I recently relocated my mother from NYC after 56 years to New Orleans. My account executive was awesome. He was always there when no one else could be reached. If it weren't for him my experience would have been neutral to unfavorable. The movers on both ends were considerate, and careful in loading and unloading my mom's personal belonging. They genuinely aimed to please. more

I recently moved from New Orleans to Charlotte with All State Van Lines (job # 10465612-06) and had a great experience. I called All State Van Lines on Thursday and they were able to fit me into their schedule for a move the coming Monday, working around my afternoon flight to make sure that I could still make it. They gave me an estimate based on our conversation and processed all of the paperwork and gave me the option for additional insurance. The driver (with Best Moving Group out of Maryland) contacted me Sunday night to confirm 8:00a arrival Monday morning, commenting that he wanted to make sure I had time to get to the airport. Monday morning the driver and another mover arrived on time to my building. They walked me through the paperwork and then packed up all of my belongings quickly and efficiently, while still carefully wrapping any fragile items. They had everything wrapped, boxed up, and in the truck within two hours. Over the next few weeks, while I was looking for a place to live in Charlotte, they stored all of my things so I didn’t even have to worry about it until I provided them with an address and delivery date. Again, the driver called to let me know what day/time he would be delivering my things. He and the other mover unloaded everything efficiently into my new apartment and set up the furniture again where I wanted it. All of my belongings were delivered together with nothing missing or damaged. Everyone I worked with was friendly and professional and made sure everything worked out despite the last minute move. Even though the estimate was made over the phone without seeing how much I had and without knowing when and where delivery would be made (since I had not yet found a place to live), the final bill including storage in transit was within $100 of what I was initially quoted. I would definitely recommend All State Van Lines Relocation; this was my first time hiring a moving company so I was nervous entrusting anyone with all of my things but this company took care of everything! more

I just moved from a 2-bedroom apartment in Michigan to a home in Minnesota right before the holidays. I was nervous about getting everything moved before Christmas, but the service from All State Van Lines was great! The movers were on time, very efficient, and were very clean. I had a lot of unique and delicate furniture and decorations, but the movers were very careful and diligent about protecting everything. The representatives from All State Van Lines kept me updated on the move and guided me through the process of moving, which was great because I had never used a moving company before. After unpacking, everything was in great condition and there were no headaches involved! more

When I had to look for a long distance mover, I was very skeptical. Everyone has heard horror stories about movers who demanded large sums of additional money when they delivered the furniture or the stories of broken or missing items. I am pleased to say that my experience with All State Van Lines was awesome. The movers arrived on time at my home in Washington State and my furniture was delivered in Kentucky earlier than we expected. The movers were very professional and took great care wrapping furniture prior to loading. The All State Van Line Account Manager stayed in touch with me through the entire process to keep me informed and verify my satisfaction. The final total increased by about $150 because the moving truck couldn't get within 75 feet of my apartment. We chose All State Van Lines because they promised a discount and good service. Sadly, we ended up with neither. They did their estimate over the phone, told us it was binding and then called us 5 days before the move was scheduled and doubled it. They then demanded $900 more for extra packing materials after the pickup, even though we were 880 pounds below the second estimate(which by the way was not binding as they told us it was.) We paid $1900 for packing services but no packers came. Instead, they sent 2 young men who did not speak English very well to pack and load a 3 bedroom home with basement. I shudder to think what would have happen if we had not packed the basement and bathrooms ahead of time. The moving day took 13.5 hours. I had to begin cleaning my house at 9:30 pm because we were leaving the next day. The truck they sent was too small and we had to leave behind several valuable items. We were not reimbursed for these items because the driver did not add them to our "list." We were only given 2 days notice of our pickup despite multiple phone calls to All State. We had to wait 12 days for our delivery, much of it spent on an air mattress. When the truck arrived, it was the same size as the original truck but a different truck. Our mattresses and bicycles were strapped to the lift gate and got wet. The mattresses were ruined. They had left our 24 foot extension ladder on the original truck and no one knows where it went. Things were not packed properly and several items were broken or badly damaged, including an antique mirror. The movers threw trash around our home and did not pick up on either end. They did not understand our directions and we have ended up moving much of what they delivered and have had to carry it upstairs. We are not young people and this has been hard. The moving coordinator has not appeared to care. I have had to will myself not to cry over this expensive nightmare. more

