They cancel appointments at the expense of the customer. As I was pulling into the parking lot I got a call from the front desk telling me that they were cancelling my appointment. I got 3 different versions as to why they could not cut my hair. No manager on duty to explain, the stylist could not even come out & tell me because she was running late on another customer which was going to overlap on 2 of her appointments, that is why I got bumped. She did finish in time to happily greet the appointment that was scheduled after my cancelled hair cut. Thanks viziato for treating a 2 and half year customer like a walk-in. I would not recommend their services at all - go to a different spa this one doesn't know how to account for time. Cons: Appointments do not matter to them more

We were on a road trip and looking for a new experience. We definately found it in Boise! It was our first time to the town and it was so wonderful to be in a place where time slows down, people are much more kind, and things were easy. The best part by far was the wonderful staff at Viziato Salon & Spa. They were having a really great spa package special. I felt so relaxed after each one that I could have been satisfied on one treatment alone. Each staff member was very attentive, personable, and most importantly, they never made you feel like they were looking at the clock while performing services for you. Our two hours of spa services easily stretched into about a four hour spa trip. I have never felt so taken care of at a spa before. Overall it was such a great experience that not only will I reccommend it to everyone, but we have already begun planning a yearly trip to return. Thank you Viziato staff!!! From the moment I walked into their business, I was surprised. The decor was beautiful, the woman at the front was very nice, and the scent in the air was wonderfull. It did not smell like burnt/overprocessed hair as some of the hair salons smell. I was offered a bottle of water immediately. Nikki was my stylist and she did a wonderful job. The color she chose for me matched perfectly, she actually had quite a task to accomplish because I had a bunch of dark new growth hair. She did a marvolous job!! I have only wonderful things to say about Viziato. I know the owners to be outstanding individuals who have a passion for this business and who want to provide incredible service. With so many hair salons going out of business, they are working nonstop to make a difference in our industry. I own a salon in Nampa and have follow Viziato's growth and the sacrifice that the owners have made to keep it open. No salon deserves all the negativity that Viziato is getting. Its appalling that a few former employees are working so hard at destroying the reputation of such a nice salon. This weekend, more than 30 salon owners from all over Idaho and some from outside the State are visiting this amazing salon. They are coming to Viziato to observe and learn how a salon should be run. Obviously they are doing something right! And by the way, Nikki is an amazing stylist. In our profession few have the passion and knowledge that she does. Bad hair cut! Nikkie was my stylist and was a totally negative about her employer. I was depressed when I left. Salon felt uncomfortable and it was too expenisve. Save your money and go somewhere you will feel good about yourself when you leave. I called and complained, spoke to the owner. She was rude! I will not go back!!! Just wanted to let you know that I had such a wonderful experience at your salon. The atmosphere is like none other and the quality of my services was amazing. I had a massage first and she was so sweet and it happend to be the best massage I have ever had. My hair turned out amazing and its the best cut I have had for a while. The color was perfect I could not have asked for better. I thank you for bringing such an amazing salon to Boise. I will be back.... and will tell everyone. Thank you again. more

I think all these negative reviews are crazy. Do you people live in a box? There is no salon like this anywhere in Boise. You can certainly tell that the negative comments are from old employees. Too much information is shared that a client like me would not know. I have had wonderful experiences here. I will tell everyone I know to come to Viziato. You people who write this kind of stuff need to go work at or get your hair cut at mastercuts and great clips. Have too much time on your hands pretty sad. This salon rocks...... more

Where do I start ? First, the girls at the front. What are they ? The solid gold dancers ? They have the personality of a ROCK.. not even that. When I go there the girl with long dark hair at the front is always on her phone, or on the internet. I have seen her put someone on hold while she talks to another staff member about what they are going to do that night. I was there and there is some loud and annoying girl who claims to be their creative director, what was creative I have NO idea. She talked about herself and how bad this economy is doing for the whole time I was there. The staff is either talking about how bad their personal life is or about each other. I overheard a few of them talking about how their paychecks are no good, so they have to find somewhere to cash them. What a sad thing to hear. Makes me want to tell all my friends to use their gift certificates soon. The only thing positive is they have a few good massage therapists. I will tell everyone I talk to, to go somewhere different. They can get a much better service from a different place other than here. I have tried to call and personally talk to the owner who for some reason can never be reached. Seems to me he could care less about his so called guests. So, please do yourself a favor and go somewhere that is professional. Great Clips or Hairmasters is a better deal. more

