So far so good. I rate it on how my animal is treated. And so far he has been treated well. I don't feel the docs try to ""push"" extra needless services, as they do at Pets Unlimited. more

The Doctors are great! I've been lucky to have seen five of them, and they've all been GREAT. Dr. Kim was my first and I kept thinking, man, she is so nice, patient, and really takes the time to explain, answer questions and genuinely cares about my dog. My little 2-3 pound dog needed to get her teeth cleaned... big job! We were afraid she may not make it, but Dr. Kim said she'd do her best and the dog should make it. Her confidence and reassurance was comforting and I trusted her. Then another time, I had Dr. Petrucci for a quick check up.. She was nice. And then I had Dr. Wolfe. I think she's my favorite. After taking my dog out back to do some test or procedure, she brought her back. The dog was a little shaken with all the poking and stuff. I asked how the dog did, and she said, oh, she's great and kissed her forehead. I have never seen a doctor do that! It was just so genuine and warm. It was so nice. I also had Dr. Fitchenburg... I can't pronounce his name so I just call him Dr. Nate. He did a great job stitching up my dog's eye. And lastly, I just met Dr. Wagner... I think she is new. She is awesome, too. I think I told each Doctor, you know, I come all the way from Daly City because you guys are so great. It's true. They are great. And make sure you sign up for the insurance program, it is a good deal. It has all ready paid for it's self many times. more

15 minutes later..I walked out with a brand new diet regimen, some antibiotics, tooth paste, dental chew, one year health insurance...and a $400 dent in my Visa. Guess I won't be getting a new dress this week...but then again..Nacho's well being?? Priceless. more

The doctors at Marina Pet are fantastic, particularly because they're very good at what they do and very kind. They ALWAYS let me go in back and hold my dogs when tests are being performed. I don't want to leave my dogs any more than I'd want to leave my child, and they realize and accommodate that. They take care of problems as soon as they can. They don't tell anyone ""We're booked, you can't come in until tomorrow."" They appreciate an emergency.\r \r The technical staff is WONDERFUL, compassionate and caring, and more than willing to work with owners like me, who simply refuse to leave their babies. I've learned how to hold and calm the dogs while blood is being drawn, tests are being administered, and treatment is performed. I have stayed with my animals until they're sedated, and the doctor always brings them out after a surgical procedure, wrapped in blankets, for me to hold as they recover from the anesthesia. Employees always stay while my pet recovers, and they call a cab for me when they're sure everything is OK.\r \r On the other hand, when the dogs went crazy after being boarded at some hideous kennel (our first and last time at boarding), Marina Pet came to the rescue with an INCREDIBLE trainer, Carl Wolfram, who literally saved us (and the dogs) from complete insanity. Thanks to Dr. Melcon and Dr. Petrucci for their life-saving help. Dr. Kim is fantastic too; she can identify the weirdest disorders (like backwards sneezing) in a second and reassure you that it's just normal.\r \r They treat my dogs gently, and most of the staff at Marina Pet treats ME gently, too. That's as good as I could wish for, and I'd never think of taking my pups somewhere else.\r \r I have seen these vets cry when euthanizing animals whose owners simply don't care. They cry when euthanizing ANY animal. I have seen them take in unwanted pets that people drop on their doorstep. The vets have helped animals and their owners so much in so many different ways!\r \r The hospital has a pretty good insurance plan, which helps with treatment costs. The clientele seems to love them, and I know we do, too. more

I've had excellent experiences at the Marina Pet Hospital, and am a huge fan of Dr. Wolf. \r She correctly diagnosed an eye problem my cat had, which 2 other pet hospitals in San Francisco did not manage to do... but in addition to that, I am always impressed with her caring and follow-up. \r I literally wish I got the same sort of follow-up from MY doctors, as I get from Dr. Wolf for my cats. more

I really like the vet my puppy sees here and she super nice too. She explains everything and has never steered us wrong. I got the insurance too and it did end up saving up money in the long run. more

Doctor Kim is the best! Everyone rocks! I think the people that had a bad visit are the ones that need to go to the doctor. If you can't afford to pay for your pet's bills, don't get pets! more

