Do not use this company! Yesterday a technician replaced a part in an air conditioning unit that is only 5 years old. I paid $700 for 15 minutes labor (the part was under warranty). To add insult to injury, the AC still did not work. Another technician came this morning, told me the things that yesterday's guy did wrong, and assured me it was fixed. But it's not fixed. So someone is coming again tomorrow to "fix" the AC. Meanwhile, I have to wait at home each time. more

Great Diagnosis, Excellent Service 1/20/2018

We did not like waiting all day for someone to show up BUT we we very pleased with how quickly and accurately Leon diagnosed the problem with our furnace. He through explained everything he was doing when he diagnosed the problem, and quickly came to a solution which invoked primarily cleaning up water and drying out the inducer fan and checking the pressure switch functionality. He did not try to push replacement of any parts and explained what could be done to minimize he chance of this happening again. He also answered all my questions about other modifications which could be done to address humidification and air quality issues. Great customer skills! more

Friendly and professional technician! 12/14/2017

Our heating and air conditioning technician, Donald, is very professional and friendly. He remembered me in December from a call to fix our broken AC this summer, which I did not expect since he must go to many homes. He was just doing a routine check up and made some suggestions for us to upgrade our system to save on our bills. Since we just rent, we have to go through our landlord for any upgrades that cost money. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication and our landlord ended up being rude to the technician who was just trying to do his job (I imagine suggesting upgrades are required on all house calls). He was very professional and nice and I feel very bad that he was treated so poorly on the phone. Overall, great service both this summer and today in December! more

Great service 7/13/2017

My AC stopped on one of the hottest days of the year. ARS (Laurel office) sent out Donald L., whom I have used previously, to diagnose and fix my problem. He got right to work, fixed it and then explained what the issue had been. He did all this in a pleasant and professional manner and put on his sanitary booties over his shoes to walk on my floors, which I greatly appreciate. I am very pleased with the top notch service I received both from ARS responding quickly to my needs and to Donald L for his excellent service. more

Circuit Board 5/31/2017

Hello, Jonathan and Brandon replaced the circuit board on my carrier unit and did a great job.Also they wiped the unit down and vacuum out the control section which they did not have to do. Both men were very friendly and would have them out here again. more

I had a very good experience with John Mullins. John came twice to the property. He inspected the furnace, diagnosed the issue, and placed an order for the part needing replacement. He came back within a week, installed the part, and got the system back on. John was GREAT! He was professional, courteous, and above all an expert in his domain. He was on time and conducted himself respectfully during both visits. His diagnosis was efficient and accurate. His input was candid and with integrity. I am an assistant that was at the house for service to my bosses AC. Yonas was the assigned tech and was extremely knowledgeable and gave great advise on how to correct the issue. He also addressed/advised to handling some other minor issues that he noticed when servicing. more

ARS TECHNITION SERVICE 5/29/2016

THOMAS WAS A GREAT TECHNICIAN. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND FRIENDLY AND WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH MY AC UNIT WHICH WAS UNDER WARRANTY. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE SCHEDULING DEPARTMENT. I CALLED TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT OF FRIDAY AND THEY SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT FOR SUNDAY FROM 0800-1300; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT UNTIL I CALLED THAT THEY ENDED SENDING A TECH OUT TO HELP ME. IT IS LIKE THEY FORGOT ABOUT MY APPOINTMENT AND ENDED UP PLUGGING ME IN AT THE END OF THE DAY. STILL I'M GRATEFUL FOR TOM AND HIS PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. THANKS. more

Outstanding Technician 5/15/2016

I am giving three stars due to an inability to really rate the company itself, and therefore a desire to not artificially affect their average. The technician absolutely deserves five stars, individually. ARS / Rescue Rooter (Laurel) HVAC technician Joseph M. was outstanding. I am writing this review at his request, which I suspect is a company policy, but: he deserves recognition for a job well done for two specific reasons. 1. He was generous with his time and knowledge, allowing me to tag along as he performed his multi-point inspection and explaining what he was doing as he went. He gave me tips on things like ensuring my HVAC drain line remains clear, and showed me (via on-site photo) the condition of my blower coil. 2. He was honest and forthright. For example, when the temperature drop across my blower didn't appear to be as high as desired, he made every effort to find the best measurement points to ensure an accurate assessment. Those two things alone are enough to drive repeat business from me. Unfortunately, I do not have a dire need for service above and beyond the annual inspection I scheduled, so I cannot rate the company beyond his performance. I have some misgivings about the company's menu pricing method that he displayed. Additionally, the monthly service plan did not mathematically appear to be worth it: $16 per mo. x 12 mo. is essentially $200 per year for two inspections and a meagre percentage off services if services are required (example: roughly $30 off $250+ refrigerant recharge). At the $59 per inspection rate, unless your system is failing regularly and expensively (at which point it becomes more cost effective to outright replace it), the service plan will not pay for itself. I should note that he honored the $10 coupon on my Home Depot filter purchase, so the whole inspection came to $49 -- which I, in my limited experience, did not find unreasonable. more

Rating for Joseph M. 5/4/2016

Joseph came to our house within an hour of being notified. His appearance was neat and very professional. I explained our problem with having no a/c and off he went to the outside unit. He immediately checked the dual capacitor and found it to be the overall problem. He replaced the bad unit and the outside unit took off running...we had a/c!! Joseph knew what he was doing and did it well. I might note that this capacitor was said to be out of tolerance in our spring maintenance routine. Why wasn't it changed out then? Again, Joseph is an outstanding employee and ars can be very proud of him. more

Great Technician 5/2/2016

Jonathan T was sent today to trouble shoot after two previous visits for the spring check-up of my A/C unit. Jonathan approached the problem as a great detective would locating the issue. He has come up with a plan, and parts should be ordered. Looking forward to Jonathan T.'s return to make all working fine. ARS Laurel is extremely lucky to have Jonathan T. on their staff. more
