THE WORD WORST WOULD NOT BEGIN TO TELL THE HORROR ! I DON'T HAVE TO EVER RETURN TO THE VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF VAN NUYS INC., BECAUSE THEY KILLED MY BEAUTIFUL & INTELLIGENT k-9 FAMILY MEMBER AND SO AS TO COVER IT UP, THEY SENT HIS BODY TO THE CREMATORIUM AND ALL IN ONE DAY. THEY WILL KILL YOUR PET BY THEIR NEGLECT AND INCOMPETANCE AND LINDA WILL LIE TO YOUR face AS WELL, AS GEORGE WHO SAID "" OH WE COULD'T FIND YOUR NUMBER TO CALL YOU TO TELL YOU. THEN, LINDA SAYS, "" oh your dog was old anyway"" MY DANNY WAS 9 yrs and was not suffering from anything that would have ended his life. They mistakenly killed him . Then realizing it said to ME ' OH HE JUST DIED , S O R R Y!!!\r BY THE WAY DOCTOR JAMES H HUEBERT LICENSE WAS REVOLKED IN 2003 and ALSO,CURRENTLY THE BUSINESS LICENSE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED AS PER THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND ALL THE WHILE THEY CONTINUE TO OPERATE . those monsters they continue to take in unsuspecting clients only to hurt those animals ,CHARGE FEES OUT OF THIS WORLD AND THEN IF YOUR PET ""DIES..."" ""OH WELL S O R R Y !!! more

This is the best hospital to take your pets for treatment. The doctors are very patient, kind and loving to the animals.\r more

I enjoyed my experience at this pet clinic. I brought my two kittens in, and there were a myriad of animals with us in the waiting room, including two pigs! The front office staff was very friendly and were nice to my kittens. Wait times were short. The vet himself was, a bit quirky - but in a good way! He gave a lot of useful information in a short amount of time, was friendly, and sent me and my kittens on our way with minimal damage to my wallet. I will definitely be back.\r more

The doctors at VAH has cared for all my 4 doggies, They have the knowledge and experience to give an accurate and understandable diagnosis. I strayed and took one of my dogs to another vet a couple of weeks ago and they wanted to do a bunch of tests and really charged a lot- the Doctors give real options and try to keep costs down- Another thing that totally impressed me is that I was supposed to call the next morning for my dogs blood test results BUT instead I got the follow up call from his staff and really felt that they cared and listened to my updates on how she was doing! Their hours are great and prices are very very reasonable.\r more

Great experiences. I liked the place, the people, and the cute pets that were there. The desk ladies were nice, it smelled clean, and the doctors we've seen were real nice too. One talks a lot more, but they are nice. We will stay put, we are more than happy…\r more

Go Somewhere else !!! 2/4/2012

I took my dog in for an ear infection and fever during emergency house. Jorge informed us our dog had fox tails in both of his ears and needed surgery tonight to remover them due to high fever of almost 105. So we left our pup there overnight for the surgery and told we could pick him up tomorrow and that they would call me with updates. Well needless to say they didn't do the surgery that night but instead in the morning and I did not receive updates. He had to stay one more day !! Well 2 weeks later after all meds were finished, our pup started acting weird again, so of coarse I took him back.......They said his temp was 105 but wouldn't let me see the results for myself, and he needed to stay overnight again !!! Ok....... So the next morning I get a call from the vet tech Jorge stating that MY PUP'S fever has not gone down and blood tests reveal his major organs are all shutting down and he is might die !!!! Then 30 minutes later I get a call stating MY pup is doing perfect, fever gone and that I could pick him up right now !!!??? Confusing right, well I had to explain to them the phone call I just received 30 min prior !! Apparently there was a mix up and my dog was actually OK .....and they called me by mistake !!! Not one APOLOGY from them !!! Needless to say I found another vet to take my pup from now on !!!! more