We used Allstate movers and were very happy with them. They came on the scheduled day to move us out of our home and arrived right on time at our new address. We moved from Scottsboro, Alabama to Weston Florida. The movers were professional and took pride in the job they did. The home office keep us informed with delivery and it was nice to work with people who care. We had 5 quotes for the move and Allstate was the 4th lowest. Would recommend them to anyone . more

I wanted to share our great experience with All State Van Lines Relocation (#10411048-06-A). Moving a wide assortment of furniture (including a few family antiques) and a large number of boxes from OH to PA was for me a huge challenge - but from the first contact with them, they arranged everything and followed up with us frequently so that we were completely aware of costs, timing, how fragile articles needed to be prepared ahead of time, etc. While everyone I had contact with throughout the move was very professional and patient with my questions, the customer service representative in particular was extremely responsive - very easy to reach by phone and email - or if not available at the time of the call, called me back immediately within the next hour or so. Amazingly - nothing was lost or damaged during the move (we had an assortment of "loose" items which simply would not fit into boxes) and everything arrived well within the original timeframe that I was given on the first call. Also, while the weather was great on the day things were picked up, we were not so lucky on the delivery day in PA. It was pouring rain and we were quite concerned about water damage to the furniture (those family antiques certainly don't need any more "spots") as well as the carpeting in the house. The delivery guys were wonderful! They were careful to keep all of the furniture covered while unloading and very respectful of the floors. We were thrilled that the delivery guys were willing to go the extra step to deal with the absolutely terrible weather (they were wet but our stuff was not) and as careful as we would have been had we been doing the moving ourselves. I definitely would use their services again! more

Overall the company was good. They stayed in communication to make sure I was updated with the status of my move and were considerably cheaper than other quotes. The quote that they gave was what it turned out to be and there were no issues. Took a little longer than I would have likedtodeliver my things it at least I was aware of the timeframe. more

All our items came in good condition(especially all the glassware and cutlery),none was damaged.They were very fast in unloading as well.Moved from seattle to austin. After calling several movers, all state van lines had the cheapest deal, even if we had hauled everything it would have costed more.They gave us the best deal possible. JOB #10398642-06 This is a great moving company that I definitely recommend. The company made sure to call me several times up until the move to make sure everything was in order. The movers came, were extremely nice and took the time to pack up my belongings the right way. My only complaint would be that they told me they would deliver the furniture in a 1-2 week window and the delivery arrived in 2 days. If I knew it would arrive that quickly I would have made plans to pick up my furniture sooner. This is me being extremely picky because it is honestly hard to find something wrong with this company- they we're excellent. If I had to move again, I would without a doubt be using this company again! more

I'm not going to say this is the best or worst moving company as honestly I haven't had a ton of experience hiring movers. I will say initially dealing with them on the phone was a relatively painless experience. My only major gripe was that I was told that our move was the last on their list as they made their way to Chicago (which in turn means you'll be one of the first to actually get your stuff delivered). This turned out to be the complete opposite. They showed up with a completely empty truck and we quickly realized we were the first on the list, and the last to actually receive our things, and thus sat in our new apartment for about 4-5 days waiting on our stuff to arrive, which it finally did at around 9:00 PM. Trying to get any information on when we would actually get our stuff during that time became even more of a hassle as everyone seemed to just get really defensive when I would ask and quickly remind me that they never guaranteed any kind of a date in the beginning (which is true, they will give you a general time-frame of about a week when scheduling your move, but a big part of us going with them was the salesman assuring us that we would have our stuff within a day or two of arriving at our new place). We also were given an estimate on the weight of our move (which determines the price they give you) which was grossly under what it actually came out to be and ended up costing me a good deal more in the end. I won't fault them for this though as we run a printmaking studio from our house and materials and supplies are next to impossible to realistically catalog with any degree of certainty. I will say too that in both cases the movers they sent were great, worked amazingly fast, and were courteous and helpful throughout the entire process. All in all, with the exception of sitting on the floor of our apartment wondering when we'd ever get our things, that they're a good moving company, and for the most part very responsive and helpful. more

