Great hotel 6/13/2011

I don't understand all the belly aching about this hotel. I was there in October 08 and was very impressed. For those of you who don't like it - ITS AN OLD HOTEL !! It has a little character and is not a brand new generic, bland, milk-toast, boring box room with puffy sheets. I had a corner room big enough to play raquetball in, with a great view, the staff was great, the bar was great, no problems at all. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Not SUPER for business traveler, (old desk was a little small) but the wifi was strong in all areas I was in. Great hotel - go there with confidence understanding it has character. more

Can't beat the value 6/10/2011

The hotel is great for El Paso, probably the best in town. The Dome Bar is spectacular, and the Dome Restaurant is quite good. I was disappointed with the fact that the gym has been under construction, and the pool could use an update. Other than that, the value for the $ can't be beat, and its a great place with great service and a friendly staff. I enjoy coming to this hotel whenever I am in El Paso. more

Lovely hotel 6/7/2011

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown - great to see anything at the Plaza Theater or the El Paso Museum of Art as they are right across the street. The ambiance of the bar is everything it's cracked up to be - but the drinks are overpriced, and if you hit them on a busy night, their pour leaves a little something to be desired. THe rooms were neat and tidy, and the view was spectacular. I would stay there again. THe hotel staff is very courteous and friendly. The room service food is ok - not great but ok. more

Nice Hotel 6/6/2011

I was surprise how nice the hotel actually was. This hotel was constructed in 1912...I think and you can tell that there was lots of attention to detail. They don't make hotel like this one anymore. I recommend it. Be adviced if you get a room on the upper floors, the is a dance club up there that will keep you up on certain days. I was on the 10th floor and could hear it but not as bad as it sounds. more

Everything was very smooth 6/1/2011

My Recent Stay I had some problems last time I stayed here, but I am happy to say this time everything was very smooth. The room was in good order and unlike the first time the temperature was perfect. Service at the wonderful dome bar was impeccable. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Also, the breakfast buffet was great. more

Wonderful old hotel 5/27/2011

wonderful old hotel We loved this hotel and its beautiful bar with the Tiffany dome and two really good restaurants - one casual and one 'fine dining'. The people were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Only 2 drawbacks for us: The first is that we were there without a car and the neighborhood shuts down at 5 or 6 pm and there are not a lot of restaurants within walking distance. However, the valets were extremely helpful and shuttled us back and forth to restaurants, the zoo, a movie, etc. for tips. The second is that the workout room is small with limited equipment and the rooftop pool is also small. But, that didn't seem to be a problem because neither place filled up when we were there. We would certainly stay at the Camino Real again. more

Great evening 5/25/2011

the hotel was elegant and it provided the perfect setting for our night out. more

Exceptional service 5/23/2011

Exceptional service I loved staying at the Camino Real in El Paso. This precious diamond in the heart of El paso had great service. On my next visit I'll return to the Camino Real. more

It was wonderful 5/19/2011

It's a classic looking hotel which also happens to be comfortable. I certainly stay there again. more

A taste of Old El Paso 5/13/2011

A taste of Old El Paso Great hotel for the money. Best part of the hotel is the Dome Bar. A gorgeous, historic ambiance. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. A great value. more

Would Recommend this Hotel to others 5/12/2011

I enjoyed the comfort of the room and the overall presentation. I was greeted at entrance by the gentleman who was monitoring the parking lot and asked if I wanted my bags taken to my room. The gentlemen was very polite and professional. There was a gala for March of Dimes in the hotel when we arrived and the gentlemen in the parking lot still extended excellent service to the hotel guest, which was very impressive. more

My room was clean and very nice 5/11/2011

Awesome Dome in the Bar My room was clean and very nice but wouldn't warm up but a call to the front desk got that fixed quickly too! And the tech was very friendly. Went to the bar for a night cap only to be surprised that they had a great band playing and ended up staying longer than I first thought. more

it was perfect 5/9/2011

everything it was gorgeous the hotel had an amazing view and it was perfect more

Very nice and comfortable 5/4/2011

Very nice and comfortable, I would stay here any day before staying at a cookie-cutter hotel of the same price! It was very comfortable and nice to be in a building with a little style and history. I was very happy with the location. It is in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of anything I needed. I had a south facing corner room on the 6th floor and had a great view of the city and of Juarez. more

Very old but amazingly charming 4/29/2011

The hotel is really old and the rooms are a bit out dated - old bed frames, old furniture - kind of what you'd expect to see in a bed and breakfast in the Texas Hill Country. But - the architecture more than makes up for the oldness. The hotel lobby, bar, restaurants, and staircase are simply beautiful - definitely a must see.... more

Great Hotel 4/27/2011

Beautiful downtown building restored with a modern touch on the inside. Friendly staff and impecably clean rooms. The best hotel I have been to in El Paso, and I have been to several. more

Nice Hotel 4/26/2011

The hotel overall was nice, but could use some upgrades as a lot of the furniture was old and outdate... The showerhead was broken, but other than that, it is a good value for the price. more

A gem in El Paso Downtown! 4/21/2011

Stayed in the El Camino for Thanksgiving weekend. Hotel must have been recently renovated. Very clean rooms. The lobby and bar is a one-of-a-kind old world charm gem. Hotel staff was super friendly, waived parking fee and went beyond the call of duty to accomodate us. Hotel is perfectly situated in downtown with convention center and shopping, restuarants in walking distance. Would for sure stay again. more

Staying here again on next business trip 4/19/2011

I booked this reservation the day of and was very pleasantly surprised based on other reviews. My large room was on the 9th floor with a great view. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff was exceptional. The restaurant downstairs in the lobby had fabulous food and the Tiffany dome bar had live music every night I was there which was a treat after working all day. I am coming back into town in July for business and I am booking here again! more

Great beds 4/18/2011

Stayed at the Caimino Real with my 7 year old over Thanksgiving and was greated nicely, they put a refrigerator in my room and our beds were FANTATICALLY comfortable. Lots of pillows and veru comfortable. Only thing I did not like is they did not have any TV stations for kids (i.e. cartoon network, etc). Other than that hotel was great. more
