Here in KC it is -10 degrees & with windchill it's -30. Everything is cancelled out...schools, churches, even motorist assist isn't running because of the dangerous cold. EXCEPT Town & Country trash service....they not only make their employees work EVERY holiday but also when frostbite will happen in just a couple of minutes.\r \r Seriously?? It is TRASH....it can wait a day or two. \r \r Personally, I will no longer be using them. I can't support such cruelty. more

Tired of doing business with a company that doesn't know what customer service is. This is the second year I have had to constantly call about my yard waste not being picked up. I used this service for about a year and a half. Within 6 months they totally destroyed 2 of my trash cans. They were the Rubbermaid commercial version. I called to basically say please be nicer to my trash cans. I did not ask they be replaced. I was told maybe I should go to another service if I am not happy. No apology, no effort to resolve the issue, nothing. Then every so many months would not pick up all the garbage even though it was all stuff they pick up and far from being over the limit. So I cancelled the service and moved on. They then billed me for 2 months after I left even though I called and cancelled the service. Finally I sent them a copy of my trash service bill for the time period in question showing I had other trash service and was not using them. Still billed me. I called and explained the letter I sent and the copies of the other trash service. I was told I still owed the money since they had no record of my calling to cancel. more

DON'T USE TO THE NTH DEGREE!!! They skipped our dumpster two weeks in a row - I called BOTH times and told our ""account rep"". They kept failing to credit us so I withheld payment until they did. They cut off ALL service - then when I called, they PROMISED to pick up the following day. That was 3 days ago. I just called AGAIN and the gal was SO RUDE to me. She wouldn't listen - and when I demanded that she stop talking and hear me, I got the ""Excuuuuse meeeee!"" Somehow the trash business has become all about the ninnies who answer the phone - none of whom has enough of a brain to handle a minimum wage job. more

HORRIBLE company!!! DO NOT USE!!!! Worse customer service ever! I was a customer for 7 years and I canceled service with them three weeks ago because of the horrible customer service. Now I am fighting with them to come pick up THEIR equipment so I can have a refund for the month of service I prepaid!!! Save yourself trouble and don't start business with them! more

no good waste of time 7/22/2011

I have recently moved and upgraded to a 2yrd dumpster I paid our bill and they still haven't picked up the trash for the last two weeks. I have called numerous times as my husband did too and they keep saying they will come get it today five days later it's still here and they guaranteed me it would be picked up today I don't know anyone who picks trash up at nine pm the worse part is we have cleared out the fence line and removed the low hanging limbs and they still would drive in our yard thanks for nothing would love to tell the owner my thoughts especially when my husband had helped him when he got into an accident he seems to be about money and his workers seem to not want to do their job leaving us to deal well I can't pick up the trash out of yard anymore since I can't walk do to disability and they are worthless I could do a better job more

So glad I switched to town & country from Deffenbaugh 4/19/2011

after having Deffenbaugh trash service for over 7 years, we finally switched to Town and country 2 years ago and have experienced much better service than we ever did with deffenbaugh. Deffenbaugh trash collectors throw your cans all over the street where as our trash driver (used to be John and now i think his name is) and his helper not only put our cans standing straight up but when the wind is blowing real bad they are even courteous enough to put my cans under my carport to keep them from blowing away. I run a home daycare in belton and this is a big help to me with little ones inside it is a bit hard to go chasing trash cans down my street and attend to the lil ones at same time. Over the years I have had to replace many many many cans due to breakage from being thrown everywhere (and I don't get cheap cans all of mine are on wheels) but since I switched to town and country I have not had to replace one can :D which is a huge savings each year (used to replace about 2-4 a year). Thank you guys for doing such a wonderful job of respecting your customers property and handling it with care. For the office staff, the only person I have ever talked to in the office is a lady named rachel and she is always very polite and takes care of any issues I may have had (only issue was concern about trash being missed and found out we had a new driver that day) and took care of it right away. I know summer is just round the corner so going to keep bottle waters on hand for those hot summer days. I know it not much but hope it is enough to show you how much I really appreciate all you do. Thank You and keep up the good work....and let my old driver john know that he is in our prayers and we hope he is feeling better soon. God bless you all. more

Should Have cancelled a long time ago 1/14/2011

I had their service for over 5 years. Anytime I would call it was like I was inconveniencing them. I also had a few pickup days where they claimed my trash wasn't out, but it was out when I got home from work...I wonder how that happened? I called a week ago after they were witnessed tormenting my dogs while picking up the trash. I specifically asked for a call back and I gave them a week to do so, but they never did. Time to find a company that actually cares about their customers. more

