I live in beautiful Bellingham, WA. On of the top 10 places for dogs. My vet in Bellingham is wonderful, caring, compassionate, she always has an extra treat in her pocket for good behavior! When Otis needed TPLO surgery, we were referred to Dr. David Snyder at VCA Veterinary Specialty Center.\r \r Dr. Snyder was all business. No pat on the head, no affection or treats for Otis. I got the feeling that he doesn't even like animals. He flipped Otis on to his side, held him down and started popping Otis's knee to confirm the acl tear. Otis is a big yellow lab that is trained to play dead. Dr. Snyder would not allow me to have my dog play dead to get him on his side, instead he just manhandled my dog. It was horrifying! \r \r Then he left his assistant to give us our surgery quote. The quote was $3500 - $4500. My issue is not with the amount, but with the fact that the quote varied by $1000! Don't they know how much it is going to cost after examining Otis?!? The assitant finally admitted to m
