THE WORST! My washing machine only needed a pump (according to the technician) until he went back in to look at it. Then it needed a completely new circuit board and was a brick. He then LIED to our faces about the service fee -- which the office told him to refund in full. He charged us anyway. The office admitted all of this. After that, the so-called, unbelievably arrogant ""manager"" wouldn't even give us a refund. Her claim was that the fraudulent service tech ""didn't represent the company."" Are you kidding me?? These people are the WORST. Go FAR AWAY.\r FYI...an ""F"" from the Better Business Bureau. Shocking. more

Called Action Appliance and they sent out a tech. The service was fast and guy was nice. The issue he gave me a quote of $300 for the part and $100 for the labor. The part for this machine is very expense the lowest I can find it and give to you for is $300. Searching Google the water inlet value ranged from $49.98-$98.57 they offered a $25 reduction $375 from $400. When I said no they said you signed our contract and there is a 25% cancellation fee. They are refusing to issue a refund and have charged me $159.00. The manager Elisa says there is nothing else I can do and no one else you can take to above me! Really wow that's bad. Ray more

CROOKS! WORST ""CUSTOMER SERVICE"" EVER!!! RUN AWAY FAST FROM THIS SCAM OF A ""COMPANY"". THEIR TACTICS ARE THROUGH DISRESPECT AND DECEPTION. \r \r We had them come look at our gas stove and our gas fireplace as they'd stopped working. I was told I'd need to play $54 for the visit. Okay- agreed. After that, it all fell away. The guy did nothing but try to up-sell and convince us we needed a horrible warranty for THREE months of coverage. He gave his spiel to every one of us over and over. \r \r Repair wise: TOTAL ESTIMATE- $1100. $900 for fireplace - $235 for stove. My father came over with the part and fixed BOTH in 10 minutes for $34!!!\r \r For the stove- I FIXED IT IN TEN SECONDS WHEN HE LEFT!!! All I needed to do was pull a washer out of knob hole. He didn't even try to pull the washer out and said we needed all new washers- dinky little rubber washers. As soon as he left, I fished the washer out and put it back in place- voila, it worked. \r \r I called to let them know that we no longer needed the work done as we were able to fix it all for $34 dollars and they were going to charge us $1100.00. \r \r The ""Manager"" was a RUDE, unprofessional character who spoke down to me informing me that we were responsible for 25% of the total cost of the visit due. Are you kidding me!? I told her I'd gladly pay for the $54 trip fee, but nothing further. She lectured me on needing to read something before signing, and was condescending, rude, aggressive, and completely unapologetic. \r \r I AM TAKING THIS UP WITH THE BBB, AND WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD...PERHAPS THAT PERSON IS THE ""MANAGER"" OF THIS COMPANY- IN WHICH CASE, HAVE AT IT, TAKE A DOSE OF YOUR OWN CRIMINAL MEDICINE. THEY ARE CROOKS, WRETCHED, AND HAVE NOT AN OUNCE OF INTEGRITY.\r \r I have never seen, heard of, or fathomed a ""company"" such as this. Action Appliance needs to and will be reported.\r \r \r more

If there is a worse applicane repair company out there I'd like to hear about it. These guys came in to repair our fridge, which, admittedly, they did. While doing it, they scratched the you-know-what out of our hardwood floors and then tried to have us sign something saying they weren't responsible, after the fact. For our oven repair, we had a new control panel put in, that, as it turns out, we didn't need. Now we need new door hinges we're told, for $700 more. But, they are still saying the control panel was defective. Convenient. On top of that, we got to have their ""tech"" in our house for hours at a time, one time until 10:30 at night, so we could wake up and have the oven still not work. This company is non-responsive and takes no responsibility for their mistakes. I beg of you, do not use them. If you like giving people money for nothing, please, you can give it to me and I can recoup what I have lost with this company. more

This company is a rip off!! They quoted one price over the phone and when they arrived , it turns out that that price was only the trip charge, which was $79. The problem with my dishwasher was that one washer arm had become detached and it took less than 10 minutes to diagnose and fix the problem by re-connecting two plastic connectors from the dish rack to the washer arm. For this they charged an additional $140!! This translates to an hourly charge of about $1200. The Tech then spent another 15 minutes trying to sell me additional, unwanted and unneeded ""filter cleaning"" services for my refrigerator and dryer vent. more

quoted one price and recieved a 5/29/2012

quoted one price and recieved a different price when the tech came..he could not tell me why this price was..just that he entered it in the computer and the computer would tell him the price..had me over a barrell..agreed to the work, then damaged the wall on install without cleaning the debris or acknowledging the damage..I agree with the rest of the reviews written..AVOID and take your business elsewhere more

I have to agree with the other reviews 3/27/2012

I have to agree with the other reviews posted, do not use Action Appliance. I had them diagnose a problem with my microwave. It was the smart board which I was told by the technician was an expensive part but worth replacing versus a new microwave. I was told the repair would cost $530 and was not told how much the smart board costs. Unfortunately, I accepted the quote. Shame on me for not checking the internet. When I checked on line for the part, I could get it from Sears for $200 including shipping. That means Action was going to charge me $330 to install it! We are talking about removing a few screws and plugging in the new board. I called and complained but they didn't care and told me that is what they needed to charge in order to stay in business. What they need is customers to stay in business and they no longer have me as one! I cancelled the order and was charged 25% of the estimate + the service call or $180 but I figure I am still ahead and I'm not giving them any more than that. They had already charged my credit card and when I asked when I would see the refund I was told 4-6 weeks! It took them 30sec to charge my card but 4-6 weeks to process my refund!!! STAY AWAY more

