I used to like this place occasionally for drinks and people watching although I'd eaten here only once and that was not good. I went recently and the people watching was.. different. Not so interesting and borderline Sunset club trashy. One think remains consistent though which was a terrible steak meal. Do not eat here if you are a steak lover. It's no Ruth Chris'.! more

I had been wanting to try STK for a while and finally had a chance last weekend. After starting with a tasty mojito, we perused the menu to see what we going to dine on. We started with the diver scallops, they were ok, after reading a few reviews I knew I had to order the mac and cheese, I guess I am not really a mac and cheese girl, cause I was not really impressed with it, we also got the parmesan truffel fries - OMG I think I ate the whole plate of these myself delish. We split the ribeye, which my friend loved and he is so particular about his steak when we eat out...but he LOVED this. We decided to splurge and get two desserts, which I now cant remember anything about them - cause I did not even get a bite. We saw the server carrying them out from the back heading towards our table ...and then he walked right past us and put them on another table, the couple at that table looked confused as they knew they did not order them, the server apparently realized his mistake picked up the plates from their table and walked them over and placed them on our table, are you kidding me, they were on someone elses table and now you want to serve them to us? I don't think so...this is STK, you don't do that do you? So when we voiced our concern he said he would get new desserts and walked them to the back....really you are going to make new ones? even if he did there was no way we could be sure, so even though he walked back out with plates, we said sorry but we would pass on the dessert tonight...bummer. Over all the experience was good I would go back. more

Went to STK the other night with friends and had a great time as always! LOVE their Jumbo lump crab Salad!! Our server was great and the manager came by and checked on us and we even met their marketing lady who had great recommendations on cocktails and sides (their drinks are as good as the steak) - Thank you SO much!! Everything was simply AMAZING!! I will be back for more!! more

My friends and I decided to make a reservation at STK for a long over due girls night out. I checked out the website so I already knew that this place had some gorgeous decor. It was beautiful, dimly lit and i loved the color scheme to the place..bold white, purple, black\r Going on to the food....I was happy to see they had different portions, small..medium..large and our steaks came out the way we liked. For the sides, we got the sweet corn that everyone seems to be raving about & the parmesan truffle fries. Sweet corn pudding was definitely one of my favorites. \r I think what helped make the night great was the service. I haaaate it when I go to restaurants & the service sucks. Luckily, this wasn't the case. \r Had several glasses of wine....cuz what's a girls night out without alcohol?! I tried their special La Cienega drink with cucumbers and mint leaves....so refreshing & yum. \r Definitely coming back! They let us know that they have a special for groups of girls on Thurs with complimentary Sangria. Free alcohol? I'm there. more

We actually enjoyed it, but it could be a bit better. Scallops on mini pancakes, excellent. Rice Krispy Shrimp, good but not great. Chicken was excellent. I went for the 20 oz rib steak. It was cooked perfectly and very tender and flavorful. Potatoes were OK, mushrooms excellent and mac and cheese was good but for $9? Bill was under $200 for two (no alcohol) which is in line for this type of place. Glad we went but it may be a while before we go back, there are better in the area. With deals like the ""Torched Tuesday"" special, which includes $5 Torched Cherry cocktails all night and complimentary Cherry Bomb shots, and the ""Lite Bite"" special where you can enjoy a steak and salad for $15 and a glass of wine for an additional $5, it's no wonder why STK has hundreds of followers on Twitter. We knew we'd be in for a great night - after all, a high end celeb-frequented steak house in the thick of the cool side of town... Ryan our server could not have been better or nicer. My filet-on-the-bone was a steak I shall remember for years to come. And the sides.. I had this rice-crispy shrimp that was super sumptuous - big thick meaty pieces of shrimp (were they prawns?...) -- and the oysters raw and rockefeller were delicious. The scene was cool, and yes there were celebs - the booths were white, mirrors, classic rock playing on the sound system --- had I died and gone to ""cool steak house heaven""? Yeah sure, it costs -- but any steak house costs money these days... Just go, drop the cash and have a night of it... we will be back for sure. Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

I came here on a Saturday night with a couple girlfriends & the decor inside was so pretty. It was simple yet very elegant and we noticed it was a very fun crowd. You could tell this is not your ordinary steakhouse. Loved the bread with the dipping sauce that comes in the beginning of the meal. So good! I asked for my steak to be cooked medium & to my surprise, it was cooked perfectly which was really great since lots of places always overcook or undercook my steak. We also had couple glasses of wine and some drinks and just had a good time. Pretty place, great people, great times! more

I came here one night after a recommendation from one of my friends and she was right! Food was delicious, steak was cooked perfectly and our server was super attentive & nice. I'm not big on sweets, but the dessert (pear tart & the chocolate cookie with ice cream) was amazing.. great place for birthdays or a girls night out! more

For a friends birthday I made reservations for 5 on a Friday night at 7:30pm. Everything was nothing short of a great dinner, from the hostess to the server and the food. The wine prices are higher than the average restaurant mark up. The steak, sides, etc were reasonably priced to any upscale steak house, like Mastros, Cut, BLT. It seems many LA restaurants are more likely to overcook their steaks especially compared to east coast restaurants but at STK my 6oz filet ($26) was cooked medium rare. All the sides are delicious, highly recommended are the mac&cheese and spinach ($9 each). We got a total of five sides but three or four would have been plenty. Two bottles of white and two of Caymus Cab, later we were happily full. In terms of steak houses I'd put STK on par with Cut but BLT is still my favorite in LA. Great date spot or for a special occasion. Valet only, street parking is impossible. Pros: Quality of food and service more

People always talk about the scene here but they forget about the FOOD. And suffice it to say, I have never, ever had a bad meal here. Everything is top-notch from the apps to the steak. the best dinning experience in the city of los angeles.......service is amazing.....the food is so yummy!!!...great place to take the family or your date .... Very nice ambiance, great decor, great martinis!!!!!!....and the white wall is so pretty.......Good Steak, Chops, Sides...and the mac and cheeseeeeee...yum!Servers were super attentive and not pretentious which is a relief compared to other steakhouses in los angeles.....I'm planning my bday dinner at STK!!!feb 2010 Pros: the best! more

A friend and I went to STk on Friday night and it was so much fun. There isn't a bad seat in the house as the comfy banquettes all face out into the room. I started with the Strawberry Cobbler martini and it was like drinking desert (as I love sweet cocktails, that's a plus). We shared the Shrimp Rice Krispies appetizer and the broth was perfect for dipping the bread that's made by their pastry chef and was delicious. I had the small filet and it was perfectly cooked to my liking and my friend had the Big eye tuna and said it tasted great. We shared the Parmesan Truffle Fries and they were our favorite. We also shared the mixed mushrooms which complimented the rest of our meal. Rachel was a fantasic server (knowledgeable and attentive). It was nice that one of the managers stopped by each table to see how the dinner was going. STK then bought us glasses of a delicious Italian sparkling wine which was a wonderful way to cap off our dinner. We were only upset that we didn't bring more friends to dinner so we could try more items on the menu and that we didn't leave any room for desert. Can't wait to go back and bring a larger group with me so I can try more of the menu. It's a fun, lively scene and the food did not disappoint! Pros: Parmesan Truffle Fries!!
