furnace installation excellent 1/17/2016

I had a furnace installed on 1/14/2016. From Matt the technician to Curt the sales rep to installers Donnie, Benji, Ben and the rest, the experience was fantastic. I am so glad I chose Sobieski, they truly exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend them. more

Poor customer service 1/1/2016

Had a service contract which they did not follow-up with service reminder like others...when I called wanted to give me an appointment 5 weeks... did give me one for the following week but did not call when serviceman was running late. I asked to talk to a manager and none were available nor did any call me back.... I cancelled the service contract. more

Air conditioner fixed and refund received today 6/27/2015

I had a very bad experience a couple of months ago with a service tech named Henry. After I wrote my review and contacted the company. I received a call from Chris. He was very very nice to me. He had Henry come back out and install the new motor on the air conditioner and today I received a refund for the service call Henry had charged us for in May. Although I am still upset with Henry's actions at both service calls. I have to revise my review and say that this company does stand by the contracts. Thank you Chris for your excellent customer service more

No phone support 6/23/2015

I asked for support in finding out why my A/C wasn't working. Technician was supposed to show up between 2 and 6 pm on Friday. He showed up at 6:30 without a call to notify. He diagnosed my system by checking the external coil and performing a leak test where the line comes out of the main unit inside the house, and said it didn't look like it was leaking. I asked if the line could have a leak, he stated yes, and then said he could not check the lines do to a crawl space. He also stated it could be the internal coil on the inside unit, but I saw no inspection of this occur. He put 2.5 pounds of refridgerant and charged me nearly 400 dollars. I have been calling to speak with someone about the credibility of the inspection. 4 calls and 7 business days later, and no call back, and shockingly, my A/C unit which has never had an issue except for this leak, just failed again. I am very frustrated at the lack of service and sense of urgency from this company. I highly recommend you do not use them. I had to as the house I bought had the system installed 5 years ago, and it was still under warranty. I tried the right avenue for repair, but it feels like the wrong one. more

I am in a brand new rental and had an issue in the house with a toilet overflowing because of a clog in the sewer line. I had 2 different techs come out and both were very professional and kept me informed as they diagnosed the true issue. When it was all said and done I want to thank Jeremy, Johnnie and Matt as they went over and above to take care of our issue. This included a trip back to Wilmington to get a jet and return to my home in Newark after 5pm. I strongly recommend Sobieski Serices!! Thank you for the great service!!! Garth! more

Worse company I have ever dealt with 6/5/2015

I just had my air conditioner repaired by your tech Henry Pecere. I am VERY UPSET AND CONCERNED with the work. I have a service contract with J Maloney & Son that I purchased on December 14, 2014. I am a Gold Prime service member and have been for 8 years. Henry stated my contract would not be honored by your company that he said took over in November of 2014. I did not purchase the agreement till December 19th so I feel I purchased this from your company. Henry came out to service the air conditioner on Friday May 30th at 7:30 pm. He stated it was the motor and would cost me almost four hundred dollars. He said he would email his boss and get back to me on Saturday morning. I called the office on Saturday morning and was told by a woman in the office my contract was valid and Henry would be in touch. I waited till one thirty pm. and called him on the cell phone number on my caller ID. He said he was busy on a job and would rig the motor till he could get a new one on Monday morning. I told him I did not want that and would wait till Monday. I also stated no one would be home on Monday till after three in the afternoon. He said he would be here. On Monday at six I called and he said he did not pick up the motor and would be here on Tuesday morning. My husband waited and at ten called him and said he had a doctors appointment and what time would he be here. He said after five pm. At five thirty pm I called and he said he did not have the motor yet and would be here on Wednesday. After waiting all day on Wednesday a women from the office called around five and said Henry was running late on a job and would be here first thing Thursday morning to install the motor. On Thursday morning he did arrive early but he did not install a motor. He rigged up the motor and put on a different part. He also charged my husband $49.00 for a service call. I have called a heater and air conditioning service and explained this to them and they said that on the first hot day the motor is probably going to go. I would like to know where the motor is that took him four days to get and why he did not fix this on Friday if it was not the motor. I had been in touch at least three or four different times with your office during this week. Henry was very rude and stated to me on Friday that he did not feel contracts should be honored "that is how a company loses money". My contract covered everything including the parts, repair and service call. I feel I am being taken over for the forty nine dollars and also the motor. I would like someone to get back to me as soon as possible. I am giving your company the chance to fix this problem before I take it further. We are senior citizens and feel we have been used. Excellent professional installation by a helpful, knowledgeable, service technician. 5/31/2015