I suggest that no one use action 3/21/2012

I suggest that no one use action appliance. I had them out to fix my washer, ice maker and stove. They would not tell me how much for parts, labor materials. They tell you it is a complete figure by the computer. Beware right there a reputable company will give you a real estimate broken down. They said it would be 1,394.00 to fix. I said you must be crazy. I can just buy new their response is it will be better then new. Since now they just make junk. I sent them away looked up the parts they were 189.00...WOW... Had someone else out cost 304.00 for everything and a great job. The washer just needed an adjustment...Please beware do not use more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY 12/28/2011

My oven started displaying an error code when trying the self clean function. Action Appliance came out and quoted me a price, but that price kept going up as they needed to replace more parts than they originally quoted me for. In the end, after they had replaced all the parts they needed, the oven still did not work--once my tenant suggested that perhaps it was a loose wire, the repairman checked and tightened up the wires--the oven worked fine. I'm not positive we needed to replace any parts at all. I'm not sure Action Appliance tried to take more money on purpose, or was just plain not able to effectively troubleshoot the problem in the first place. more

Action Applicance 11/6/2011

DO NOT USE -- OVERCHARGES!!!!! When they came out to see what the problem was, they would not tell me what part needed to be replaced. After the washer was fixed I looked up the part on the internet. I found out that the part cost $100.00. They charged me a total of 423.47. Over $300.00 for service call and labor? It did not even take a hour to fix. When I called the office to work out the problem they stated that the part cost them $300.00 and service call and labor was $123.47. Unbelievable I stated I wanted the part removed and I will replace the part myself. They then stated that it would cost me $250.00 for another service call, labor and restocking fees. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!! more

119 BBB Customer Comp/aints - Rude - Don't use these people 7/27/2011

Most unprofessional business I have EVER encountered. The woman on the phone (Amy) actually said ""I don't know why you think I would know the details of your order - the guy that knows is not here - I can't help you."" With a rude and defensive attitude in answer to my inquiry as to why something I ordered weeks ago was not installed, nor had I been contacted. Check out their BBB (not accredited) rating: (citysearch would not let me post the link so you need to google ""BBB Actiona Appliance Denver"" and read - here are the details: From BBB's website: Factors that lowered Action Appliance, Inc.'s rating include: 119 complaints filed against business Length of time business has been operating. Response to 119 complaint(s) filed against business. Resolution of complaint(s) filed against business. BBB has sufficient background information on this business. The BBB has noticed a pattern of complaints concerning repair issues as well as customer service issues. Repair issues allege inferior repair (i.e. appliance breaks down again shortly after repair), repairman arrives late or does not show up at all, multiple service calls are required to repair the same problem, and repairmen using incorrect parts and misdiagnosing original problems. Customer service issues allege rude behavior by company personnel, failure to return consumer's calls, hanging up on consumers and not informing consumers of a 25% restocking fee for parts not used/cancelled. You will likely be sorry if you use this business - they are very unprofessional and show a lack of concern for customer service or satisfaction that I have never encountered. more

seems like a scam based around absurd quotes on parts 7/25/2011

The technician came, diagnosed a problem with the control panel on our dishwasher. He quoted a repair price of $440. When he left, we looked up the cost of the part, which turned out to be $130. Even including the cost of labor, Action's warranty, etc., this is an outrageous markup. I am furious that I wasted $54.95 having them come out to waste my time with such an absurd quote. So ridiculous, in fact, that it was about $90 more than we paid to have the entire machine delivered and installed. Is it their business practice to collect your $54.95, give an outrageous quote and then leave? Given the other reviews here, apparently so. At least we weren't screwed on the ""restocking"" fees like other people were. I called them to ask why there was such an enormous discrepancy, and they simply said, ""we don't compete with internet prices."" Hmm, good answer... I sure wish I'd looked at the number of BBB complaints there are against them BEFORE we called (119 in the past 3 years). more

Great Company 11/9/2010

I have used this company for years and NEVER had any problems. Their office staff is polite and their technicians have always been professional. If you need your appliance fixed fast call them. more

WATCH OUT! 10/19/2010

John & Ashley is still at it with their rediculous attitudes and scam program. I should have read the reviews, and now I'm sorry. These guys keep the BBB busy. They charged me over $800 to repair something that was not broken. The technician was nice but later called to apologize. He quit and said the owners whole business is to sell parts at extreme (retail +300%) cost and rack up unnecessary repairs. Although Ashley likes to yell at her customers that they are all well trained, the technician said he never received anythign but a little OJT and then was set out on bogus repair trips. I'll be filing a legal fraud complaint on this one. It's wasn't just bad service and a rude response - it's a felony. more

Action Appliance = 96 complaints in 36 months, 49 in last year!!!!!!!!!!! 8/13/2008

This is the most unprofessinoal group of clowns we have ever encountered. John and Ashley rate up there in the worst customer service, to the point of thinking you are on Candid Camera or something because it is so bad you have to think someone is punking you. John called my husband names like sport, ace, pal, and jurk in a very rude manner. Action tried 6 times to fix our dishwasher, charged us $400, with no working dishwasher to date. They are refusing to refund us, so we are taking further steps. , To our shock, not really, there are 96 complaints against them and they lost their accreditation standing on 8/8/08. BEWARE of Action and the horrible people like Ashley and John who work there. They are AWFUL!!!!!!!! Cons: Incompetence, rudeness, unprofessionalism, appalling behavior from the ""president"" more
