To Amy7577 at Citysearch Ignorance is a very poor foundation upon which to build an opinion or make an argument and you are obviously ignorant of the roll that the management company played in the 911 flag drama. As a former board member of one of the associations that Benchmark manages, I can assure you, without any doubt, that, contrary to your thoughtless statement, the management company certainly DOES NOT have the ??the ability to amend or change the rules of the HOA.? The management company acts only as an agent of the association and must take its instructions from the association?s board of directors. Also, you should know that president of the management company was the person who worked hardest to influence the board of directors to reverse their original decision. The police officer is now permitted to fly his flag and the management company should be credited with having resolved the conflict. You should be as quick to retract your harmful statement as you were to make it. An apology from you is now in order. Only time will tell if you are gracious enough to write one. more

After hearing about the harassing letter that a 911 police officer recevied from your company about the flag that honors those who died in the MOST tragic event in US history was very disturbing to me. Comments that were made by a representative from your company saying that until the rules are changed he can only fly one authentic American Flag. However the flag that was shown is authentic in its own right. You as the company have the ability to amend or change the rules of the HOA. As a citizen of the USA I am embarssed by your company and those who have made the complaints. more

Between both associations I have had the pleasure of dealing with Benchmark Property Management for over twenty years. During those years I have found them to be knowledgeable in condominium law; preparation of annual budgets; bookkeeping; attending meetings; responding to questions that the board or unit owners have had; conducting annual meetings and board elections. Are they 100% perfect - no. But are they knowledgeable, willing and able to assist the Board in every possible way - yes. Our condo has gone through 3 management companies in less than 5 years. The results have been a disaster. Each of the 3 companies did worse than the one before! Our board began to think that maybe WE just didn?t know how to pick the right company. Then one of our owners told us that she owns another condo in Boca and that they are very happy with their management company Benchmark. She suggested that we should contact Benchmark and talk to them. Our board was pretty skeptical (can you blame us) about ANY management company. Anyway, we interviewed Benchmark and did a very extensive check into their background and spoke to almost every one on their reference list and finally decided to hire them. That was at the beginning of 2009. This time the results were spectacular! Benchmark has lived up to every expectation that we had and every commitment that they made. They took us on even though we had enormous problems because of past mismanagement and in less than 2 years they have bailed us out of most of the worst of it. After working with their team for a year and a half I am convinced that their staff and executives know more, do more, and do it better than any management company that I have ever dealt with. Our finances are in better shape than they have been for many years and our property looks better than ever. As a management company they have provided my association guidance, support, knowledge of condominium law, policies and Florida statutes , and recommendations regarding budget to superior levels. As the President of The Pines of Boca Barwood Phase 1, I felt compelled to write a review about our Management Company, Benchmark, They have literally saved our community. Their knowledge, wisdom and expertise cannot be measured. With all their knowledge they have saved us thousands of dollars. Also, we had a few plumbing problems recently and our manager was here within 20 minutes on a Saturday, including another call at 4am. When we need any kind of work done Benchmark only recommends the best people to do the job. Anytime, I call their office I always get prompt and courteous service. As President , I cannot tell you how much they have helped me to do my job and made me feel very secure in doing so. I went to the benchmark company office because my mother said she try to rent her house and benchmark made a hard time for her. When I got to benchmark to help my mother they proved me that they did everything right but that my mother did not finish the papers. They showed me all the notes they made and all the times they try to call my mother and get papers. Even the owner of the company came out and spend more than 1 hour with me to show why there is a problem. After maybe 2 hours I finally got good result and told my mother that problem was not benchmark fault. I was very happy with what benchmark people did for me and I know now that they had a hard time with my mother but not there fault. Before I left the owner of the company ask me if I was satisfied and I told him that they all did a great job and I understand the problem was my mother fault. The owner ask me to write this message to tell about what I find out. The benchmark really is a very very good company and no body will have a problem if they do what they are supposed to do.