SOBIESKI Our gas hot water heater was just serviced by Scott working from the Lewes office. He was perhaps the most professional service technician I've used in 30 years. He diagnosed the problem, he explored and clearly explained various options, and scheduled the installation of a new gas valve for the following day, after its arrival via overnight shipping. In the interim, another possible fix involving an entire new appliance, not just a valve, surfaced. Scott helped us consider the possibility, which we ultimately disregarded. He installed the valve as scheduled and put our condo back into business, just as promised. In the process, he kept us fully informed of his progress. In our experience, Scott's level of professionalism, flexibility, communication skills , knowledge, and dedication to doing the job right are increasingly rare. He is a credit to his organization and his boss. more

Commending Tony Muscara 5/25/2015

I am writing to commend the services provided by your associates. In particular, I want to single out Tony Muscara for the outstanding support he provided earlier this year. In January, my wife and I had been trying to 'rescue' a commercial building at 270 E. Main St. in Newark. The heat/gas had been turned off in mid 2014. Our mother (who previously managed the building as the landlord) passed away in early Dec. 2014. The ensuing cold weather hit and numerous issues had to be dealt with inside the abandoned building. We called Sobieski and Tony was assigned to us as the service manager. He was invaluable in guiding and assisting us through this process. He was always responsive when we called, and provided prompt, skilled and courteous service. Out of all of the Sobieski associates that we have met during the couse of our repairs, we felt that Tony and his team (including Mark, Jay, Mike, Angie) stood out during this whole process. This letter is being sent to recognize Tony's outstanding performance ( my apologies for sending so late). more

Feel ripped off.... 4/8/2015

New home, been in here a year and a half. Originally had to call them about three months in about a gas smell coming from a pipe that was not installed correctly. Jump ahead to this week and there is a small gas leak coming from the same area. PECO confirms it, tech comes and can't find it initially, but eventually does. Offers to replace pipe and other parts for over $350. Feeling that I had no choice since I don't want my house to explode I agree. I called customer service to inquire about a manufacturer's warranty since it is less than 2 years old, girl has to check and puts me on hold 2-3 times to find out the answers, tells me that I have to call the manufacturer myself. Seems a bit shady to me, especially since it's a pipe that started leaking completely out of the blue. more

Very Pleased 12/29/2014

When my aging system failed to run consistently after multiple repairs by the previous company that had installed it, I looked to Sobieski (through Costco), and some others, for estimates. While I did pay a bit more than I could have with another company, I was able to get a rebate of $900 through their partnership with Costco, the price included installation of two new air intakes to improve air flow to the new system and a brand new humidifier at no additional charge, and I got a system that was better and more efficient than that offered by any other company. It was installed in December 2013. The system went out once in March, but was determine to be my own fault for not replacing the air filter (duh), but I was not charged for this. After summer rolled around, my upstairs was 10 degrees hotter than my downstairs, and after making one call, Sobieski sent a tech out within a day, and immediately dignosed the issue as too much air going to the ground floor, and fixed it first shot. I have been very pleased with the service, and the system has been functioning very well. At points during the summer, I spent as much as $60 less per month than the prior year... that said, we did have an awfully mild summer in 2014. I would highly recommend Sobieski... a new HVAC system is probably one of the most expensive outlays you'll make for your home, and I'd trust them to do it again. more

Overall a good experience. 12/15/2014

It was an overall good experience with Sobieski Services except for a few things. The assistant working with the main guy left some debris from the wall on the couch. When they left, the humidifier that comes with the heater was off, it should had been left on for the winter, and they also left my fence wide open. more
