Best Indian Restaurant in the RTP!!! 4/30/2010

I have been there quite a few times to enjoy their great food after recommendation from a friend. Since then, I had two parties at the restaurant and also ordered catering for my sister's wedding. In all instances, food were excellent and our guests have also praised the quality and taste of the food. This restaurant has become my only choice for Indian food and highly recommend to people who haven't been there yet. Pros: Food, Hospitality of the Chef/Owner, atmosphere Cons: Haven't seen any. more

Good food, no integrity 3/7/2010

My husband and I used to go to Suchi (now Chef of India) frequently for the buffet. We were always very happy with the service, with the food, and with the price. We would take our friends and family and always leave a 20% tip for our server. We noticed often, though, that the staff was always different and seemed to give the owner or manager a wide berth. Another friend of mine went to the restaurant one day and observed a waitress being yelled at by the owner in full view of the patrons. The waitress was obviously brow-beaten, and when asked by my friend if she gets to keep her tips, she quickly shook her head 'no' and scurried off. I'm sure there are people who think, "if you don't like your job or aren't getting paid enough, get another one", but that's easier said than done. My husband and I, now knowing this, have not and will not be back. It's too bad, too, because the food really was good. Pros: good buffet Cons: treatment of waitstaff more

Terrible hygenic conditions 2/6/2010

First of all the name you don't know which restaurant, you ask the reception like 'Is this xxx restaurant?", the guy at reception will say "Yes" without realizing what you asked for. In fact we entered thinking as if a different restaurant but the front desk guy lied . We had a major set back about the integrity of the restaurant. we thought ok let's try here.Food is somehow manageable, however terrible hygenic conditions and service was terrible. The waiter was more interested to watch the TV. We saw living cockroach staring at us when we lift glass to drink water. it ran away and hid in furniture. we called and showed the roach to waiter there. she ignore it as if its very common. he said oh is it..and want off..never will go again. who knows what they have in there. Pros: None Cons: Bad food and bad service enter at your own Risk !!! more

Confused restaurant Suchi or Chef of India 2/6/2010

I had lunch at this place during weekday. This is the worst place ever I had Indian food in United States. Everything tastes like as it is kept from days. Esp Gulab Jamun...Oh my god..Its awful...I would never go to this place again. Price is less, I think we get what we paid for, but we do get nice food with this price range. To best test all the reviews , click the reviewer's profile, you will be surprised to see that all the reviews are sigle reviewers of this business, intentionally made by the owner of this business. If you really want to taste the food just walk in and give a try. Pros: Nice arts on walls. Cons: Tasteless food and unprofessional behaviour more

Vegan, delicious, yum! 10/25/2009

The food is wonderful, and there are loads of vegan options- even on the buffet. I highly recommend the place. And, if you're vegan, it's one of the few places in town where they know what that means and are excited to make vegan food. Pros: Great vegan options. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. more

Authentic Indian in the Triangle 10/16/2009

Kiran the chef of the now defunct Suchi and now called Chef of India is very authentic. it isn't watered down for the masses. I usually eat there once a week. Pros: Kiran comes from Delhi Cons: their chicken 65 is not the best more

Great place 6/23/2009

Hi, I am a frequent traveller and I go from Dallas, TX to Raleigh every week. I make it a point to visit Suchi more than once every week as the food here is great. The place is neat, and the servers are well mannered and treat you like a celebrity. The food is made to your taste: spicy, mild, medium etc. My favourites here are: Appetizers: Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Aloo Tikki Main Curry: Punjabi Dahi Kadi Drink: Mango Lassi This is one of those best dinner places in town you dare not miss. Pros: very tasty food, served with love more

Excellent, varied, flavorful 5/2/2009

Chef kiran's, talent exceeded every one of my expectations. He is a master chef and the new owner of this restaurant who also served the Prime Minister of India! His cabbage Porial with asparagus had a gentle ginger overtone. The Palak Paneer was made with fresh spinach not frozen. The Vegetable Pakoda's were so flavorful and his Raita was packed with cucumber, onions and tomato. He had many chicken dishes which were distinct and delicious along with goat and fish dishes. Dessert was a culinary experience with his Mango Mousse, Carrot Halwa and Gulaab Jamon. I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was modest but the food exceptional. Pros: Every dish tasted different; chef-customer interaction more

