Nice Hotel 4/15/2011

Overall is good, Room is clean and nice view, especially bar is amazing. Also, location in central down town, but I felt that there are a deserted town, there are no amusement quarters. more

What an El Paso hotel should be! 4/13/2011

I am a regular visitor to El Paso. I have stayed in all of the downtown hotels. This one is by far the best. It is exactly what a Southwest hotel should be. Great decor, clean comfortable rooms, free underground parking and friendly, helpful staff. I would rate this hotel at four stars. I will stay here on all future visits to the area. more

A real gem! 4/11/2011

This hotel surpassed our expectations by far. The lobby was gorgeous, the rooms very large and elegant, and offered a fabulous full breakfast. This is one of the best bargains in hotels I've had in a long time. more

Camino Real- Nice experience 4/7/2011

I travel often for both business and leisure so I stay at a lot of hotels. The Camino Real is one of my favorites. I have used the chain in Guadalajara and Juarez as well. It is an old Hotel with a magnificant bar and restaurant. The rooms were very spacious. The pool was nice and quiet. The charm of the Hotel was that of a ""yesteryear"" feel to it with all the modern conveniences of today. It was great to be close to interstate acces, downtown shopping and covered parking. My choice when I travel to the El Paso/Juarez area. more

Great Value 4/6/2011

Convenient, Elegant, Will stay there again more

Most beautiful stained glass bars ever! 4/4/2011

If you enjoy classic older hotels then this is a great place to stay. One of the most beautiful domed stained glass bars I have ever seen. more

Good value for money 3/31/2011

This is a beautiful grand historic hotel. Our room was very large and confortable. The variety of choices at the breakfast buffet was appreciated and we enjoyed the mexican dishes such as chile colorado, the made to order omelets, fresh fruits and Starbucks coffee. The tiffany dome in the classy bar is worth a visit itself and reminded us some of the grand rooms found in Venice. Minor glitches such as elevator problems and outdated tile in the bathrooms are easy to overlook. Don't stay here for the neighborhood, but parking was easy and downtown is centrally located. more

Hotel was very reasonable for it's beauty 3/30/2011

Just walking into the hotel gives you an awesome feeling. Our room was clean an spacious. The employees were anxious to help with anything we needed. The best part of the hotel is the lobby bar with its magnificent domed ceiling. Our experience in the Dome Restaurant was one of rare complete ultimate service--worth the high price. It was close enough to the Mexican border that we took the trolly into Juarez and walked back. The hotel was very reasonable for its beauty, location and service. more

Well located and a great value for our money 3/28/2011

We had a fantastic stay at The Camino Real Hotel Arriving early to this hotel, they accomodated us with an early check in which was great as we had travelled a overnight to get there. We found the rooms to be excellent, very clean and big. Everything you could want except a fridge. It is well located and we found it great value for money and dined in their restaurants - spot on. more

Camino Real makes El Paso worth it 3/25/2011

We had never been to El Paso so we checked the web. We were amazed by the Camino Real hotel webpage, but who believes these pictures? However, the actual hotel surpassed our expectations. It is an historic hotel in a plaza with other cultural buildings (a performing arts center and a museum). The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated - wood, marble and a huge stained glass dome encompassing the bar. This elegant atmosphere made our margharitas taste so much better. Near the bar was a 4 diamond restaurant that was a bit too pricey for our present vacation which was to visit Big Bend and other national parks. Our rooms were spacious and decorated with furnishings unlikely to be found in an American hotel chain. Each floor was nicely decorated (we checked!). The lobby showcased artwork with huge paintings of horses, native Americans etc. done by local artists. The hotel staff was helpful and suggested restaurants even though there were two in the hotel. This stay set a nice tone for the trip. We were there for only two days and I wouldn't look any further were we to find a reason to be in the El Paso area again. more

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown 3/21/2011

Great location downtown with nice views. Do not miss having a drive at the famous Dome Bar with the Tiffany Ceiling dome. The parking lot is a little precarious, be super careful. We were told by other colleagues about the wonderful (& free) continental breakfast downstairs, the staff did not tell us, but we checked and it was indeed free and delious. more

Hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed 3/18/2011

USBC Bowlers stay here, you won't be sorry Just got back from National's. Although our bowling wasn't good the visit to ElPaso was fabulous. The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and take care of our needs. The shuttle drivers are eager to please and the hotel restaurant food is so good and priced right there is no need to go else where. The servers go out of their way to meet your requests. The people on the streets were very polite and we even took a ride on the public bus where the daily people were eager to engage in conversation and welcome us to El Paso. Just a walk across the street to bowl and walking to fast foods if that's your choice. It truly was a wonderful experience. I want to go back !! more

Exceptional Hotel 3/16/2011

This is a wonderful old hotel. The architectual elements make it stunning visually. I stayed over a long weekend on 8th floor and the view was great. The service received was well above average from a friendly and helpful staff. Camino Real is easy to get to and is in a good location to get to anywhere in the city relatively easily and parking is great. (You receive a parking credit if you fill out the hotel feedback form.) The hotel is old so do not expect state of the art amenties, but the rooms are roomy, clean, and comfy. more

I also loved this hotel 3/11/2011

Set right in the heart of downtown El Paso, the Camino Real is an excellent hotel in every way. The rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly - they were particularly helpful in helping us get to Juarez airport. All the facilities are good too. The bar is spectacular with its Tiffany dome and was always busy and lively - although I did not care for the loud 80s rock music the band played but that's maybe what Texmex people like. We ate once in the Dome restaurant which. although pricey, was high quality dining and recommended. Maybe after several days in Mexican hotels, this comfortable, historic hotel seemed especially good but I will definitely stay again if I had a chance. more

Great Hotel to stay at 3/8/2011

We loved the common areas and wished we had been able to stay a couple days longer. We were surprised to see that James Taylor was in concert that night in the Plaza Theater across the street. What a great treat. the theater was awesome and James Taylor was the best. If you have a chance to stay here you should more

Very nice experience 3/4/2011

Camino Real Hotel-EL Paso I stayed on the 14th floor and had a great view of Mexico and the city of El Paso. Very nice experience more

Great El Paso hotel! 3/3/2011

As usual, the Camino Real was superb. The rooms are almost soundproof, are comfortable and very clean. Food from room service or either of the two onsite locations was good. New recipes have been added and more are in the works. We love this place! (My husband always ""forgets"" how great the hotel is.) more

Sunday Evening Stay 3/1/2011

We have stayed at the Camino Real Hotel in El Paso a number of times. We love the beautiful ""Blue Dome"" bar and the yummy food and superb service of the restaurants. Our rooms have always been clean, comfortable with elegant white curtains, lovely furniture, & great window views. This is the first time that the ""fancy"" restaurant and the bar were closed which was really disappointing. more
