Camino Real Hotel El Paso

The hotel is old but clean. I had to be moved from the original room I had because of a loud drippy faucett in the bathroom. The layout of the room is not as conducive to business as some of the newer hotels (electrical outlet not placed close to the desk, etc.) but overall it was a pleasant stay in an old historic hotel located downtown. Much construction in that area now though. more

If you enjoy being within walking distance to some fine restaurants (one infront of the Greyhound bus satation of all places...very run down art school looking, with a small but fabulous menu...the other Cafe Central was as good as it gets),a fine museum of art, and the colorful streets full of very modestly priced, but colorful Mexican American shops this place is for you. The hotel staff was welcoming from check in to check out time. The bed linen was sparklling white, the breakfast prices fair for hotel breakfasts(the oatmeal and fresh orange juice perfect), the Dome Bar a beauty.The furniture in our roon on a non-smoking floor was sort of a mixed bag, but comfortable. The bathroom needed another towel rack and looked a bit tired,but was very clean . We stayed in El Passo for three nights, and would definitly stay at the Camino Real again. If you want an ""original"" and not a cookie cutter boring hotel stay here! more

Our room was really nice and clean. There were plenty of pillows which were a dream because you never get enough of them in other places. The Bath Body and Beyond Soaps and lotions were greatly appreciated by my significant other. It would be nice to add a two person whirlpool tub in the future or one of those shower curtains that bowout, aside from that it was great. Oh and a stereo or satellite radio would be a even better. more

The room was great for the money. Other coworker stayed somewhere else and paid more, and ended up coming to stay at Camino Real because they were so impressed with the hotel. All the staff was truly wonderful, especially Jared from the bar staff, and Lupe from the Azulejos restaurant. Very friendly and courteous! more

Nice place to stay. Comfortable bed. Food is reasonable priced. Parking is not included in price of hotel so it will cost you $6.00 per day extra. more

I spent a weekend bumming around Texas. I made it as far as El Paso the first night. The Mexican influence is quite obvious. For nightlife you have Cincinnati St and Lee Trevino Blvd. Both are at opposite ends of the city. I'm sure you can find a hotel cheaper in the general area but the next time I stay in El Paso it'll be here. Old hotel done up very nicely. You feel as if you stepped back into the 1930's. Live Jazz singers in the dining area during the week. Room was recently renovated, but still has the old charm. Overall a cool place Pros: Kept up well Cons: The city itself isn't all that more

After checking into our first room at this hotel, we asked the front desk for a different room with more natural light. They couldn't have been nicer about this and moved us to a corner room on a higher floor with tons of light.\r \r I wouldn't recommend the food at the bar though. I thought it was overpriced and average. The drinks were good...just didn't get many good reviews from friends on any of their meals. more