Choice or no choice, save a little lose alot! 12/29/2010

I work for one of the local trash services here in the KC Metro area, I have personally and first hand witnessed Town and Country go through and force many companies out by bypassing You Me Us the CUSTOMER. They go to the city halls with the Mid America Regency Counsel and barter and dictate to the city Rep's what is going to happen and they usually get it AT OUR EXPENSE of course. The worst thing is this all can be stopped they have no right to take away our Civil rights. Once the Reps sign on the dotted line You Me Us we are all just a number not a customer like it should be, that is the way that T&C will always see it AS YOU CAN TELL FROM THE REVIEWS. You may save a LITTLE money but you WILL sacrifice service and the gratitude for the fact that you ARE the one who pays their bills. SO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR CHOICE OF SERVICE these guys don't know what service is. They pick my trash up when they DECIDE that it isn't to heavy or when they read their route sheet, which isn't that hard to do. Good luck with the customer service They lick to call you a Liar! more

Service 11/15/2010

I put my trash out this week and the the neighbors trash was still out and when I got home the trash had not been picked up. I looked up the phone number and called after a brief pause they told me that they would come out in the morning and pick it up. When I left for work at 7am the next morning the trash had been picked up. Customer service has improved, just pay attention to neighbors trash prior to calling in for a issue. more

Worst Service EVER 7/7/2010

I have lived at this location 12yrs--have paid my bills on time, have had my trash out by 7am every Tuesday and on 7-6-10 at 3pm called customer service was told my trash wasn't out at 11:18am. We put the trash out at 7am, ran errands at 9am and it was still there,came home at 11:15am it was still there. She said she spoke to manager and it wasn't out so won't be back. I requested call back by manager but I actually called him at 4:55 and Brian (Bryan) actually called me a liar when I said it was out since 7am. He said at 11:48am it wasn't out. I asked if they had a substitute driver and he said in no uncertain terms that he was the one on this route and it wasn't out. He said he would be out later and if their mistake would pick up-and I explained I would have a sign in my yard not to do business with them and he said I could do whatever I wanted. We waited on him to show up and he never did. But today Wednesday their truck came thru our neighborhood (not a normal pick up day here on Wed) and took our sign. We have a local company now Constable and they treat you with the respect that Town & Country seem to be lacking. But by reading the reviews I am glad to know I am not the only one they have called a liar. Maybe they have too many customers to care one way or the other. Hopefully customers have the option to change and do so. Then they may value their customers more or maybe not. Because I could care less how many customers leave a company that is known for calling customers liars to their face. Cons: Customer service rude, manager rude more

I've gotten tired of Town & Country Disposal picking up my trash but leaving my yard waste week after week. So, after choosing another service (Constable Sanitation) who is a little cheaper AND a local company, I called Town & Country to see if they'd try to find out why I wanted to cancel or talk me out of it. When I told the gal on the phone that I wanted to cancel, she made NO ATTEMPT to retain my business. She just asked me if I wanted pick up next Tuesday or not and said my account would be cancelled. Do they not care that there are 4 competing services in this city? Do they really not want my $49.50 every quarter? Well, that's just fine with me, because now Constable is going to be getting my $48.00 per quarter instead. Town & Country, you're FIRED. Pros: Usually picked up trash on time Cons: Pretty much never picked up yard waste more

Obnoxious customer service 3/17/2010

Letter from company states yard waste pick up to start March 1st. Entire neighborhood put out yard waste & it was not picked up. When I called to see if the truck had missed us, I was told their policy was May 1st. I asked when that had changed & was not given an answer other than ""Our policy is May 1st"". I suggested that in the future they let their customers know if a policy has changed. The customer service rep was obnoxious! This week I put the yard waste in my rolling cart & guess what, they picked through my can & threw it all out on the curb. Cons: Change policies & don't notify customers, pickup is irratic more

No one ever called me back I called and called and finally today I told the lady if no new can then stop charging me and come and pick up your BROKE dispenser and I will go to lowes and by my own for $80. She said I would have one today. If not I want my $60 deposit back and I will go buy my own. It is broken because of the way it hits the side of the trash truck. Dirty diapers and trash are being torn up all over my yard by an animal that can fit thru the hole that is the size of a 2 liter bottle. I will keep you posted. Good Company 8/18/2009

I have no complaints except for the lawn waste bagging system. The brown bags are hard to deal with. The plastic was easy to handle and did not tear. Please consider allowing us to use them. The school fundraiser lost sales due to bag issue. Outside of this I am very please with the system. They come when they are suppose to. No mess and they are very helpful anytime I have called to question something. Keep up the good work! Pros: always comes when expected Cons: do not like brown sacks for lawn waste more

Horrible Company 8/12/2009

Have had 3 trash cans totally destroyed by their men (cost of around $80 to replace) and had to stand by for many weeks to literally yell at them not to smash my cans into the truck and tear them up and then throw them in the ditch. When I persisted in using one that they had ripped the handle off of, they then tore the makeshift handle I had crafted off of it too! When I complained to the company, I got no response from the management and no reimburement for my damaged trash cans. If they happen to drop trash, forget about it getting on the truck! I also had pre-paid my service for the entire year and they refused to honor the pre-payment when the rates increased. Unfortunately, they are now the only game in this little town.
