STERLING COLLISION IS A BAD CHOICE 9/10/2010

Sterling Collision had the worst service I've ever experienced. I took my Porsche Cayenne Turbo there to repair and it took them over 5 weeks to repair simple front bumper damage. Then called me the day it was promised to be finished and said they forgot to mention my sensors aren't working. Terrible customer service. Word of advise... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! more

do yourself a favor and look for another shop 6/4/2010

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that auto-repair shops have a pretty strong incentive to keep ur car for as long as they can so they can bill you for as many hours as possible. Sterling Collisions elevates this to an art form. I have an M3, which i managed to dent on the fender. So I took it to these guys and was given an estimated time of one week and an estimated cost of about 1600 bucks. two days later, they revised the estimate to...hold your breath...a month and half and about 9000 bucks. also, i was told this after they had apparently already taken much of the car apart..so i couldn't really go back in take my car back. their explanation would've been sad if not so laughable. apparently the parts they ordered from germany were delayed because of the volcanic ash from iceland. perfectly understandable you'd think...EXCEPT THAT THIS WAS A FULL MONTH AFTER ALL FLIGHTS HAD BEEN NORMALIZED IN EUROPE. I'm not certain what to feel more peeved about...the fact that they are clearling filching me or that they would try to insult my intellegence with such impunity. I have an idea for them to make sure they always deliver before time. just quote 6 months as repair time for every vehicle that comes in ...just be sure to do that after you've taken the vehicle apart...so the customer can't decide not to have you do the repairs. and then deliver the car in 5 months and 29 days. Viola.. u have a perfect record. on the other hand, if you're an unfortunate car owner with repair needs, my advice to you would be to just find another shop. Quality BMW repair in Orange County 1/4/2010

Hey all, recently I had a mishap with my beloved BMW E46 M3 coupe. And when I say beloved, I mean I love this car more than life itself… well not quite that much, but you get the idea. Specifically, my car suffered rear-end body damage. While it drove just fine, it looked horrible. Finding a company competent enough to repair an ultra-premium vehicle like an M3 isn’t easy. So I did a fair amount of research in order to find someone that I could trust to fix my prized G-ride. I eventually settled on Spectrum Collision based on other feedback I read on the internet as well its relationship with a local Orange county BMW dealership. During the estimate, the guys let me know right away that this fix was going to take some serious time. They also took the time to give me a tour of the facilities. I couldn’t believe the sheer number of late model and smashed up 3, 5-and 7-series Beemers under repair—these guys had to know what they’re doing! Without a doubt I could have brought my car elsewhere and it may have been repaired faster, but, to me, the MOST important aspect of a repair is doing it correctly. Thus, it wasn’t that big of a deal knowing that I’d be without my whip for 2 to 3 months. Craig Borja was the point man for my repairs and he flat-out did an excellent job. He didn’t really keep me aware of the status of the repair (fine by me) but when my car was finally fixed the results were outstanding. You could never tell that the car was in an accident and it drove perfectly. A few weeks after picking up the car, I noticed that the repaired areas showed some “orange-peel” effect in the black paint. I brought it back and Dan Gonzalez had the boys work their magic and voila, it was literally better than new. If you’re looking for a quick repair, I’d advise you to look elsewhere. But, if you want a quality repair and aren’t considered about the time it’s going to take than choosing Spectrum Collision is a no-brainer. Thanks guys for keeping me mached-out in style. Sterling Collision Center, LLC is the worst service ever! 10/15/2009

I got in a small accident at 5 MPH and had minor damage to the front end. Sterling took 2.5 months to repair a simple accident and lied to me and even hung up on my insurance agent when he inquired why it was taking so long. They cashed my 11K check the same day but made me wait over 2 months. I talked with the owner who told me he couldn't afford to lose any money on the deal and gave me a $700 discount even though I was out 5K for a rental car and had a 2K deductible. My insurance was billed over $16,000 and that was maxed out and they probably made 8k on that. Very poor service and when I finally got my car, none of the interior lights worked. So, I had to take to the dealership and pay them to fix. Joe the owner really needed my $1,300 more than I do so I hope he's happy for treating me like that and although I've never given anyone a bad review, consumers must know about their bait and switch tactics and this guy telling me he "couldn't afford" to credit me my deductible for keep more

Dear ‘Porsche’ ( or maybe Soldier5082 or not), As one of the principles at Sterling Collision Center, I was very concerned reading your post and was in the process of searching our Customer Survey follow ups when something troubled me. One of my employees brought to my attention that your post is almost identical to a post made back on May 2nd, 2007( 9 posts down from here). Same accident, same exact issues and same word for word comments. That said, we have tried to build a successful business but have found that there are many unscrupulous competitors out there who very often post anonymous ‘Bad Experience’ items on the internet in attempt to smear a brand we work hard to uphold. Do we have issues that arise at our business, absolutely; I and anyone else who is in the business world would be lying if we said otherwise. Particularly in our business, getting in an accident or damaging a high vehicle( or any vehicle) is not a pleasant experience. And regardless of what we do, we have found will never be able to please everyone, BUT we will do everything we can in our power to satisfy ALL of our customers. With every customer that gives us the opportunity to earn their business, we attempt to survey them at the conclusion of repairs which provides us immediate and real feedback. We try to resolve any outstanding issues immediately. We are very proud to say we have a 96.6% VERIFIABE customer satisfaction rating ( that is higher than most dealerships doing ‘routine’ service work, nothing close to the complexity of what have to perform in putting cars back together). Additionally, over 20% of customers are REPEAT customers each month, and we repair 100’s of cars a month. So Porsche or Soldier5082 or whoever you are, this post is very suspicious to say the least. In that vain, we will be pursuing all means necessary to remove this and other slanderous posts from this site and others with a passion. I am not hiding behind an anonymous post and encourage anyone with a valid complaint, concern or something that wasn’t just right, to call me directly at our store and I will do everything in my power to get to the bottom and resolve any outstanding issue with our repairs or your customer experience here at Sterling Collision Center. This was a pretty horrible experience. My car got a small dent in the rear quarter panel. Nothing big. Sterling was recommended by my insurance agency. To minimize the time we were withouout a car my wife took it in for an evaluation and had them order the parts before we delivered the car for repairs. Right away I knew they were padding their timeline when they said it would be two weeks for the actual repair (I have some familiarity with type of work and estimated it generously to be about 20 manhours of work). Still, rather than start over, we went forward. Immediately, the lack of returning phone calls started. After nearly three weeks of getting no information, I showed up in their lobby so they would have to speak to me. The manager and I looked at the car and it still wasn't close to done. He explained how they do such superb quality that it just takes longer. I was not impressed with this answer and after much discussion they agreed to provide me with a rental car. About 4 days later I got a call that my car was ready. I showed up and it was immediately obvious that the repair was very poorly done. The various seams were not close to be even (very tight in places and loose in others) and the quarter panel wasn't flush with the lower panel. I'm not picky but it was an obvious bad repair. The explanantion to me was that they had to first try aftermarket parts and the part just didn't fit well (then why call me and tell me the car is ready). They admitted it was a bad repair but had apparently been hoping I wouldn't notice or wouldn't say anything. Pros: NONE Cons: terrable customer service more
