And best of all my wife ""still"" gave this deadhead a $3 tip, way to much. Shoulda called the van taxi at the airport that took us to the hotel. Poor ambassadors for the city, sad case of affairs. Maybe he needs a different job if he's unhappy. more

Better but not good 4/21/2012

After years and years living in the great city of Charleston, I have low expectations of he cabs here. I moved away 6 years ago and have realized the distance vs fair is more than reasonable in Charleston ($8.00 for a mile where I live vs $25 from downtown to Folly which is about 8 miles). Yes...cabs suck and Yellow is there with them but Friday night from Market to the round holiday inn with a random flag was $12. The ride down in A Yellow was $7 and the ride back was the same... THEY are CONSISTENT with pricing! Some will rip you off because they can! more

Employs Drunk Drivers! 3/23/2012

After waiting for an hour on hold and two and a half hours for a cab, they sent us a car with a wasted drunk cabbie. We almost got into four accidents on the two mile drive and ended up on the wrong side of the road several times. Never use this cab company if you want to stay alive! You're better off driving your own car home. more

Incompetent Dishonest Scumbags 5/9/2011

Had the hotel call them to bring us to the airport, was told 15-20 minutes. After 30 minutes, the hotel receptionist called back, was told ""he's on the bridge"" (3 miles away)...25 minutes after that, no cab. Receptionist calls again. This time we get ""he's dropping someone off at the Holiday Inn."" 10 Minutes after that, we see the cab turn in from off the bridge, NOT from the Holiday Inn, which is right next door. Missed our flight, didn't even get an apology. So another night at a hotel downtown & ticket changes made this a $500 cab ride. Everyone in downtown Charleston we told this story to expressed absolutely no surprise. Yellow Cab is the worst business I've ever been exposed to, in any field. more

UNDEPENDABLE!!!! 4/24/2011

Do not depend on these incredibly unresponsive people. They put me on hold for 15 minutes, interrupted the hold music ever 6 seconds to tell me how important my call was and then kicked me out of the system. Do Not Call 4/21/2011

I am completely shocked that this cab company is still in business. I thought that this company was a franchise of the ""real"" Yellow Cab, but aparently not! Do Not Be Fooled By The NAME. This is NOT a Valid, Reliable Cab Company. I called this company at 7 AM to request a cab at 9 AM, going to the airport. 9 AM came and went - no cab, no call. At 9:05 I called them again. The person said ""are you calling about your cab"", I said ""yes"". She replied ""we are still looking for one for you"". WHAT! I said ""so you don't even have a cab for me yet?"" She said ""NO, but we are still trying"". I said ""Why didn't you call me to let me know that you didn't have a cab""? She said ""We don't do that, we just keep trying unless you call us to cancel"". I am going to the airport to catch a flight, what part of that don't they understand - when you call for a cab to the airport to catch a flight? Oh my, I guess I can just catch a cab WHEN IT""S AVAILABLE!! NO, I HAD A FLIGHT TO CATCH, I WASN'T GOING SHOPPING, OR TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE, I WAS GOING TO THE AIRPORT TO CATCH A FLIGHT - VERY TIME SENSITIVE. I just hung up on her at that point, I had to get to the airport - now! So I threw my luggage in my car and drove myself, with no time to spare. I parked my car in the garage (no extra time to park in the surface parking). Upon return I had to pay the huge parking fee - I was gone for only 4 days luckily. Funny thing (not really) a neighbor of mine called this same Yellow Cab for a flight she was taking just the next week, and they did the exact thing to her, said the exact things to her when she called when they did not show up. She also had to do the same thing as I, with the exception that she was gone for a WEEK, and had to pay much more than I to get her car out of hock at the airport. WHY IS THE COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS??? Bottom line, if you need to be somewhere on time, DO NOT CALL YELLOW CAB. Personally, I believe that the only ""positive"" posts about this company are from Friends, Family, or the Owners. Don't be FOOLED. I wish I had looked at these posts before I was fooled and taken. more

Wonderful Driver in Charleston, SC 2/14/2011

I was in Charleston,SC at MUSC and needed a cab to take my brother and me back to our hotel after his procedure. Not only was it a very short wait, considering the trafic, the female driver was very friendly and courterous. This was a very plesant experience and added calmness to my rather hetic day. Oh yes, the rates was past resonable. more