I moved from Virginia to Oregon. I hesitated on using All State Relocation services but was convinced by Renzo that the bad reviews I read were just isolated and that All State Controls all aspects of the move and the money that is paid by the customer. That is just one BIG lie. All they control is their Broker fee. The low ball estimate I was given was less than half of what I ended up paying. I was called 5 days before my scheduled pick up and was weight estimate increased 4,000 lbs. My actual weight was twice what they estimated. My delivery date window in Oregon was 8/2-8/8/13. Nationwide Carriage Lines was hired by All State to move my property. All State changed account manager's on me 4 times during my move and nobody there could provide me with any reliable information about my move. The truck driver and his helper were friendly and courteous but not very knowledgeable about loading. The driver's teenage son's also helped load my property which made me nervous. With 20 boxes left to load, the driver told me he didn't have anymore room and asked me which boxes I wanted to leave behind. I then had to tell them how to load the rest of my boxes. After they loaded our property, the driver got on his cell phone and later said that he believed the weight was 1,200 lbs more and adjusted my balance due on delivery. He said he would call me in a few hours with the exact weight after he cleared the scales. I never heard from him or anyone else for the next 7 days. No one from All State had any info on my weight or projected delivery date. I was told Lie after Lie from everyone involved in my move. Everyone at All State were either Incompetent or Liar's. At first, I was told that there were 3 drop offs and I was the 4th. The truth was that the Driver was Zig-Zagging across America doing 18-20 moves. My delivery was made on 8/22/13, with numerous items broken and missing. No apologies, just "well there's a lot of shifting weight going on, what do you expect". Save yourself the agony, choose Mayflower or Allied..... more

All State Van Lines are the worst movers I have ever used. First of all, they are brokers not movers. They take your deposit (which is actually their broker's fee), they give you a binding estimate (which is not binding - they will double it later), they promise certain pickup and delivery dates, and then they wash their hands of you. Two weeks ago, movers from Ocean Moving and Storage - people I had never heard of - came to my house and picked up all my worldly possessions. They had been subcontracted by All State, and had clearly been sent out on the job at the very last minute, They packed my stuff into a Penske rental and took it to Framingham, MA, where it sits on a loading dock to this day. All State assures me that my possessions are safely locked in a secure warehouse, but they have no way of knowing that. They also don't know when my things will be delivered. It could be as late as October. (My things were picked up in late August.) The excuses All State has given me for this long delay are absurd, First they said there were forest fires in CA (as if trucks drive through Yosemite National Park), a thunder storm, Rosh Hashanah. The truth is that the movers have overbooked, and there are no trucks available. If you use these people, you will regret it. Don't be fooled by their initial low estimate and fake delivery dates. Go with a legitimate moving company. more

We had a large storage unit in Chicago and was unable to take time away from work or come up with the money to rent a truck so i did some research on hiring a mover ,it turns out to hire All State Van lines Relo it was 1500 bucks cheaper than any truck rental and gas was included, and they unpacked my storage unit ,loaded it onto an 18 wheeler drove it to southwest Florida 1487 miles called me when they were 2 hours away ,i meet them at my house they unloaded everything and put where it belonged in my house ,they picked the load up on Friday and delivered it Monday morning at 11 am, i never lifted a finger ,very pleased if i ever move again i will hire All State Van lines Relocation without a doubt it was painless.. more
