American Vision Windows is An Ethical, Capable, & Affordable Contractor 11/9/2009

From the first phone call to the final service, this company performs. The Consultant warned that with home improvements, there are always obstacles, and if we let him know about any problems, He would assure it was taken care of. He Did. One of the windows was manufactured wrong and American Vision Windows was able to rush order a replacement and we were able to have the job finished a week later. The crews were outstanding. We have very nice floors, and they protected them, cleaned up after themselves, and were not in a huge hurry to get out of there at the end of the day. This was a two day job and they did their best not to put us out. One of the windows had a crack in it a few months later. They ordered the new glass and had it installed within two weeks with no charge at all. It was the least I could do to give them a great review. As I read some of these other reviews, I can tell many of these people just don?t get it. No Company is perfect, but this company will do more

Outstanding Experienceby Marnie L.Today a crew, including Barry and Isidoro, installed 13 Anlin windows and 2 sliders. They came on time, worked diligently, cleaned up, and left after 7 hours of work. The workers were courteous and helpful, and answered all our questions. We are thrilled with the windows and the service. From the salesperson to the office workers to the installers, we had an outstanding experience. We would gladly recommend American Vision Windows. more

American Vision Windows Incorporated is TERRIBLE 9/2/2009

I am updating this review. I was contacted my the field supervisor who returned my call immediately. He scheduled an appt and arrived on time. He was very a[apologetic and assured me of their commitment to customer service. He was able to resolve my issue quickly and courteously. While the past had me concerned about the company, I believe now I would consider them again for window replacement based upon their handling of my complaint.We ordered our windows in Dec 08, they advised 6-8 weeks and they came in 4/09. No calls unless we generated them. Promises to repair walls for new installation with stucco and they did not, had to call them back out. Spoke to Monica in the office who was nice but never followed thru. Had a recent problem, one window in "bowing " out and cannot close, they came out and said the lock was sticking, push harder. After replacing/new construction of 9 windows and a set of French doors, this is their "great" customer service. I would NEVER recommend them. From more

Pressure Salesman 7/11/2009

I have American Vision Windows come out to my house and give me a estimate on my windows. The quote I received was much higher then any other quote that I had received. The hard selling tactics I did not appreciate. I had a better experience from other window companies like Galkos Construction (714) 373-8545\r and Door and Window Plus (626) 399-1569 that gave me much cheaper quotes. I don't have alot of money and am not going to buy something just because the price is only good that day. Pros: on time, nice presentation Cons: hard sell, today special price, expensive more

Anlin Sliding Glass Doors 2/28/2009

American Vision Windows replaced my two broken sliding glass doors with Anlin sliders. They did a great job, were clean, neat, on time and fast. They had both doors installed in a few hours. I had a recent service issue and Sean Young sent me the replacement parts right away. It was a screen latch so I was able to fix it in a few minutes. I would highly recommend the company and the Anlin product. more

Great experience! 2/15/2009

We had 11 windows installed by American Vision Windows earlier this year and we couldn't be happier. Everything promised was delivered...on time. The windows are really nice. The staff were all very professional. And the installers were incredible. These guys laid down plastic everywhere they were going to step (or possibly step), covered all our furniture and even wore little booties whenever they were inside our house. I figured I would have some cleaning up to do when they were done...but I didn't. They left our house cleaner than when they came. Thinking about firing our cleaning lady and instead have these guys come out every week.We would definitely recommend this company!Tinzar H. more

Great Service!!! 2/11/2009

We had all 12 windows & one large sliding glass door replaced. They were everything you could ever ask for, prompt, courteous, & well mannered. The quality of work was great. One screen was omitted by the manufacturer, they returned within 5 days with the missing screen & installed it. This company is everything they claim in their advertisements. From the no-pressure sales to the final installation. I would have to say that our overall experience was nothing short of great. If this list is going to work, we have to post the great as well as the bad. This company was great & had just what we needed. more

Pain Free 2/11/2009

The company replaced 7 windows in my home. Very pain free experience. Company was on time, communicative, and did a fast and excellent job tearing out the old wood double hung windows and replacing them with new single hung vinyl windows. more

We had a wonderful experience with American vision. We replaced 17 windows and 2 patio doors in our thousand oaks home. Bill Van Vliet was our installer he and his crew were clean and professional. I would recommend them them. more

Worst experience ever 3/15/2008

My experience with American Vision Windows is the worst one I've ever had in all of my many many home improvements. I laugh now every time I hear their advertisements. It took months and months and several visits for the windows to be completed correctly. Their customer service is horrible. more