TERRIBLE: RUDE! AND NO SHOW!!! 1/25/2011

I scheduled a pickup for 6 in the morning for work the night before. The dispatcher was RUDE! I then called at 5:55AM to make sure a cab was on the way. This dispatcher was quite rude also! She said they were still working on getting me a cab. When I asked if she had an approximate time that a cab might be here, I was told that ""Nothing is guaranteed in life except death!"". Needless to say, a cab never showed, I had to use another cab in the area, and I was late for work. DO NOT USE YELLOW CAB. THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND SCHEDULING A RIDE MAY MEAN NOT GETTING A RIDE!!!! more

Don't waste your time depending on Yellow Cab in Charleston. I called 12 hours in advance to schedule a 6am cab to the airport. At 6:10, I called to find out where the cab was. The woman on the phone told me, ""I see that you called ahead to schedule a fare this morning, along with everyone else in the city. We're still working on finding you a cab."" Short story shorter, she couldn't tell me even IF I would get a cab, let alone when, so I had to drag my wife and baby out of bed to drive myself to the airport. Hey Yellow Cab, maybe you could at least call your customers instead of simply not showing up! If you feel like REALLY impressing people, suggest a competitor when you are genuinely swamped! You'll lose a fare you couldn't handle instead of losing a customer for life!! more

I have been using Yellow Cab for over 20-years to get me to the airport on time, I book them days in advance, and they are here when I need them to be here - the drivers have always been courteous and kind. I would highly reccommend them, as they are fantastic people. Pros: respectful and I can count on them more

MY CAR RECENTLY BROKE DOWN SO I DECIDED TO CALL AROUND FOR A CAB TO TAKE TO WORK. I READ ALL THE REVIEWS ON YELLOW CAB BUT DECIDED TO GIVE THEM MY FAIR OPINION. THE DISPATCHER WAS SO RUDE. SHE KEPT OVER TALKING ME AND EVEN HUNG UP ON ME. I WAS SO DISPLEASED WITH HER. I CALLED HER BACK AND SHE SUCKED HER TEETH OVER THE PHONE. I AM GOING TO REPORT HER BECAUSE I GAVE HER A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION WHEN I CALLED BACK BUT I DISLIKE RUDE PEOPLE. IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, THEN DON'T DO IT. IT'S PEOPLE LIKE HER THAT CREATE ALL THIS NEGATVITY IN THIS WORLD. I UNDERSTAND AS A PERSON THAT SHE MIGHT BE UNDER PERSONAL STRESS BUT I DID NOT CREATE A JUST REASON TO BE TREATED LIKE TRASH. Worst Customer Service EVER 5/2/2010

I have worked in the hospitality industry throughout college, first as a hostess and next as a concierge. So I have called cabs for customers MANY times. Although yellowcab is the cheapest, I would NEVER recommend them to a customer. Every time I call, the phone rings and rings. If someone does answer, they are completely rude. NO greeting upon answering, this is the conversation: ""Yellowcab, what number are you calling from? Who are we picking up? Ready now? CLICK"" I've had cabs leave several times if the customers weren't waiting at the curb. I've also had cabs be 30 minutes late, and cabs that just never showed. This company is run by rude idiots. We have had a business account with this company for close to 6 months. We are cancelling it due to repeated problems dealing with the staff at this company. The straw that broke the camel's back was today when they were supposed to give an employee a ride downtown. When she asked them to wait a minute for her to go in, drop something off, then return her to work the driver refused. He said she wasn't authorized for a return trip! He then forced her out of the cab and left her stranded in downtown Charleston! This is despite repeated efforts to clarify to their business office that our account covers whatever the employees request! When I complained to the dispatcher, she stated that the driver did the right thing and that if we wanted two trips we had to call for two cabs. So I requested another cab to go pick up my employee. They sent the same guy who had minutes before forced her out of the cab. These people are ridiculous. Cons: employees delight in arguing with customers more

I called for a cab and after an hour, still no show. I called back and was told the cab was dispatched. She said she would re-dispatch the cab to me again, waited another hour...still no show. Tried to call back again. Rang and rang with no answer. Ended up waiting 3 hours, with good faith. An overall no show. Do not recommend. Stay away. more

Utter Nightmare 3/6/2009

The cab was 45 mintues late so I missed my flight. I called every 5 minutes for that whole time and they kept saying he was on his way; then he was at the wrong building; then he'd be at the correct address in a couple minutes but 20 minutes later he showed up. He said they gave him the wrong address and only dispatched him minutes ago. The supervisors (operator and drivers) could care less and did nothing to help or compensate me. The driver apologized but he also changed his story (saying he made the mistake) right before I got out. Cons: Unreliable; Late; Dispatch and spvrs could-care-less more
