This Gym is incredibly shady. ***An easy way to spot FAKE reviews, When individuals recently put out 5 star reviews for this gym and also, completely by coincidence, they ALL just...

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/4/2014

I personally wish I never signed up for this gym. My friends raved about it, so I thought it'd be a fantastic idea. I personally think it's disgusting and out of date. I personally enjoy working out on post a million times better. I want to cancel my membership, but of course can't. I'm nervous to see what happens if we PCS. Do NOT sign up for this gym. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/27/2013

Was a member back in 2005 through a friend. Getting me in free off his membership he had. We were by no means close to the gym, but I was determined to get fit. I should have read the contract better. They ""show"" you the equipment, but you dont get to inspect it really. Once i became a member I started using the equipment, but noticed it was loose or worn down on most machines. None of the machines were wiped down, even though they are supposed to be after each use. The locker room is really the only thing i liked for the whole spa. The steam room was the part I liked the most, to clean out my nasal passages after a workout helped me recover faster. After about 2 months i didnt want to go anymore as i was ramping up for a deployment, and had classes. I learned at THAT time, the contract i signed for was for a number of months inbetween 2 and 3 years. I asked them how i can get out of it, and they said to PAY EVERY MONTHS BILL AT ONE TIME... I looked blankly at the manager and he looked at me like I was stupid. Then I told him I was deploying... he said No problem call this number, and about 4 Thursdays later I had an appointment. The appointment didnt do ANYTHING but tell me that my account would be put ON HOLD and billing would continue, I would just get ""free"" months at the end for each month I paid for. I was so angry with this place, and ashamed that I didnt read the contract, that I never went back to this place, because I felt so defeated, and didnt want to be seen by the staff after the effort I put in to get OUT. 150 dollars to become a member, then every month it costs. At that point it was 50 dollars each per month for myself and my (at that time) wife (100$ /mo). I ended up having to call a month after my contract date was up, because they BILLED US AGAIN and said, Oh its somewhere in the contract that states we extend your contract for life, unless you tell us to stop. Luckily the Thursday appointment to cancel got it done in only about 1 hour of talking. Seriously folks avoid this place, just steam up the shower at home, and choose a different gym, one that treats you like a human being. more

Never want to leave 9/24/2009

Visiting from california and I spoke to a manager and purchased a one month pass. Love the classes and the trainers that they have on staff all day long. They have an awesome daycare with children's programs for those parents out there wondering. I've been coming here everyday for over a week since I really love the Jacuzzi and sauna action and yes... I have been working out too... Pros: Great Staff Cons: hate that I have to go home more

Think Before You Sign on the Dotted Line 9/10/2009

Since I am not a member of this gym, I can't attest to the pros or cons. I can, however, say that I checked out the facilities tonight and they are nice...a little too nice (or upscale) for my tastes - the word ""fake"" comes to mind. At first they wouldn't let me tour the facilities without presenting an ID, but as I was about to leave this policy magically disappeared and the salesgirl took me on a guided tour anyway. Then I had to wait for her manager to give me the rundown of membership fees. The manager offered to waive the $150 membership fee (which is over and above a monthly fee of $75, or $50 for the military) if I signed on the dotted line right then. I have to say that signing a 3-year contract is a lot to ask of someone who hasn't even tried your services. That's like McDonald's requiring you to sign a 3-year contract before you've tried their food; but a much more expensive mistake, I assure you. \r \r My husband and I have an agreement not to sign any contracts before discussing it with each other (good policy for married couples, by the way), and when I told the manager this he tried to get me to sign anyway. He wanted me to break a promise to my husband, which was a complete turn-off. He said that I could just sign and cancel within 3 days if my husband didn't like the contract (no written proof, by the way); and when I asked for a contract to take home and review it wasn't provided. The manager then said he didn't need my business but he knew how awesome his gym was - well, if your gym is so amazing people will continue to come whether they're forced into a contract or not. Meaning, scrap the contract (or at least reduce it to a year) and let your reputation speak for itself. Loyal clientele are built on a foundation of trust, which I didn't see in their policies. \r \r By the way, I did get him to extend the $150 membership waiver for a week, so I could talk to my husband first, which means nothing there is set in stone (at least not for them). But after reading these reviews, I'll find somewhere else to go. It's not worth the hassle. more

