It doesn't take a genius to figure out that auto-repair shops have a pretty strong incentive to keep ur car for as long as they can so they can bill you for as many hours as possible. Sterling Collisions elevates this to an art form. I have an M3, which i managed to dent on the fender. So I took it to these guys and was given an estimated time of one week and an estimated cost of about 1600 bucks. two days later, they revised the estimate to...hold your breath...a month and half and about 9000 bucks. also, i was told this after they had apparently already taken much of the car apart..so i couldn't really go back in take my car back. their explanation would've been sad if not so laughable. apparently the parts they ordered from germany were delayed because of the volcanic ash from iceland. perfectly understandable you'd think...EXCEPT THAT THIS WAS A FULL MONTH AFTER ALL FLIGHTS HAD BEEN NORMALIZED IN EUROPE. I'm not certain what to feel more peeved about...the fact that they are clearling filching me or that they would try to insult my intellegence with such impunity.
