My experience with Tveten's Auto Clinic has been generally good. I have taken my car over there for about 7 or 8 years, and what few times I have had any work done, they have always taken car of me courteously. And, they have done good work. Harold Aasland more

The staff is competent and friendly and do their best to work in a needed repair as soon as possible. They also provide return home/pick-up ride as well. We have always been pleased with the work done to our vehicles. more

My experience with Tveten's Auto Clinic has been great. They gave me a loner and everything. I have used them before because I am in their networking group, and they are are great. They arrange for a ride if I need it. This time they let me drive loner just for an oil change and inspection, and garages don't usually do that. Oct 7, 2010 business \r Tveten's Auto Clinic 5425 Lakewood Towne Center Blvd SW,\r Lakewood, WA 98499\r USA \r I cannot recommend this shop. I took in a 07 Hyundai Santa Fe with a clutch problem. They kept the car for 4 days and gave me an estimate of $3200 plus tax to make the repair. I decided it was too expensive for a clutch and took the car to a different shop ( the dealer), to my surprise, the parts that Tvetens was telling me needed replacement, where the wrong ones and the dealer fixed it for $2700.70 tax included. They will charge you a diagnostics fee. In my case it was $152 for bad and incomplete information. They kept the car for 3.5 days getting the price on parts and did not call me to give updates. I estimate that you will end up paying 30% more if you take it to this shop. I was trying to establish a relationship with a local shop but not anymore. You walk out of there feeing taken advantage of and mad at their abuse. You just don't treat customers that way. Unprofessional more

I would not recommend others to this shop. I took in a Santa Fe Hyundai with a clutch problem. They kept the vehicle for 3 days before calling with a full quote. I called each day for updates. They charged me $152.00 for diagnostics and the total estimate for the repair was $3200 plus tax. I did research and took it to the dealer where they found that the parts TVETENS was telling me were bad, where OK and the issue was not as serious as Tvetens stated. They don't have a professional approach to the customer and charge excessively for diagnostics. (The dealer final bill was $2700.70 tax included). I went back because I wanted to establish a relationship with a shop to keep my car in good repair, this is the second time I take my car to them and I feel they are about 30 more expensive than anyone else, including the dealer. Why do they need to charge so much for diagnostics? The dealer did it for free. I would be happy to pay 1 hr labor, but $152 is over the top and even at that for bad and incomplete diagnostics. If you go there, prepare to pay too much and walk out mad, feeling that you got taken advantage of. RESPONSE FROM Tveten's Auto Clinic: We are sorry that you are upset with us, this was not our intention. We have our diagnostic procedures that we stick by to assure that what we are testing and replacing the accurate parts and that we are not just throwing parts at the vehicles. This is designed to help our customers save money in the long run. We had placed the clutch kit on the bill, as a worst case scenario, due to the fact we could not see that part until it was taken apart. If that part wasnt needed, then we would have removed that cost from the bill, as we had done for you in the past. That cost reduction, along with the value remaining on your loyalty card from the last visit, would have made the total cost well below the dealership rate. I've used Tveten's Auto Clinic for over 20 years. We used them when the current owner's dad and uncle ran it. They are the best. They are honest and the best kind of small, local business. We are a military family and have lived all over the world. They are the best we have ever had working on our cars. more

We've been with Tveten's Auto Clinic since ages and ages ago. My husband did business with their grandfather when he had a small service station. After that it was the sons, and now it is the grandson! All our experiences have been good. For a little while in that time we went to someone else, a personal friend, but we went back to Tveten's again. They are very nice in the shop. They will tell you what they are going to do before they do it so that you never have a surprise bill afterwards. At this point they are like family to us. more

I purchased my first car in 2006 and when I realized dealerships charge way too much for routine service I set out to find a place with a track record as squeaky clean as my Lola (thats my 2006 Accord). After a couple days of online research I found a place not too far from where I lived in Lakewood. My first impression about the place was how clean it was and second how the staff let me know that they knew I was there even though they were with other customers. I haven't looked back. My Lola is in great shape and I didnt break the bank in the process of regularly maintaining my vehicle. I always receive reminders in the mail when its time for an oil change or any other regular service you would seek out after so many thousand miles. I can always go print coupons from the webpage to help keep the cost down too. These people are like family. Why would I go anywhere else? I took my car in to tvetens last week for a runability issue with my camaro, the check engine lite would come on and at stop lites it would die. They gave me a free 10 miniute consultation and found the problem, the EGR valve had come loose from the manifold causing an exaust leak and also causing the computer to get bad readings so the car would die!!! They really went out of there way to look at my camaro for free and fix it, when there was such a little problem that caused all these issues. THANKS Tvetens for all you do your the best, its hard to find such an HONEST shop and you guys were so honest, i will not take my car anywhere else! more

I took my car, 2005 BMW 530i to get an oil change few days ago at this place. I Usually took it to BMW dealership for car service but decided to take it to Tveten's since it's close to my house. I did not drive it for three days afterwards since I have two other vehicles to drive, and today, when I pulled out of the garage, my husband notice an oil leak underneath the car. \r I just had my car inspected and did all the maintanance repair at the BMW a month earlier and it was perfect. So the oil leak happened after they did the oil change. I spoke with the manager who promised to take care of it.\r Today, Sunday, July 18, 2010, I met with the manager, Ray Gregory, who took care of the problem promptly. It turned out that there was some oil residue after they changed the filter, or whatever. Mr. Gregory cleaned the area and there was no oil leak. Thank God. I have to give the credit when the credit due. In this case, I thanked the manager who took his time to fix the problem. more

I found that you get what you pay for. When I went to the dealer they would only give me a 1 year warranty so I was told about Tvetens so a went to them and found that they had a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty and that some things have a lifetime warranty on parts. Not only did they have a nice warranty I also saved $200.00 on the same repairs that the dealer wanted to do. I would like to say that Tvetens had also e-mailed pics of what was going on with my vehicle. What more could I ask for. more

I was very impressed on how they fixed my concern in a timely manner. they promised that my car would be done that day and it was. I was impressed that they also offer a shuttle ride home so I didn't have to wait there and they also picked me up when my car was completed. they have a very clean facility and fresh coffee. The staff is very friendly and also offer lifetime protection plan as well as a loyalty card for discounts. Oh and not to mention they have the best warranty around. I will only be taking my car to them from now on. more

Brought my car to this place to have the problem repaired. Spend and arm and a leg. The repair was not done, still had problems. The employees are very pushy. more

We decided to try Tvetens since they are recommended by AAA. We were able to print service coupons from their website, and the price we paid for the repair to our exhaust system was lower than the price they originally quoted. The facilities are cleaner than most auto repair places I've visited. And they even took us home in their private shuttle and picked us up when the work was done later that day.
