The staffs who helped me upload and download my furniture and boxes who are very professional. The cost is reanable. The thing made me in trouble is the changeable schedule. When I reserved the my moving, the agent who gave the reasonable time, however, when the driver came and picked up my furntures, he told me the totally different schedule. I have to change my plan and come to my destination earlier than I should do. Next time, I hope the agent who can provide the customer the right time ealier. more

some disappointment, but overall satisfaction 8/6/2013

While our things were delivered to our address, they were delivered outside of the window, by about 3 days. I understand that it is a window, but the moving agent was unable to give us any information during the two week window because she was not getting the information from the driver's agent. This was unacceptable for our moving situation (moving across the US). Despite this, the moving agent seemed to be doing all that she could, and in the end, we did receive our items. The moving agent was very nice & patient with us. She was also able to assist us with certain requests we made due to the disappointments we encountered. There was one item missing, and the bookcase was damaged. However, the putting items into the truck as well as unloaded at delivery site was quick and efficient. Overall, customer service was satisfactory and we are happy to have our cargo delivered to us. This moving company was better than ones we had used in the past, and were able to accomodate us. more

Satisied With Recent Move 8/1/2013

I recently moved from Philadelphia to western Maryland using All State Van Lines. Overall, the move went very smoothly. They arrived on the date and time they said they would, and were able to pickup/delivery all within one day. The actual movers were well-mannered and quick/efficient. It was obvious that they had experience with moving. In addition, the customer service and dispatch representatives were available at all times (within reason) whenever I called about questions/concerns. AWFUL!! 7/31/2013

All State cancelled on us less than 24 hrs before our move. Advising they found a higher paying customer. The sold our space to another person. They tried to get us to cancel the order, meaning they would get the full deposit of $1300 if we cancelled and it would not be refunded. All State's President: Aldo DiSorbo has a horrible reputation all over the country. Do your research, he has closed and re-opened moving broker companies all over the US under different names. Here's the deal: they contracted at a certain price, weight and date, then they changed it over and over again and each time asking us "do you want to cancel". They make it impossible to finish the move all the while riding you to cancel and forego your 50% deposit. more

However, based on the information provided in your online submission we were able to locate and review your account, and the following will serve as a formal response to the claims made. With your relocation contracted to occur between 05/29/2013-05/30/2013, our records confirm that we initially attempted to contact you on 05/15/2013 regarding your ability to accommodate a later pickup window of 05/30/2013-06/01/2013 and a voice message was left to advise. On 05/28/2013, 48 hours prior to the last day of your estimated pickup window, you were contacted again regarding the possibility of accommodating a later pickup. Despite the claims made, there is no record of your account manager advising that our company filled your space with a higher paying customer, as we do not auction the pickup dates provided. Due to the vulnerability of the moving industry to unforeseen delays, all dates are estimates and not guaranteed and this information is outline within that contractual documentation you received upon reservation. When asked if you could accommodate a later pickup on 06/01/2013, you advised that you could not at which point you were told by your account manager that if you refused pickup on 06/01/2013 we could not guarantee that we would be able to assign an agent by the end of your estimated pickup window. However, you were assured that she would continue to monitor your account for agent assignment and in the event that we did not have an agent assigned by the end of your estimated pickup window, then you were eligible for a refund of your total deposit. Unfortunately, due to our inability to assign an agent to your account, within your preferred time frame, and your inability to accommodate a later pickup, you requested to dismiss our services and a total refund of your entire deposit was issued to your financial institution on 06/07/2013. Please know that at no point did we attempt to encourage you to cancel with the intention of keeping your deposit and we apologize that you feel that way. Again, we extend our apologies for the inconveniences caused. Should you have any further concerns that you would like to have addressed please feel free to contact our office at 800-741-6837 at your earliest convenience. These guys did a good job packing and taking care of furniture- some of them antiques. The only hiccup was they arrived sooner than expecte4d at the other end and we were not quite ready for them. But we scrambled and they took care of us. Thank you. more

Moved from VA to NYC. Very pleased with the service. 7/22/2013

I had to move on short notice to NYC from VA and All State was very accommodating and very efficient. The movers (contracted out via All State) showed up exactly when they said they would and were very professional and quick. I had packed myself but was still moving a bed and dresser etc. My estimate was pretty much dead on plus some mattress wrapping cost (reasonable and expected) and insurance (definitely make sure you get insurance). The driver was very good about letting me know where my stuff was and when they would be able to have it delivered, only a couple days later. All of my things arrived safely and undamaged. Tipped the driver a bit as appropriate for a job well done. Overall very satisfied. more

Overall good. Frustrating that we were only told at 12:30 on second day that they would be coming later that day. We were getting pretty frantic about no show and got busy with alternate plans. There is enough to worry about when you are moving.Office support was not giving us any assurance, just telling us they were trying to hire a driver. Could have been worse. 7/9/2013

My moving experience wasn't ideal by any means, but it wasn't nearly as bad as other reviews I've read. I was moving from Alabama to Missouri. First of all, I paid $1600 to move one bedroom. A lot more than I'd have liked to pay, but that seems to be the going rate. I was told that the movers would arrive to pick up my stuff on June 21st, however I recieved a call a couple days before telling me that the movers wouldn't be able to fit my things on the truck. So I waited, and finally they called and told me the movers would arrive on the 27th, almost a week later. I got a call on the 26th telling me the movers wouldn't be able to make it yet again. At this point, I called another moving company and hired them instead, and in the morning told All State that I would be cancelling with them. When the movers turned up that day I assumed they were from the new company I hired, however they ended up being from All State and I had no choice but to cancel my cancellation. So I wasted $200 putting down a deposit on the second company. This was obviously a huge inconvenience for me, and was very frustrating as well. That being said, the movers were extremely courteous, and I enjoyed talking to them while they were loading up my things. They delivered my things way faster than I was expecting, only two days after picking them up. None of my items were damged or missing, and everything was as it should be. I was extremely satisfied with the movers themselves. My account manager, Cruz, was also very courteous and professional. My job numer is #10299531-06 more

