On July 23,2011, I had made spa appointmentfor me and 2 friends at the Falls of Neuse location. I didn't anticipate any confusion since I've been to Skin Sense on several occasions at another location (Brier Creek).Everything was fine until it was time to check out. When I booked the appt., I was told that I had $16.25 accumulated due to points. The cashier was having difficulty and called her manager (Carolyn) to assist. She said she was unable to access the points. I checked out thinking everything was ok and she was going to research the points. She called me back within the hour stating that she forgot to charge $10 for hot stones and to tell me she figured out points. She asked for my card number which I wasn't comfortable giving via telephone in a crowded restaurant. I told her I would call back. Since I was close to spa, I stopped by to clear the confusion up. I found out that Carolyn charged a card that was used previously for the hot stones. I did not authorize this transaction. The manager on duty at this time cleared up the situation by refunding my card for unauthorized charge and applying my points.(about 3p 7/23/11, can't remember her name). I wasn't impressed with customer service. I think I will just got back to Brier Creek location. more

Excellent service and two great personalities. It was nice to have a pedicure while my sister was having a manicure. The women doing the services were professional but also had a great sense of humor. All was good. Pricey, but I'll be back if I receive another gift card. more

Avery is great . Always gives a great massage plus is knowledgable about health issues. She takes the time to get to know her repeat clients. more

I don't get many massages but when I do, I have high hopes and expectations. Charmaine did not let me down. She was wonderful and went out of her way to accommodate my personal needs. I will definitely go back again soon! more

Great from start to finish! My girlfriend had a manicure, pedicure, facial, and we had a couples massage together. The staff were friendly, great with service, thorough with their work, and the facilities were superb. Will do again soon! more

I went to Skin Sense to get a Brazilian and was blown away by the service and facility. I truly got a lot more for my money. The steam room, locker room facilities, and the lounge were fantastic. The service was very helpful and patient. Rebeca did my wax and was very friendly and made it go by quick, I highly recommend her. I am definitely making monthly visits. Best spa I've ever been to. more

Michael Searle, as usual, was wonderful. I still wish I could get him to come home with me!! What was lacking for me was the music. It was a little too fast-paced, and I really was unable to totally relax. Michael says the music comes from satellite radio. Which station? Normally it's great. more

I had the most wonderful experience with the Peppermint Patty massage. The warm chocolate oil, the massage, and then warm towels draped over you makes for the most relaxing time you can imagine. Redesa was my masseuse and she was just great. For the finale you are covered with a mint lotion. Everyone should try this at least once.!!! more

I went in for a bikini wax and and left with torn skin, punctured blood vessels and my inner thighs looking like they had been rubbed by sand paper. I get waxes ALL the time, all over the country, and this was the worst I have ever had. The lady was very friendly but had NO idea what she was doing. more

Normally, I go to the Umstead Spa for massages, facials, etc. however, I figured I would try some place new. Skin Sense marketed there facilities to be similar to Umstead, but on a lower scale. They were no where near it!! The robes and showers appeared dirty. My therapist disappeared for 10 minutes, claiming to look for a pregnancy waiver, and because of that he rushed through my massage and cheated me out of some time. I was not pleased with my experience at all!! I will not be returning and will not recommend Skin Sense to anyone. more

When arriving at the Spa,even though I arrived half an hour early, the receptionist was nice, but not personal. It was almost like she memorized a script. She was rushing me through and talking very fast, I actually had to stop her and ask her to repeat what she previously said. The massage itself was wonderful but I think that the staff or facility should have someone to show you around the facility and give a tour. The service would have been a lot better if it had more of a personal touch. more

As a much needed break from my 3 young children, I was given this spa day as a gift. I excitedly scheduled a massage, facial, and "milk and honey mani-pedi" with a girlfriend of mine. Our massages and facial went well, but when we had our mani-pedi, all of our relaxation was taken away. We were completely ripped off in that area. The description of our "milk and honey mani-pedi" was a luxurious lie. My assumption was at a spa, the best service would be provided for such. To my dismay, the manicure consisted of nothing other than a file and polish. There was no hand massage or lotion whatsoever. The pedicure was the same but with a quick rub of lotion on my legs. The paint on my nails was all over the place. Everything was very hurried as if they were trying to push us out. The same lack of service was provided for my friend and the girls who performed the service were aware of how unhappy we were. Management explained that since the "milk and honey mani-pedi" was a summer special, it was hurried and that was just the way it was. I was disgusted. My feet still had callouses and looked like "flip-flop feet." They charged us the full amount and said the owner would call us the next business day (2 days out). She did not call. Very very poor service. I would not recommend this spa to anyone. more
