MS. J. P. 10/20/2010

Veterinary care for my animals was excellent at the VSC, but I found their business practices poor, bordering on unethical. After my dog received excellent energency care. I paid a bill of over $2700. Unknown to me, the vet had failed to charge me $100 for a final test for my dog that was conducted on the day of discharge. Three months later, I received a call from a collection agency. The collection agency rep called me a"deadbeat", screamed at me and threatened me if I did not immediately pay the bill. I called the VSC immediately, but no one would answer my phone calls or explain why I owed them money. After two weeks, I finally got through to the VSC bookeeper. Although I didn't know anything about the test, I paid the bill immediately. However, I still continued to receive harrassing phone calls from the collection agency who also reported me to a credit agency. I contacted the Better Business Bureau, but even the BBB ciould not get a response from the VSC. Be careful of doing b more

Saved my GrisGris life.... 4/28/2010

The moment we walked in the door they took GrisGris and began treatment immediately. She has a rare auto immune disorder called Thrombocytopenia and could have bled out at any time. The doctors were kind and through, and explained every thing step by step. The nurses and vet techs made sure she got her meds and food on time. I was able to visit her every day. She was never, ever afraid, because she got so much love. It took a week but she steadily got her platelet count back up out of the danger zone. They were not over priced, actually very reasonable, and never once hounded us for money for the bill. There is no where else I would go if any of my three dogs every needed specialized care. The reception staff were incredibly kind, even finding our insurance forms on line and printing them out. They all went the extra mile for my puppy. Pros: Incredible knowledgeable staff, Round the clock care, more

Highly skilled & professional 2/26/2010

Drs. Peck & Edwards are superior to most other Vets in small clinics in surrounding areas. At times, it takes a lot of money to pay for highly skilled medical services, esp. during emergencies. more

ONLY GO IN CASE OF EMERGENCY 12/26/2009

i'M GOING TO KEEP THIS SIMPLE , SHORT AND CONCISE. ON A 1-10 RATING. I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON MY DOG THAT DIED OF ANEMIA. SHE WOULD HAVE DIED ANYWAY, BUT, I WON'T GO INTO DETAILS CAUSE ENOUGH HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN FROM OTHER REVIEWERS. 1) ABLITY AND KNOLEDGE /SKILL OF DOCTORS 9 OF 10 2) ETHICS OF OVERCHARGING AND UNNEEDED PROCEDURES AND TESTS/MEDECINES 2 OF 10. 3)BOTTOM LINE IS THIS PLACE HAS GREAT DOCTORS, BUT THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY, THEY CAN HELP IN A EMERGENCY BUT DON'T LET THAT OVERULE YOUR BETTER JUDGMENT.(UNLESS YOU ARE RICH) YES I WOULD GO BACK IF EMERGENCY, NO I WOULDN 'T IF I HAVE TIME AND IT'S NOT LIFE THREATNING, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE CHARGED MANY MANY UNNECESSARY CHARGES, EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW PET SHOULD BE EUTHANIZED, AND THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR WALLET BASED ON YOUR EMOTIONS. more

Worst Vet Experience - Cold-hearted Moneygrubbers 7/20/2009

One of the worst vet experiences!!!! Bar none!! I took my companion animal of 20 years to them when she had a violent episode of pain after which she no longer had use of her hind legs. They kept her overnight and I had to pay over $1300 low estimate. Tests showed she probably had malignant tumors some of which appeared on her lower spine but they wanted to do much more expensive testing. They implied this was cancer and said a neurologist had examined her but I never got to see or talk to the so-called neurologist and my final bill never mentioned the neurologist's name although I was charged for this. My pet was not a good surgical risk and she was in so much pain, I decided the only thing to do was have her euthanized. I told them that I was going to pick her up and take her to my regular vet to be euthanized in more familiar surroundings for her. When I got to VCA, I was told I still owed over $100. I wrote a check out from the same account that I wrote the check the previo more

A complete joke! 6/11/2009

This place is a ripoff. Run away from them as soon as possible. They overcharge for everything, and explain nothing. They were insistant my dog had liver cancer, not even close. They wanted to do a liver biopsy, I insisted they not touch my dogs liver. They accused me of not loving my dog enough to want the best for him. Give me a break, these people should be run out of town. My only regret was not looking at citysearch reviews first. I would have saved thousands! Pros: NONE! Cons: Everything more

Hats off 4/15/2009

I have had an opportunity to tour this facility and was thoroughly impressed. The equipment, staffing levels and attention to details are world class. This is a well run business, but more importantly it is full of people who truly care about their patients. In the health care profession there are many unsung heroes and I would like to take a moment to recognize this hospital and the people who make it a truly safe place to take your loved ones. more

to all you nervous owners 12/29/2008

First of all, I would like to counter a review on Dr. David Snyder, and ask a question...Do you have your regular doctor rub your belly and give you treats? If you needed a knee repair, would you be a little bit bothered if your orthopedic specialist baby talked you? I worked with Dr. Snyder and having worked for many surgeons in my time, Dr. Snyder is the most brilliant and precise surgeon I have ever known. I am going to have surgery on my knee soon and I wish I could have Dr. Snyder do it. All of these reviews are bad mouthing the least important aspect of veterinary medicine (ie the receptionists, are you kidding me?) Receptionists get paid crappy, and dont touch your animals, and are usually infuriating to the entire hospital. Money? What people dont understand is that...1)vets dont make a lot of it because it allllllll goes back to keeping a practice open 2)pet insurance is sooooooo cheap 3)the people who care about your animals and work with them, they dont see that money either more