Please consider a second opinion! 1/3/2012

I took my dog, Sandy, into Valley Animal Hospital because she had not been using her right hind leg for several days. I was informed that she needed an x-ray and to return the next day because sedation would be required in order to perform the x-ray (x-ray $140.00 + sedation $65.00 + office visit $40.00 + anti-inflammatory injection $38.00 + prescription $19.00). I did return for the x-ray and was asked to drop my dog off. I requested to see the kennel where she would have to stay and with great reluctance I was shown a drafty cage where she would stay. I noticed dirty rags in a corner and there were several dogs that were scared and barking. They were separated by a door; however the window to the door was broken. It did not smell clean either (I should have left then and there). When I returned to pick my dog up at 4:10 PM I was informed that my dog had a ruptured ACL in her knee that would require surgery. The doctor explained there are two procedures that can be used, and quickly described them. When I inquired as to the price of these procedures he left the room. I thought he would be returning, but he never did. I noticed the time was after 5:00. Finally someone came and said the price would be $1950.00 or $3500.00 depending upon the procedure used. I asked for a written estimate. After another long wait I walked out to the desk to find out what the status was. The manager was eating something at the desk. When he finished eating he began to work on my estimate. it was 5:30. After he gave me the estimate, and charged me for the days visit, he said he would get my dog. I waited another 20 minutes and had finally had enough. By the time I finally got my dog it was 5:50. The next day I wanted to check with other vets regarding this surgery and pricing. Thank goodness I did! I found Dr. Pitt at Mid Valley Animal Hospital in Reseda. He did a simple ortho exam (no x-ray, no sedation) to confirm the diagnosis, and recommended the TPOL surgery ($3500.00 at Valley) The price he quoted was about $1000.00 less expensive and included any follow up x-rays and exams! The hospital is clean and the staff is attentive and caring. Valley Animal Hospital is a RIP-OFF! The staff are rude and arrogant. I find it very unprofessional to be eating at the desk too! My dog, Sandy had her surgery and is recovering well! I am sorry my dog had to go through all of this, but thankful I DID NOT USE Valley Animal Hospital!!!!! more

my pug of 14 years 9/28/2011

Never saw the doctor only so called medical tech. whom informed me the doctor would preform the operation and he picks the dogs in his order. buster needed a screw to reattach the leg to the hip.i went the next morning before hospital opened hoping for the best. later the doctor called around 4:30 pm informing me buster set all day in a cage pissing on himself saying the dog was in great pain and should be put down. he was 14 yrears old and in need of care that same morning.. not sure but in sounds more of a bussines to make money from pet owners by not having a doctor on premises when needed. if u value your pet take them to a doctor owned clinic. more

The BEST! 7/27/2011

They are the friendliest people i have met. They love dogs and love their job. Johnny and Tyler have helped me out of situations when i thought i had no other choice. They watch my dog when i am away, walk my dog every day, and have actually become friends through the process. They are wonderful! And anyone would be lucky to have their pet taken care of by them. more

Avoid! Worst vet in the valley 6/10/2011

The dump always has a bad smell. Long waits. I hear horror stories about the vet office. The vet and staff just don't care. Last time I stopped by this vets office a hooker approached me in the parking lot. Nobody I know has anything positive to say about this facility. Just my opinion. more

WILL NEVER COME BACK, AND RECC YOU TO DO THE SAME 3/8/2011

I came during emeregency hours, and had to wait for the ""technician"" to grab his sandwich to come back. No one was at the front desk, and this is 5PM!!! Not even late. I was then still charged the emer. fee, and told that if i hadnt brought him in, my dog would have been hysterically sick. (This IS NOT WHAT YOU SAY TO A DOG OWNER TO CALM THEM DOWN) After being charged $400 in blood tests, fluids, and an overnight stay, I took my dog home to find another tick. (when I had brought him in for infection from a tick) When I went in, the MANAGER, JORGE C. greeted me with, ""oh yeh thats the dogh with Lyme disease."" Then the ""doctor"" comes in after making me wait for 20 mins., and doesnt even know if the injection they gave him will help with lyme. Needless to say, I got a copy of his records and was out of there, RUNNING to another doctor. more

