I took my sister who was in town visiting from Alaska to two different days of beauty services. We enjoyed a pedi and manicure one day and then a wonderful facial the next week. She said it was the most wonderful time she had had in years. We both had an excellent experience being pampered and look forward to visiting again... more

as always , I enjoyed my service at Aveda. My only complaint is my student didnt do the "figure 8's " around my eye area . In the past, this was always part of the treatment I received. I prefer to get my facials done at the school because they are better than the ones I get at high end salons. more

I was so very pleased ,once again, with the services at aveda institute. The very complicated hair coloring procedures were handled very well by the student and her instructor. The results were great. more

Great hair cut experience. Danielle was fabulous--very conscientious of the work she was doing, but still relaxed and friendly. The scalp massage she performed was long and soothing--probably the best I've received at the institute. more

I have visited the institute for the 2nd time in 2-3 weeks on Veterans and asked for a trim to get rid of my split ends. Each time the girl cut way less than 2 inches & I still have split ends. more

She started me off with a relaxing 15minute hair wash. Which I thought was great! the haircut was fairly quick, however the blowdry, after dousing my hair with product took way over an hour! My hair is chin length!! The haircut was absolutely perfect, I just started losing patience sitting there for well over 2 hours for a trim. more

The student performed a great haircut and she is very pleasant. The salon floor had a lot of hair laying around,which I think should be picked up immediately. more

This was my third time getting my haircut at the Aveda Institute, but this one was the best thanks to Chomon! more

I discussed with the stylist and her teacher what I liked about a picture I provided for the haircut. The teacher heard what the student was going to do and assured me that what she said would look like the picture. The back is two inches shorter than the picture. The student cutter clipped over my ear and then kept insisting that I asked for it but have not heard of the term before today. Then refused to finish cutting my hair. I finally tried to difuse the situation my saying there was a miscommunication. Two teachers attempted to correct the hair cut and it still is uneven and assymetrical and even shorter. I have gone home and tried to work with the cut and I am still not happy. I have had three bad experiences over the past 6-9 months but not to this extent. I am sad to say that this will most likely be my last time here after over 3 years of going there. The staff has had a major turnover and the instructor knew less about the products than I did and kept asking the student about what product to try to help my hair look the way I wanted (which did not work.) My wise husband told me last time to find a different place to get my haircut and sadly I will not take his advice. more

I recently received a haircut from an AVEDA student, and though the haircut was good, the student didn't listen to what I said. I told her that I wanted my layers re-cut because I wear my hair wavy and don't like to style, so I wanted my cut to bring out my natural wave. She then made me stand for half of the haircut because she is "too tall" to cut hair while customers are sitting. It was not what I was expecting, nor was it comfortable standing under a vent with wet hair. She barely cut any of my hair off, and didn't put in any new layers, although it was a good haircut it wasn't what I was expecting. Then she was about to put straightening products in my hair, and said "because you wear your hair straight." At this point I told her "NO, I wear my hair curly" and she changed the products, but it appears that she gave me a cut for someone with straight hair. Again, the haircut is fine, but I could not believe how LITTLE she listened to me as her customer. more

I recently went to the Aveda Institute in Metairie for the first time. I was a little skeptical about having a student trim and dye my hair. But much to my delight Heather did an awesome job! more

The salon itself was impressive! Very nice staff, and loved how the girl cut and colored my hair! I had a wonderful experience and I am going back this weekend for a 2nd time! Can't beat the prices too!!! more

I have been coming to Aveda since 2005. I personally enjoy meeting and seeing the different students progress as they become professional hairstylist. In the years coming to Aveda, I have never had any problems. That includes from the moment you walk in until you leave. I also have two daughters that also come to Aveda. I would recommend to anyone to try Aveda. more

Paige did an incredible job. Dylan is a great supervisor/coach! I've been going to Aveda going on 5 years and must admit, I was beginning to be less and less impressed with the personnel, as well as the work. However, today's visit won me back! I will return as a regular again and will be sure to ask for Paige! more