The other day I was searching on the internet for this spa because I couldn't remember how it was spelled. My friend and I were talking about spas and I wanted to show my friend the pictures of the spa because I was so impressed when I was there a couple months ago. I found Viziato on this site and decided to take a look at the reviews to see if other people loved it as much as I did. I was shocked by the negative comments listed in the review section. I was so bothered by the negative comments and after thinking about it for a couple of days I decided I needed to leave my comments which I don't usually do. A couple months ago I was planning to be in Boise on a business trip and wanted to see if I could spend some time in a spa so I asked the hotel concierge if they knew of any above average Spas in the area. Without hesitation, she said Viziato. She gave the number and I called to line up some appointments. I was very anxious once I arrived and wondered if maybe there had been a mistake by my hotel concierge. The location was fine but from the outside it looked like it was just an average place in a strip mall. I went in anyway because I had seen their internet web site and it appeared to be beautiful. Once inside I was blown away by the smells and beauty. The rest of the day was just as I had hoped it would be. I was even greeted by the owner as I was leaving who thanked me for coming and offered me a bottle of water to take with me. I was very impressed with the staff and the services. I loved the place and wish we had this spa in my own home town although, that might cost me a lot of money. As the owner of Viziato, I would like to make a comment regarding the negative remarks left on this web site but before I do, I wish to thank those that support our business especially during these troubling economic times. We do appreciate every penny that you pull from our wallet to put towards our cause of business success. I know that the Hair industry is a difficult industry to be envolved in. Throughout the nation, very few Salons and Spas actually do succeed. A recent study states that 15% break even and only 5% make profits. That leaves a failure rate of 80%. The failure rate of individual technicians in the hair industry is even much higher. From the beginning of opening this business, we had hoped to be able to turn that number around and start seeing more success of the individual technician as well as provide a more positive experience for our guests. During the process, we have had some bumps in the road. Some of the negative experiences that people have had are a result of less than professional technicians not fulfilling our company objective. Consequently, we have had to continue our search for those individuals that want to be great in their field. Because of that, we have ruffled some feathers and we are quite certain that some of those negative comments listed on the web are a result of that ended relationship. While we do have a heart and hate to see this happen to anyone, we are most concerned with our outside guest first and foremost. Without you, we wouldn't need to be here. We will continue as we have and hopefully, as the years go by, we will begin to have longer term postive staff. That is our goal. As a company in it's fifth year of operation, we hope you will continue to support our effort to do better than the average and to perform at the best of your expectations. At a recent visit to my favorite hangout, Viziato Salon and Spa, I was visiting with one of the technicians about how Viziato was doing during this tough economic period. During the conversation she mentioned that Viziatio had recently had some negative comments posted on this web site and thought maybe it might be past employees trying to do harm. When I got home I looked it up and was appalled by the remarks. I have to tell you that based on what I was reading in the review section of Viziato, it almost appears to be Jekyll and Hyde. How can one person rate it 5 Star and another one mark it 1 star? I decided that I needed to support this local business, which in my opinion is going way above and beyond the norm of what a Salon and Spa normally does, at least in this area. I have been to spas all over the world and in my opinion Viziato is right up there among the best of them. Obviously, they are not a Bellagio Hotel Spa with unlimited funds, but for what they are and what they do; I think they do a fantastic job. I am amazed that people take the time to post these kinds of remarks just to hurt a business, but as a former business owner myself I know that it is very difficult to please everyone 100% of the time. My experience with Viziato however has proven to be a good one. I have also met the owner of the Spa and I don't know what this negative remark person is talking about. He seems to be very concerned about the professionalism of his business and works hard to insure that his customers are well taken care of. I have even received a couple hand written thank you notes from him. Try that out