Going Postal 1/15/2011

Every time I go to this post office someone is at the counter complaining about not having received mail or having received a notice that there is a package at the post office and the package isn't there. The attitude of the people behind the counter is such that you wonder how you ever get any mail at all. Their lack of concern must trickle down to the mail carriers, as so much mail goes missing you have to wonder if the carrier isn't just throwing it away. It's as if the Lakeway postal employees have a grudge against the people they're supposed to be serving. more

good example of our government's money at work 1/25/2010

How can something as important as a certified letter be misplaced by the post office. I know they deal with thousands of letters a day (that's their job, right?) but their lack of customer service or compassion is unbelievable. I received a notice in the mail that I have a certified letter. I haven't a clue what its about. Since I work the same hours that the post office is open I signed the card for it to be left in the mailbox the next day. Five days passed without it coming in the mail so I went on a Saturday to get it. I was informed that it was delivered and I just didn't realize I had gotten it!!! She also let me know that it will be my problem not theirs if the letter contained timed materials. She said ""unfortunately that'll be your problem"". They have the dang letter somewhere.......not me!! Very condescending. RUDE! Pros: friendly men at the counter Cons: lost mail!!!!! more

Here's alot of your problem 6/26/2009

If they would test ALL of their employees illegal narcotics you all would probably have a better postal service than you do. This means you might actually get your mail on time, in the right box, and get someone to answer your phone calls, not to mention putting your children in harms way while their out delivering your mail to you, driving in your neighborhood. And seeing as management is not doing their job looks like it'll be really hard to get anyone to actually do anything about this problem, not to mention all the others your having. Cons: illegal narcotics and employees more

Absolutely the POOREST excuse for a post office EVER! 10/4/2008

When I moved out of my house in Lakeway, I put in a change of address card to have my mail forwarded. Since I did get some of it, I thought all was well. WELL, much to my dismay, I found out about 6 months later, that they had NOT forwarded the final bill for my water service. Lakeway MUD then turned me into a collections agency, whom I ALSO did not receive ANY mail from. Of course, I got a ding on my credit, just as I'm trying to get a loan to build a house!!!! I also found the staff, including the postmaster, to be RUDE, SLOW and CONDESCENDING, as if they were doing the customers a favor by even acknowledging them!\r Truly a shame that they are allowed to continue in this manner. What can be done? Cons: Bad Service, Long lines, unreliable, rude more

WORST post office EVER! 3/10/2008

I wish I could give it negative stars- Since moving to Lakeway almost a year ago we've had NOTHING but problems with this post office. They are slow and rude, they don't have the answers to anything, they ""loose"" your mail without a second thought, they deliver the wrong mail all the time, they don't deliver large mailings (they end up in the dumpster out back- just to warn you), and the most recent one- those ridiculous RULES notices given out where your mailbox needs to be placed. GIVE ME A BREAK- our box is right on the street- and so are all our neighbors boxes. This post office needs to spend more time on customer service and proper mail care before they give their customers a hard time on where their mail box is placed all because their mail carriers don't have REAL Mail trucks. So frustrating. \r I agree, get a PO Box elsewhere if you live in Lakeway. Pros: NONE- they are awful. Cons: SLOW, RUDE, Don't know anything about their own post office, FRUSTRATING more

Nobody Picks Up the Phone! 3/4/2008

I was under the impression that federal services like post offices' lines are supposed to be open during their hours at least. I have called the post office at the listed phone number numerous times at sensible times such as 5:00 PM, which is regular business hours. All those times, the phone simply keeps on ringing and nobody picks up. I was calling about a delayed package that I needed, and I am very frustrated with their communication lines. Cons: nobody picks up the phone! more

Non-existent customer service! 2/28/2008

I was under the impression that if I had numerous pieces of mail (like a promotional direct mailer) that I could take the pieces to the post office and they would meter and mail all of the pieces. I took 220 pieces of mail to the lakeway post office and was told that their meter was slow and that the rep could not stamp them himself, that he could sell me the stamps and I would have to stamp them. That's NOTcustomer service. Later, I received 37 pieces of this same mailer back undeliverable because I did a label ""mail merge"" by instructions from a wedding magazine and that merge left off the apartment numbers. I called to explain what happened and asked if I added the apt numbers if they could re-send with no further cost and was RUDELY told that it was my fault and that the post office had fulfilled it's ""end of the bargain"". Again, that's NOT customer service. They could have sympathized and suggested an alternate course of action even if they weren't going to allow me to re-send.\r \r Go to a different post office!! more

My mailman chooses when he delivers! 11/29/2007

I know the post office is weak in Lakeway(software will not let me type how I really feel), but what about just getting your mail at all? The mailman that delivers around Duck Lake and Squires Blvd. is the worst. I have started to document missed mail dates along with my neighbors. He just doesn't come at all. If you question him, he gets mad and makes up some excuse like, ""The trash can was blocking the mailbox."" But that does not explain why the other 3 houses got no mail either. Every week there is at least 1 day where he does not come, sometimes 2. Then he will come at 7:00pm the next day. Sure enough, there will be 2 piles of mail, post marked on different days. He just skips a day and then thinks bringing two days worth is just as good. There is no way that 4 houses on the same street just happen to have no mail, every week, always together on the same day. Especially during holiday shopping season where junk mail and catalogs are flooding the system!! Finding my packages on the ground or pictures squashed in the mailbox is another topic for another day. All of this has been going on for at least 2 1/2 years. How do you stop it? Cons: Thumbs down more

Pathetic Service!!! 10/10/2007

I have lived in this area for YEARS and watched it grow like crazy! I thought for sure when we actually got a post office out here things would change, they did FOR THE WORSE!! HOW do you confuse addresses that aren't even close to being the same. I have not recieved mail for years and have actually had to make the post office write a letter to the water company letting them know that I had been complaining about them not delivering my mail. I have had someone 3 streets over from me show up at my house on a Saturday morning with my electric bill in hand not everyone is nice enough to bring it to me. THIS is RIDICULOUS!!! more

Postal Service? Not Here!!!! 8/18/2007

I have lived all over the world and utililized the postal services in all the cities. This post office is the ABSOLUTE worst!\r 1. The staff is rude and slow. The art of being slow, seems to be enjoyed by these people. They will stop and ""chat"" with each other when the line to the windows is almost to the door.\r 2. The machines are broken, out of service or out of stock at LEAST once a week.\r 3. The package drop is frequently too full or ""stuck.""\r The only thing I see about this post office that is a PLUS, is the guy that cleans it every morning. He does a great job and is very courteous! more