Held Dead Cat for Ransom 3/5/2011

Please don't take your animals here, they actually held my dead cat for ransom in their freezer because I couldn't pay the entire 2500 bill at once.\r Before my cat died when i checked on him they left him saturerated in his own urine, then charged me for unnessesary unclean proceedures. I'm too upset to even write about it all, please just don't bring your animals here. The staff, was belittling, hostal, and unhelpful as well. \r I really wish someone would investagate this hospital. more

Will never return to this animal clinic 3/4/2011

I am rating this facility one star, only because a rating is required (I tried zero). I will never return to Valley Animal Hospital, ever. What used to be an average clinic has become all about money with seemingly no regard for the pets or their owners. A month after having my ill cat treated at this facility, I called to find out the fee for euthanizing him. The girl at the front desk told me it would be $100 for a drop and $160 if I wanted to stay with my cat. Who does that to a person or an animal?\r \r I called a veterinary group in Sherman Oaks the following day, Saturday, at 8:30 a.m., was seen at 9:30 a.m., held my cat in my arms until the end, and there was no charge whatsoever. Not only was the doctor and staff extremely compassionate, but I received a sympathy card two days later, with a message from the doctor and four of the staff members. They didn’t know me or my cat. Well, they will get to know my three dogs and remaining two cats, and it is comforting to know that my pets will be treated by people who care. \r more

It has it's pros and cons 2/24/2011

Been coming to this vet since I moved to the valley a few years ago. Out of maybe 10 visits (I have two cats), maybe once it's been negative. I like Dr David and I only come there because he really cares for the animals. I don't really bother with the other vets there, unless Dr. David isn't in for the day and I can't reschedule. I do agree with the people here who mentioned the people at the front desk. Chatty cathy's, the lot of them, the only one who seems to have any common sense is George. They need to really stop chattering in Spanish in front of the customers, it comes across as really rude to someone who is not a Spanish speaking person. No offense, but this is customer service and this is still the USA, so speak English, thank you. Check in (always have an appointment) is okay, but paying the bill, that's when the waiting game begins. Usually they are good about bringing the animals out after their fees have been paid, but from time to time there is a mix-up. I did have a negative mix up incident happen once after paying the bill (I almost did not come back because of this incident). Sat there for 20-30 minutes waiting for them to bring out my cat while front desk dealing with other customers. I waited another 10 minutes and I approached the desk and asked for my cat. They asked me what the cat looked like, then I was told they didn't have a cat that matched that description in the back. I do have to say I was stunned. Finally after about 15 minutes of fooling around, they brought her out. The sight of my elderly cat being carried with two hands under each of her front legs and no support to her back legs which were dangling down (the tech carried her in like she was a sack of grain) made me so angry I scooped her up and vamoosed out of there. Didn't come back for six months and I only did that was because my other cat became very ill and I took her there for Dr David to have a look at her. Once Dr David leaves VAH for good I will be looking for another vet clinic and a vet that's closer to my home. It''s a very, very busy place, small waiting room, clinical, no frill looking place. It's considered a low cost vet, so if you want fancy Beverly Hills plush for your pet, this isn't the place for you. Saturdays are very, very busy, so steer clear of Saturday unless you want to sit on a bench for ages. Weekdays aren't so bad, and neither are Sundays. Pros: Dr David, care for the pets. Cons: the front desk staff, organization. more

I took my 10 year old rottweiler to this facility because he wasn't feeling good. They keep the dog for 3 night and 4days and start antibiotic right away more

love this place 1/4/2011

Very good & friendly i love this place. more

they care 12/3/2010

I always go there no problems so far! All of you people who are complaining are cheap, you say you love your animals so much but don't want to pay for their well being. Of course, if the animal is very sick not even if you take them to best hospital they are not going to be able to save them. Just remember that when you die your family still will have to pay for your hospital even if you pass away because the service was done. more