at your normal place of business. For me,,Double Thumbs Up for Viziato. I highly recommend it. Today I visited Viziato for the first time. My gosh what a breath of fresh air. I recently moved here and have been to all the salons in the valley. This salon is amazing and I had such a great experience. I got my haircut and a color. They gave me a drink. I recieved a complimentary hand treatment. My hair looks amazing and I am very picky. I them got my waxing services done by an esthetician who was great. I just wanted to thank you for such a great day. I will tell everyone about your salon and will be coming back forever. I loved walking through the doors of this spa and feeling like I had stepped into another world! With todays economy it is great to be able to get away in your own backyard! The staff is amazing and they were very helpful and provided a lot of extra touches you don't get at the average spa. From the cucumber water to the mints to the great spa smells, I found myself relaxing from the time I stepped in to the moment I had to leave. I wanted to spend the whole day there. My husband and I will be going back soon for a couples massage. I can't wait to take him, maybe I will even be able to talk him into a pedicure. Thanks for providing a great experience! I hate this place, the little garden gnome of an owner stares at all the females breasts, whether they are clients or their staff. They seem to have a huge turnover rate, every time I've gone in to get my hair done, the girl or guy I've gotten used to doesn't work there anymore and they won't tell me where they have gone, and will bad mouth that stylist until they are blue in the face. I agree with the other post, the cinnamon spray makes me want to gag, the old hostess smells like B.O. The last time I went in they were doing some kind of construction in the front area and it was hard to relax with that kind of commotion going on and the crappy music that they play made it an even worse experience. If you go to Viziato, you will get the best pedicure and massage anywhere and the atmosphere is WONDERFUL! John has got to be one of the best massage therapists in the country. I have had many massages in the past and he is by far the most attentive and thoughtful that there is. His technique is fantastic and he was able to not only find the rough spots without me telling him, he was also able to work them all out. Amazing! As for pedicures, they have a number of great technicians there and their pedicure areas are great. They really take the time to go the extra mile! pros: The inside of the salon and spa is beautiful, mostly all of the employees are very warm and kind. They offered me a drink, and I received a nice neck warmer while I waited. I liked seeing that some of the hair stylists really had their own unique style, in hindsight I regret not requesting to be with one with a little more personality. Although I just got a fairly quick trim, I would have liked a little to see more confidence and personality in my stylist and maybe had a conversation. She didn't talk to me at all. cons: When I first walked in, people were moving shelves in the hall on the way to the salon area, it looked unprofessional to be doing that during buisness hours and was a bit awkward to squeeze by them. I could hear shouting of inappropriate language and immature laughter on the other side of the wall in the shampoo room, although it didnt personally offend me, I was concerned it might offend others if there were elderly people or kids around. The place smells very strongly of cinnamon, which some people may enjoy. For me it was too much, I could seriously hear somebody spraying it in excess. The music started to annoy me, once in awhile I would like a song, but the majority sounds like it belongs in the Olive Garden. I am used to hearing edgy music that is fun and up to date in high end salons. I felt harassed by oldies. It didn't look like anyone enjoyed it, including the stylists! My sister and I went to Viziato for pedicures. My nail tech was so shakey from partying the night before and my sisters nail tech painted all over her toes instead of just the nail. They both lacked any personality, watched the clock the whole time and started scouring the foot bathes before we even got up or our nails were dry. Yikes! Bad service and a waste of $92 ( I made the mistake of tipping them). The salon itself is nice inside but that means nothing if the service is bad. I would NEVER go back there. Beautiful salon inside. It's located in a strip mall. Mixed reviews on this place. Massage was fantastic, very detail oriented. Spa water was almost emply and ice was melted. Appeared that since it was the end of the day, no one refilled. The pedicure was the worst I've recieved. This is advertised as a high end salon, prices reflect that but in many areas its lacking. This is my favorite place!! If i could I would spend every day here. I felt like a queen from the minute I walked in the door, all the way to the end. They even walked me to my car with an unbrella due to the rain. The massage was perfect and the pedicure is divine. There pedicure is an hour long and came with a bottle of OPI nail polish. Everybody was polite, professional and I felt like I was in a small retreat. I actually forgot some of my worries. I bought a gift certificate for my mom, so she can enjoy this wonderful experience and I hope you try it also. Pros: so relaxing!!! Cons: n/a more
