I contacted Thiele Heating and Air Conditioning to give me the third of three estimates to replace my old gas furnace. They gave me the best price of the three and based on their history they gave me the confidence to select them for the job. On the day of the installation the Technicians arrived on time and they worked non-stop until the job was completed. Very professional. Everything about the removal of the old furnace and the installation of the new one was exactly as promised. Also, the cost was what was quoted. No hidden charges. more

I called Theile when I realized my furnace was not producing heat properly. A technician, Frank, arrived that same afternoon and diagnosed the issue as a malfunctioning circuit board. He obtained a quote for the part, which I agreed to, and he made arrangements to come back the next day. When Frank arrived, he told me that he had put some more thought into the problem and wanted to test another part that could also be the issue. The test were inconclusive, but Frank persisted. He ultimately diagnosed a faulty gas valve and proceeded to make that repair. Frank's persistence and diligence resulted in a bill that was more than $300 less than the original quote. I could not be more pleased with the quality of service I received from Frank and Thiele. more

I was impressed with all the Thiele professionals. They were all great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thiele to anyone. The new furnace and blower are so quiet – I wish we would have replaced the beast years ago! We financed the rather large expense, 12 months same as cash, through GE Money Bank, a program offered by Thiele, and payments can be made on the account at Walmart for $1-$1.50 service charge. We now have quiet 95% energy efficient furnace and AC – and we look forward to the savings as our energy bills go down! I would advise other customers to be leery of other companies that offer “too many coupons” - might not be a good thing. more

The service people came out the same day even though I called late in the afternoon, and they had a unit they installed the same day. My only regret was that the installation does not look aesthetically plesasing. The new unit was about half the size of the old unit, so that did not make things easy. The new furnace keeps the house warmer and should have lower cost per month. Thiele helped with the available federal and Vectren energy efficiency credits as well. I would recommend them to a friend. more

Called to check the price on an A/C 5/30/2012

Called to check the price on an A/C tune-up & was told it would cost $89.95. Tech came and did the work while my wife was at home and charged $85 extra for 30 min. of labor (total $175). I called to dispute the overcharge I was told I had to speak with the owner, John Traub, about any price disputes. I left three message for John over a week's period of time and was never called back. I would not recommend using this company to anyone. more

Hmmmmm.... not sure. It was an expensive morning... 2/25/2010

They were running a special for furnace cleaning ($59.95). I have 2. They wanted regular price ($89.95) to do the second. I said just do the one. I told the tech this made no business sense as I could call another Co. running a special to do the other (I found one for $49.95). The tech called the his boss and they said go ahead and do it. I teased the tech saying I hope the Co. didn't tell him to ""go ahead and do it as long as they found something to fix."" The unit had been working fine til then. Lo and behold, the gas valve wouldn't fire after the cleaning. Added another $480 to the bill. Unholy coincidence? Possibly. The tech assured me he would not have the heart to do something like that. Could be, I'm not sure. As another reviewer mentions, there was a tacked on $6 gas fee never mentioned before the service. I told him this seemed more sleazy than including it up front. He then quoted what other HVAC companies in the area are charging for gas (more of course). I called 2 other co's and they had no such charge (I asked the phone person to check). Pros: on time, knowledgeable tech Cons: see below more

Just OK. Hidden Gas Charge Disappointing 2/3/2010

Made arrangements for a service call - first experience with the company. Needed to replace my faulty thermostat. The technician arrived over 30 minutes late, and I had to phone the office to see if anyone was coming. The tech. was neat and professional, and worked quickly. While he was here he also checked the filter and humidifier at his suggestion. One thing that bothered me was an extra $6.00 ""gas charge"" when he presented the bill. When I had made the service appointment I was quoted a price, and this had not been mentioned. It seemed underhanded and besides, gas doesn't cost $4 per gallon like it once did. Pros: Polite, effecient technician Cons: Arrived late, no call, billed more than quoted. more