Do Not Use This Company - What a Nightmare! 7/7/2013

If I could give this company zero stars, I would do so. First of all, you need to understand that All State Van Lines Relocation, Inc. is NOT a moving company. They are something called a "moving broker". In theory, this could be a good thing - a middle man who puts consumers in touch with moving companies. In practice, this is a very bad idea. They claim to be able to give you an accurate estimate of your moving costs by using a detailed checklist and taking inventory over the phone. DO NOT DO THIS! The estimates they place on the weight of items is seriously under weight and in the event that you overlook something, you will pay whatever your actual weight is, so do not work with any company that conducts a phone-based inventory. Next, read the fine print. That's an absolute requirement in All State's case as they hide behind the fine print and refuse to help you if any issues arise regarding your move. Since All State is not an actual moving company, they subcontract with a real moving company. Then, if you have any issues, All State's response is, "It's not our problem. The agent (subcontracted moving company) sets these policies and there's nothing we can do." Specifically, in our case, there were two major problems (so far). First, even though the All State sales rep assured us up front that all we would pay is the up-front deposit with the balance due on delivery, one business day before the movers were scheduled to show up, we were informed that we had to come up with half of the remaining balance due in a cashier's check or they would not pick up our furniture. To me, this is one step short of extortion. Second, the "estimated delivery date", even though it is specified in the contract, is meaningless. We are anywhere from five to thirteen days late (and counting!) on our delivery (depending on how you calculate it) and All State's response is, "It's not our problem. The agent sets the delivery schedule and there's nothing we can do." more

Based on the information provided we were able to locate and review your account. Due to the nature of the moving industry delay occurrences may arise that are beyond our control, therefore, all dates requested are estimates and our contracts are drafted with this in mind. Our records indicate that as soon as we were aware of the delivery delay we relayed this information to you and informed you that compensation for this would be collectible through our claims process. However, we extended our sincere apology for not being able to deliver within the preferred time frame but please know that we were contracted by you to act on your behalf as a liaison between you and the agent and all actions taken were done with your best interest at heart. We apologize that you feel that information provided to you was misleading as we strive to ensure that all our customers are clear on every step of their relocation process with us. Our estimate is binding as long as the information relayed to us is accurate and the actual inventory matches that which is represented on the furniture list used to generate your estimate. Our system is designed to overestimate the weight of each item in an effort to ensure that the actual weight of your shipment is less than the estimate which will lead to you paying less than the amount quoted to you. Despite these efforts, our records confirm that your weight increased above that which was estimated and as such, additional charges were incurred. While very few do, all agents reserve the right to collect up to 70% of the remaining balance prior to the loading of household items which is outlined in the paperwork provided to you when your reservation is made; this is what your account manager tried to explain, as we do not know what agent will service the move at the time of booking. Should an agent decide to go this route and we notice that inconveniences will occur, we try to negotiate with them which, your account indicates, was done by your moving consultant. Despite his efforts, the agent would not reconsider which is why you were required to pay a percentage of the funds due before they loaded your items. Our records confirm that compensation was offered for the delays and inconveniences experienced which you proceeded to decline but, should you be willing to reconsider our offer you may contact our office at 800-741-6837 at your earliest convenience. Again, our office extends our sincere apologies and we hope to hear from you in the near future. Sincerely, All State Van Lines Relocation Inc

Military Move 7/6/2013

Our request for the military to service our move fell through, and All State was there for us immediately. They were able to get us scheduled with just a couple days notice for our desired pick up time. The pick-up crew from Colonial Van Lines was great, explained the paperwork thoroughly and finished packing and loading in one day. Our move was from MD to TN, and they got there ahead of us! They were ready to unload the truck as soon as we got into town which also went very smoothly. Elizabeth and Monique (? the rep from All State) were great and checked in with us several times during the process. Thanks for everything, will use you again! more

Damages, lost items and waiting... 6/28/2013

Loading our items here is what we experienced: our mattress, headboard and 2 bikes weren't able to fit INSIDE the moving truck (there was other stuff in the truck before it got to us) so the movers shut their truck door and tied our mattress, headboard and 2 bikes to the back of their truck with tape and strings. I took pictures of this as well. This seemed a little frightening to see those items tied up on the back of the truck, hanging out let alone a little dangerous and unprofessional...Let alone this being pretty ghetto - I don't think anyone would feel comfortable in the way that was done with their items literally hanging from the back of a moving truck. After 19 days our trucks finally arrived to our new home. Here's what we experienced... The two movers were very very difficult to communicate with. They lost our DRESSER, TWO NIGHT STANDS, and The legs to our kitchen table which is pretty much useless now. They scratched up our hardwood floors by slamming our armchairs down and dragging them across the floor. With our missing furniture and damaged floors we would have honestly paid thousands more for better service as we now have to get new furniture to replace the lost pieces and fix our flooring. Please never use these guys - they are cheap brokers who use cheap moving services (Best Price Moving & Storage) to do the work and they will lose your things, and they will not show up on time. Whatever you do DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS, i would love to save you a headache and not have you waste your money (and time) even if they cost less - you will end up paying more in lost and damaged goods. First Time Movers - would use again! 6/26/2013

Overall, we were really happy with All State. We had a unique situation in that we didn't have a lot of weight to our stuff and they worked with us to find a price point that made sense for us and them. Our drivers were friendly and patient in explaining everything to us. Our stuff arrived on time and in the same condition it was when they picked it up.