Fantasic Indian Food - Highly Recommended 1/1/2009

Fantastic Indian Food in the Triangle 12/20/2008

A fantastic new Indian restaurant. I am not a fan of the move by most Indian places to opt for buffet style menu, it has seemed to cheapen the quality. But in this case I'll make an exception. The variety of foods was wonderful and well beyond the typical Chicken korma. I tried a wonderful fried fish and a mint chicken I had never had before. They had a terrific lentil dish (5 types of lentils in a creamy base) and plenty of actual vegetarian options. Even the deserts expanded beyond the typical to include a splendid mango mousse. The chef used to work for the Prime Minister of India. The atmosphere is small and intimate for a buffet and the price was very reasonable. Give it a try - we've enjoyed Indian food for years in many places (CA, NY, DC, ONT) and this ranks up there with the best. Pros: Quality of meal and diverse menu, great selections, exceptional chef more

Truly excellent Indian buffet 12/20/2008

This is some of the best Indian food in the Triangle and we enjoy the buffet style which gives the ability to try different dishes. Tasty, well-prepared food. Lots of variety of choices. Staff is friendly. Funny to me how some of the best restaurants we've found here have been hidden in little strip shopping centers as this one. Don't let that fool you - this is seriously good food if you enjoy Indian cuisine. We will definitely be going back! more

The History Making restaurant Suchi Indian cuisine or Chefs of India 12/18/2008

Recently had a buffet and later realized that i wasted few $ in a wrong place. This restaurant has been a talk of the town and people keep going to see this place if the business is open. The food was not even upto the mark. The chicken curry was just mixture of some spices without any proportion. The service guys are so confused , though you see three people but it is very hard to get them, more

My Favorite Food 12/14/2008

My favorite restaurant. The food is always perfect. We travel almost an hour (one way) to eat here a few times a month. Chef Kiran is blessed and talented. My favorites are the Navratan Korma, his variations on Alu Gobi, and the Hyderbadi Eggplant. Oooh, the okra dishes are fabulous as well as the saag. Sometimes he uses hard boiled eggs in a dish and that is always great. His dishes are spicy and flavorful. Some may be hot if you are not accustomed to Indian, but that is part of the fun. There is raita available, which will help cool your taste buds for the next bite. There are also several desserts to sample. The Mango Mousse is my favorite, along with the Gulab Jamun and the carrot dessert. I love this place. Pros: variety, quality of food, friendly Chef and staff Cons: i can't eat there daily more

Best Indian Cuisine I've Ever Had! 12/14/2008

I dearly love Indian food, ever since being introduced to it 10 years ago by my wife. I try it everywhere I travel, in the US and Canada. By far, the best I have had is at Suchi in Cary. Thank goodness the best Indian food I've experienced is nearby! The care and preparation by Chef Kirin is unique. He blends Indo-Chinese tastes successfully with his vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Every time we go, it is literally a unique experience. I've never been disappointed in the 7 months I've been eating here, ~3 times a month. more

Great Variety, well prepared, inexpensive 12/13/2008

Just got back from my first visit. I highly recommend the buffett. Great value and you get to try a huge sample of the menu. All of it was remarkably different and tasted great, even the goat. My wife and I try to find an Indian restaraunt wherever we go and this one was awesome. Pros: variety, value, service, friendly staff Cons: Indian music was slightly loud more

The Best Indian Food, Best Chef, Best Quality and Service 12/13/2008

We went to Suchi Indian Restaurant last Sunday (12/06/2008) and we found the buffet food very tasty, and very similar to authentic food you get in India. On top of the food taste we liked the special attention and humble greetings from the Chef who served PMs of India. The quantity and quality of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items were excellent. We certainly recommend "Suchi" for the best authentic indian food and great taste in the triangle. Pros: Best food and taste, best quality, best service Cons: none more

Great Chef Excellent Food 11/3/2008

we ordered food for birthday party after hearing from our friends that food is very good after new management took over. Great Chef. All items are very good, don't miss Suchi Saag curry. All items are very tasty, not too spicy or buttery like other restaurants. Best of all Indian restaurants in Triangle I have tried so far. I would highly recommend. No one can beat their catering price. Pros: Taste, number of items and price Cons: don't have any more

Best Indian Food in the Triangle. 11/1/2008

My husband and I took and our two infants visited this establishment to celebrate our Anniversary on 10/10/08. We were also a fan of the restaurant before the new management had taken over. It is wonderful. The food was fresh and spicy. The flavors didn't appear to be muted to appease the generic American taste bud. They had an excellent selection that accomodated both my husbands and my palate. The staff was beyond attentive. Our glasses were never empty and there was always someone stopping to ask if everything was ok. There was a man near the buffet explaining what some of the choices were and encouraging me to try everything. The Naan that was delivered to our table was warm and plentiful. Our evening had started off poorly but the dining experience at Such Indian completely turned what was going down as the worst anniversary in history into a lovely treasured memory. We're going again tomorrow.! Thank you Guys and please keep up the good work and the delicious food!! Pros: Excellent food, selection and staff Cons: Ambience was a little lacking..... more
