Every once in there's a pet like those exceptional human beings that become your best friends. I was heartbroken when my cat Koshka lost weight steadily, developed diarrhea, and his vet had been unable to diagnose him. The vet suggested an endoscopy; this was 1 of 2 places he recommended. Dr. Gokhale, a very caring vet, took his history, examined him, & suggested an ultrasound, which might find masses in areas not covered by the endoscopy. We did this and found masses & inflammation. We thoroughly discussed all options (Dr.. Gokhale was excellent at explaining everything and applied no pressure for any option) and decided on an operation, which would give Koshka his best chance at survival, combining treatment & diagnosis. The operation was a risk, involving his pancreas, liver, & colon, and Koshka was 15.