A lot of research went into looking for a place to bring my dog. So I brought my Maltese here and I had a good experience. The reason being it was recommended by a friend (Mission pet hospital & SPCA were also recommended), location was close, friendly staff answering my questions on the phone and cost.\r \r Atmosphere | Clean, small waiting room with a lot of stuff around so it can feel cramped. \r Staff | Friendly, two - three were at the desk, helped me with any questions I had\r Services | I brought him in for a health certificate and dental cleaning.\r Cost | Pet visits are $60, but if you have the insurance ($209) it's half that and any procedures. There are other benefits that come with the insurance, but too many to list. Dental is difficult to price out because it depends on the situation. Just be aware if it's your first time taking your dog to the Vet their are other fees and services that are not included in the estimate. TOTAL = $580ish w/ insurance, w/o $990ish\r Parking | On the Street at a meter so bring quarters. I didn't have any change so the MPH was kind enough to give me change for a dollar\r Overall | The staff is nice, Dr. Kim is nice and they took care of my dog and explained / answered my questions.\r Recommend | Yes, but do your due diligence about whatever procedure you need done and ask questions to make sure the place is a right fit for you. more

Let me tell you, they've taken really excellent care of my kitty. I brought her there after another vet didn't give me very good instructions on how to deal with her newly discovered diabetes. I gave my cat too much insulin and nearly killed her! Dr. Melcon saved her life! I also see Dr. Wolf and Pertucci and they are really good with my cat and also take the time to make sure that i completely understand my cat's complex needs and ""things to know in case of emergency"" - now I'm managing diabetes AND CRF!!! The front staff is young, however they've always been helpful and respectful with me. I trust these vets and their staff completely! more

When I lived in San Francisco, I used to bring my cats to Marina Pet Hospital. I thought it was over priced and the front desk staff really drove me crazy (this is an understatement). Since then I moved to the East Bay. My cat was misdiagnosed at the new vet in the East Bay. On the brink of loosing my cat Tanner and my mind, I drove to San Francisco to see if they could help. \r \r Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Petrucci literally saved my cat's life. Dr. Petrucci did a surgery to remove a blockage in his intestines. She oversaw the healing process too. She actually stayed until 11pm the night of his surgery to bring his body temperature up to normal so he wouldn't die that night. The vet techs were also really great too. They worked hard to help Tanner (that is the cat's name) throughout the process. One of the tech's stayed late in order to let me try and bring Tanner out of the semi-coma state he was in after surgery. His manner was professional, kind and caring.\r \r How do you thank someone who has gone so far out of their way to save your little family member? I cannot possibly give her (or the others who helped) too many nice thoughts, well wishes and thank you's. My cat would have surely died this month without her care. She is one of the kindest, most gentle, most genuine and intelligent vets I have ever run across. She did quite a lot of research about his condition and continuously informed me of any updates she found in the journals. She made personal calls to check in and update me on her latest research. (I am sure not all cats will need this much research as what he has is pretty unusual).\r \r If you can get past the fact that the front desk staff is a little sour, you will wind up with some of the best animal care with vets who love your animals nearly as much as you do. As a side note- their internal insurance plan saved me WELL over a thousand dollars on this surgery. more

5 Stars for Dr. Caroline Kim (she rocks)\r \r Dr. Kim is fantastic and understands that health care is a dialog. The best listening and explaining skills for a vet that I've run across in 4 states.\r \r We definitely have spent much time there over the last 4 years, and the staff us helpful and caring.\r \r My advice is to take the time to find the right vet for you in the practice - you will get an HMO approach (whatever vet is available) if you don't ask for a certain vet, which is fine unless your pet has special needs/complicated medical history. more

The hospital is run by 4 women vets. All of them are great with our dog. It's easy to get appointments even on short notice. They get extra points for having a very affordable pet health insurance plan. It's only about $125-150/year. You get a discount on office visits, procedures, and meds. Vaccinations are free (and that alone makes the plan save for itself). Having gone through a couple of rather serious ailments with our dog, we've made good use of their services. Definitely high quality care! more

I took my newly adopted my cat, Oliver here for a check up on Saturday morning. It was an 8am, the first appointment-- and although they opened about 5-10 minutes late, the rest of the visit went smooth. Dr. Kim was very patient with my long list of questions, and very informative. She treated Oliver well. As far as cost goes, I'm not sure because I'm a new owner. But, Oliver was tested for feline leukemia and aids as well as dewormed for $80... you make be the judge. Overall, good service, I'll be back! more

Dr. Wolfe is great. Took the time to answer all of our puppy-related questions and did a great job reassuring us when our rescue puppy, Jackson, was having some stomach problems. more
