing to help us out with rides to nice restaraunts. The hotel is very nice and is worth the money. more

Exceeded expectations and was even GRAND 7/12/2011

From the beginning with a call for a ride from the airport to check out, our stay here was excellent. Service was great, rooms were great and for an older hotel, it far exceeded expectations and was even GRAND. Shuttle was on time to airport, coming and going. Since there was a wedding there that night they put us up on an upper floor in case it was noisy which it wasn't. It you want more than the run of the mill hotels, this is the place. more

Classy at a decent price 7/1/2011

If you're looking for something pretty classy for a decent price, this place is it. Loads of crown molding. There were a few annoyances, but they were very minor. One interesting thing is that we stayed on the 13th floor. The view of downtown El Paso is amazing. There was an outlet that didn't work, but it was the only outlet that was accessible. A drippy faucet. No microwave or refrigerator in the queen suite. The biggest annoyance was housekeeping. They failed at keeping the condiments stocked for the coffee maker and once we had to call them back because they simply forgot to clean our room. All in all in was a good stay. Very beautiful. more

Weekend rates are amazingly low 6/24/2011

This is a beautiful old hotel although it appears to falling into a little disrepair. The staff is cordial and friendly if young and not particularly refined. Weekend rates are amazingly low, the Beef Tenderloin at the bar was the best $18 dollar steak I've had in years. Downtown El Paso is a ghost town on the weekends, and I mean that in a good way. I'm considering this my secret weekend getaway as it is only a little over three hours from where I live and my wife loves it. more

The service was great 6/21/2011

with all of the bad reviews, we were very concerned this would be a bad experience. The night we stayed, the hotel was packed, if not full. The service was great except for a young waitress who liked to talk about herself more than serve her guests. The food was ok. Nothing exceptional. overall, we were warm and no major issues..and that was success. more

Excellent customer service 6/17/2011

Made my reservations on Monday for a Deluxe kind bed with buffet, to arrive on Friday. Upon my arrival on Friday night (8pm) I was informed, although I had reservations for a deluxe king room, they did not have it ready and would give me a deluxe queen room instead. I was not happy with that and asked the hotel receptionist, what was the purpose of making reservations if you were not going to be accomaodated with the reservations you made. The young lady at the desk graciously upgraded our room to a suite at no charge. Our whole stay there was filled with nothing but helpful people. I would recommend this hotel, just for the excellent customer service. more

Good price/value ratio 6/14/2011

Good price/value ratio For convenience, we stayed here while attending a seminar. Our room was quite nice, although we spent little time in it. In-hotel restaurant selections were limited and on-street restaurant selections were minimal as many were not open on weekends. more
