Aveda Institute New Orleans

Everything was great with my haircut, except, I wish the Institute would require that their hair cutting students keep their nails short. My student had way too long nails and scratched me while she was washing and styling my hair. She did stop once I mentioned it but it would seem that this would be obvious. more

It felt like I was at a real salon! I had my feet, legs, bikini, and underarms waxed. The girls were very professional and they did a great job! I will definately be back and I recommend their waxing services to everyone! more

I enjoyed having a student learn on my hair. It's virtually impossible for them to mess up because there is a teacher who checks in periodically with them as well as takes care of any part of the cut the student isn't able to dot. The teacher thinned out my hair with her straight razor after the student did the basic cut. It took a lot longer than a regular salon, but for the price and the outcome, it was worth it! I'll go back! more

I was very satisfied with the girl who colored my hair. Color with red in it is hard to get right and my operator did a great job this visit and also I had the same girl last time at Aveeda. more

One of the few times I've been disappointed with my experience. I've been dying my hair red for years, but decided a few months ago that I might like highlights again. I asked the instructor back in January if she thought this might work on my color-treated hair, and after thinking about it, she said it shouldn't be a problem. I finally got the courage to go for it the other week, but it came out pretty poorly. The top six inches of my hair (the new growth) bleached out extremely bright, but the highlights barely show in the color treated areas. Using a toner at the end doesn't seemed to have helped it. It's a very vivid two-tone look that I'm not comfortable with. Kind of wish the instructor would have been upfront about likely needing to strip the color treated areas in order for the highlights to look consistent. The highlights were a splurge for me, and I'll be going back as soon as possible to get my usual single-process in the hopes of covering it up. That said, my stylist was quick and professional, and did her best to make the highlights work. Plus she gave me the best blow-out I've received there (straight, but still full with body). more

The student manicurist and supervisor were wonderful, knowledgable, and attentive. They provided a great pedicure and answered all of my questions. Still, I am hesitant to return too soon since there was a great deal of pressure to purchase products not in my budget. Now, I am having buyers' remorse. I actually purchased only two items. This totalled 28 dollars.More than I would pay for products in three months. What's more, I rarely have time to use them. more

Excellent care. Student explained product selections and offered to answer any and all questions. The cut was done with concentration and double checked by the teacher. This haircut was a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. more

Aveda Institute provides a teaching situation, but it is very professional and congenial. I intend to continue going there for color. more

I have gone to this salon and have gotten several gift cards from here from friends, because I have always had a wonderful experience for the last 7 years. This was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Very disappointed in the lack of empathy or the value of "the customer is always right". more

I absolutely love my hair! What I did not enjoy was the 3 hours it took to do just a haircut. I felt like the girl,who was very sweet, was not ready if she had to be checked by instructor every time she took more hair out the clips. Have them a little more experienced please. A haircut should never take more than an hour, even with students. more

It was the best pedicure that I've ever had! I totally enjoyed the experience. The student as well as the instructor were so nice and very efficient and did a great job! I'll be back asap! more

Mark did a great job layering my hair to bring out my natural curls. Definitely recommend him for anyone who wants a short curly look. more

The Pedicure was wonderful and such a great price - only $14. It was better than some that I have paid $40. I definately recommend the Aveda Institute. more