Sneaky contract, rude people, bad nursery 9/23/2008

The contracts are IMPOSSIBLE to get out of (must move 30 MILES away from any of their affiliate gyms to get out, regardless of your driving time).\r The nursery attendants are lazy, they call you out of your workout to come get your child if they cry for more than a few minutes or if they need a diaper change).\r Save yourself the time, hassle, trouble, and MONEY, DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT! Cons: very bad deal, contract is iron-clad more

This place is just one big problem!!! 1/28/2008

DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT sign a contract with this gym!!! My husband and I made that mistake after a recommendation from a friend of ours. We wished that we never would have listened to him! Before we even signed the contract with them. We made sure we would be able to get out of the contract or at least freeze the contract if he deployed and I move back home. They said yes, well this was a BIG FAT LIE!!! When it came time for my husband to deploy they said we needed to go talk to the company that takes care of the contracts/billing. When we went to talk to them they said that we could not freeze the contracts and that they couldn't talk about it anymore without an appointment. They only do appointments on Thu. between certain times. Then when we asked them for one they could not get us one before we left. And didn't even try to fit us in! So I ended up having to deal with them over the phone. I would have rather had my teeth drilled with no meds than deal with these people! After a long drawn out talk and argument. I found out that they will nether freeze nor cancel my husbands contract. And that we still had to pay even though he was over seas. They said that they reimburse you by letting you use the gym for the amount of time you were gone, after you are done paying for your contract. So we ended up having to pay for my husbands contract for almost 2 years before we could get out of it. To which we had to pay our way out and nothing was taken out of the total payment for the time that he had been gone that we paid for. Not only did we have these problems with his contract, but it took me almost 2 months or so to get out of my contract. That is with me living across the U.S. no where near a Spa gym and with the right documentation. We do not recommend this gym to anyone. In fact we tell anyone that asks to STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!!! For the good of your sanity and your pocket book, STAY FAR AWAY AND DO NOT SIGN ANY TYPE OF CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! Pros: I don't think there were any! Cons: Way over priced, a pain in the rear end, not worth the trouble! more

If I could give it no stars I would ! 7/5/2007

The evil post a year ago about sums it up. The sales personnel will tell you it is easy to get a release from the contract if you move or deploy. That is a lie. They will not let you out if you deploy, they will put it on hold. If you move you must write them from your new location once you have bills and such coming to your new address. None of this is in the contract and they won't tell you until you meet with them to try to cancel.\r This is not a fitness center, this is a money-making endeavor by NSI, National Security Interests. Look them up on consumer advocacy websites and you will see complaints about high pressure sales, difficulty cancelling, contract issues and the like. When I checked there were 21 in the last 36 months and 10 were unresolved. \r When I went to my meeting with NSI to make arrangements to cancel my membership I was told I could not until I actually moved. My plan was to stay with it until the move, but the intimidated me and told me it was my fault for signing a contract. There were two people that basically told me I was old enough to sign a contract and should have known better. \r Nowhere did they address the overcrowded issue, I brought it up and one guy in the meeting just shrugged.. seriously!! He didn't care it was overcrowded.. just said you signed a contract and that is not a reason to get out of it. \r So, I have to bide my time until my move and when I read the brochure on cancelling, they actually say it is up to NSI to decide if they will let me cancel. Now, that was not in the contract.\r Its overcrowded, customer service is nonexistant, and oh yeah my husband's locker was broken into and everything taken out of it while he was deployed. Pros: Looks nice if you come during a low traffic time Cons: Paced after work; high pressure sales; rude financial staff more

Looking for Comitted Souls: Gym Membership From Hell!! 7/28/2006

I believe this is a purely evil organization. I am not joking. The business owners have got to be motivated by purely selfish reasons. How else could a business not allow it's customers to EVER leave their contract unless they are military service members who are moving or are getting deployed?? They told my husband that is the only way he can cancel this contract he has had with them for over a year. They are like the devil signing up souls for a lifetime commitment to their evil gym. They offer the gym membership from hell. Please do not be fooled by their good looks. Every month, we pay these bastards $55 because we have to & they say we can't cancel the contract. He won't even work-out here because he feels so depressed about them taking our money & he can't do anything to stop it. It was a stupid thing my husband did before we were married, and he knows it now, and so do you: DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS EVIL BUSINESS! Now that he is getting deployed, they say we have to call this OTHER business to make an appointment with them to cancel his gym membership with this place. Well, this place only does these appointments between 9-2 on Thursdays. They said they could squeeze him in on a certain Thursday far past the date he is supposed to be deployed on. This fitness center makes me so angry. Pros: A good place for a work-out if you like evil Cons: The people behind this business are evil more
