I tried to avoid an accident and ended up taking a hit on my Z4. BMW only made this color one year, so it's a rare color: Urban Green. I had no experience with paint/body shops in the Austin area, so when my insurance company gave me recommendations, I threw a lawn dart and it happen to land on Berli's. I looked them up afterward and got a good feeling by what I saw on their website and arriving at the shop was no different. Some shops look good on the web, but it's a nightmare when you show up (like they cleaned up for the photos). Not Berli's. Outstanding facility.
In talking about the work to be done, I asked them if it was going to take longer to get the color matched since it's a rare color--they said no problem at all, it'll be quick. THIS IS IMPORTANT: The BMW body shop I took it to when I lived in VA, TOOK OVER A MONTH JUST TO MATCH THE COLOR! Something about having to order the special paint from Germany and it taking them almost 30 test panels to match it. The guys at Berli's... NO SWEAT! The BMW place also tried to pass off a leaky headlight assembly as ""normal"", ""it's just condensation, happens to all of them"" and suggested that I just turn on the lights and the heat from that will burn it off... So I did. And it burned out the ballast for the HID's. So there goes another week. Never mind that I have NEVER had condensation in my headlights (even in the DC area winters or hot TX summers)--EVER.
Berli's... replaced everything that was needed to restore it to normal. Paint looked great. They gave it all a good buffing and even fixed a few dimples here and there. NO ISSUES! Done right, all-told, less than a month for sure--more like two weeks.
Sure, they take a bit longer and may be a bit pricier, but they are very professional, very thorough, and do outstanding work. I trust my roadster to no one else!
Bottom line: You get what you pay for. Insurance company listed them, I chose them, they delivered as promised (and better than expected).
Pros: Excellent work, almost flawless, very clean shop
Cons: Pricey, but worth it