American Vision sets a new standard for the American way. 1/24/2008

THANK YOU AMERICAN VISION I can not say enough good things about them. I'd let this company baby sit my CHILDREN!! They truely are amazing they were very concerned about my needs as a customer and the help didn't stop at the sale. The Customer Care Center checked up on me and made sure everything was going smoothly throughout the entire process from my first FREE in home estimate to after the installation of my windows. I discovered a leak in one of my windows and they sent someone out right away to come fix it. They stand behind their products 100% I didn't have to contact the manufacturer once. American Vision handled everything so professionally from the Sales rep who came to my home to the installation crew that were all certified and American Vision employees to the customer service just calling to check on me. THANK YOU AMERICAN VISION. I'm glad I checked them out even thought many of the comments here are negative. I had to see it for myself and I suggest you do the same. Good l more

Almost a year of incompetence, lies, stonewalling and apathy. 1/9/2008

This review refers to my experiences with the Orange County office of American vision windows. \r \r On November 30, 2006 I signed a contract for seven windows and three doors. The promised install date was 6-8 weeks, which would have been 1-25-2007. \r \r The problems started with the installation-scheduling manager and my experience with him alone would have made me cancel if I could have gotten out of the contract. He was rude, misled me, refused to answer questions, and was generally incompetent. \r \r When I placed the order the salesman assured me that my wooden French doors would be painted and/ or stained by American vision prior to install and that everything would be installed at once. This was important to me as I had a baby due and did not want paint fumes in the house with my pregnant wife. I also needed to schedule three other contractors around the window/ door install and I needed this done prior to the baby?s delivery date. \r \r My French doors were delivered to American v more

excellent quality experience 11/20/2007

I used AVW for my window replacement b/c I didn't want to do it myself. I've been a contractor for 20yrs and have never seen crews this good. Was hesitant at first becuase of other reviews on this site but this company is awsome. My salesperson was knowledgeable and they delivered everything as promised and on time. My neighbors also got windows from AVW and I was there for the installation. Totally different crew from my house but the quality and system was the same. These guys really have it down and understand window installation! Against my wifes advice some friends used a different window company and regret it. Would highly recomend AVW if looking for new windows or doors. more

Great Quality and Service 10/31/2007

American Vision installed my Clear View retractable screen door and did a great job. I had a cheaper Home Depot screen before and it basically fell apart. They were on time, very clean and called to follow up 2x after the installation more

Great window experience 10/30/2007

This company did my windows in thousand Oaks. The entire process was incredible. My installer was Bill V and he and his crew were very pleasant. They did all the work on time as promised. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for replacement windows. more

Beware of your credit card 10/26/2007

Don't let these people have your credit card. Thanks to them, I am now a victim of identity theft. They allowed my credit card as the 3 digit security code to be distributed to a untrustworthy person in their company and my credit card was run up with fraudulent charges. I have had to file a police report, purchase protection for my credit with the three credit reporting agencies. Pros: they showed up for the appointment 1 hour early! Cons: dishonest employees or clean crew, careless with your personal info more

I used American Vision Windows and it was the best decision I ever made. I got estimates from 4 other companies and should not have wasted my time. If anyone needs windows replaced don't bother looking elsewhere. Everyone at AVW was very courteous and professional. I would highly recomend this company to anyone. more

if i could do it over again 8/11/2007

a.v.w. would be the last co. that i would use for any type of business. they care more about making a buck than customer service . my calls went unanswerd for weeks until i called the bbb. even then they took their time to call . the work is so cheap looking that i could have done better with plexi glass and scotch tape . they care nothing about customer service. they make a bunch of promises to get the sale and then they look for their next victim. they should be called american vulture windows. if it wasn't that i bought this trash i would throw a brick through them. more

horrible customer service 8/11/2007

installers didn't read instructions. didn't pull our alarm wires through. wouldn't return our repeated phone calls. had to re-do our alarm system because of them. they wouldn't return our calls until we contacted the better business bureau. would never recommend them. more

Terrible Customer Service - my windows leak 12/4/2006

I cant get American Vision to fix my leaking windows. I called them two years after they installed them to tell them that a few of the windows were leaking. They sent out a supervisor and he made a report. It took American Vision 2 weeks to call me and tell me that they were not responsable for the leaks. They said it was not anything they did. I couldn't believe it. I called some other window companies that have said it was the cheap caulking that American Vision used. The problem is that there is now mold that can be seen. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and Contracors Board of California to try to get help. I dont have the money to fight a company like American Vision in court. I dont understand why they wouldnt want to work with me. I feel its the mold scaring them. I will post when I have an update. more
